Dive into this sizzling romantic comedy from USA Today bestselling author Melissa Schroeder. He is absolutely, completely, and undoubtedly the one man I shouldn’t fantasize about. Other than being my boss, he’s too rigid, a workaholic with a checkered past when it comes to women. Knowing all that, I shouldn’t think about how his hands would feel on my body, or how his voice would sound when he … would sound when he whispered my name in the dark.
But I can resist him. Mainly because he can’t stand me, and he’s the kind of boss who makes me think about murder on a daily basis. That’s until he shows me his softer side and ignoring my need for him becomes impossible.
No, softer side or not, I have to resist the lure of Grady Hawthorne because if I don’t, I’m pretty sure I won’t survive the fall.
Warning: This book includes a smack-talking executive assistant, a workaholic boss who has the most amazing…mouth, irritating siblings, a drunken night that ends in jail, and a happily ever after that will make you sigh. Author assumes no responsibility for overheated readers.
This is a standalone romantic comedy with no cheating and an HEA.

Thoroughly entertaining. This is an incredibly witty, novel with well-developed and described characters and storyline. Grady is crazy about his clever and sassy assistant Sydney and although the feeling is mutual, the problem is, neither of them is willing to admit it for a long while. This leads to hilarious dialogue, atmosphere and a lot of hiding behind insecurities, as well as getting over their own rigid rules and attitudes about relationships in the workplace. It was heartening to read about Grady’s close-knit family and their love for each other. They welcomed Syd with open arms, knowing she belongs there, even before Grady dared to admit it to himself. When they eventually overcome their inhibitions and their erected fences, realising misunderstandings, admitting and giving in to their feelings and desires, the results are explosive, steamy, hot, hot hot. This is an all-rounder of a novel with a lot of witty dialogue and steamy romance. The HEA that follows is a lovely conclusion to the readers’ expectations. Well edited work which I can highly recommend.is

A romantic comedy
Sydney is Grady’s administrative assistant at Hawthorne Enterprises that he has recently taken charge of upon his father’s retirement. Their relationship is “interesting” in that there’s a charged atmosphere when they’re together that’s sometimes sexually charged and almost adversarial at others. The underlying angst of will they or won’t they adds another layer to the story: Will they or won’t they kill each other? Will they or won’t they admit their mutual attraction? Will he or won’t fire her rather than give in to his emotions? A terrific start to this new series by Ms. Schroeder.

4.5 Stars
This book is about Grady Hawthorne and Sydney Fillmore. This story is from the world of Camos & Cupcakes. Sydney is Grady‘s executive assistant. Grady seems so stuffy and proper that when he finally relaxes it’s like a whole different person. They are so attracted to each other that they act repelled by one another because they work together. He witnesses her one night drinking and letting her hair down and he’s a goner. Once they get past their work personas, their chemistry is off-the-charts sizzling HOT!
I love the writing style of this author! The story line is fantastic as well as the characters. I’m super excited to read about the other Fillmore sibling, Travis.
Enemies to Lovers, Opposites attract, Office Romance, this is all of those, and a super sexy, scorching, slow burn up to the main event! But it didn’t stop there, it is also a romantic comedy, with some true LOL moments, and a cast of side characters that could have me loving stories about them all for years to come! Yes, there are a lot of exclamation points, but I really loved this book!
Sydney and Grady are opposites in every way, from their backgrounds, to their current lives, but one thing they have in common is an unwavering attraction to each other. They were smart, they were funny, they were sexy, they were flawed, they did the wrong thing, and they did the right thing. In the end, they realized how much they loved each other, and that was more than enough for them to get their HEA
Slow but hot rise of feelings
4.5
Very good romance. This is the first story I read from this author, and apart from the first chapters that I found a little slow to begin, I really liked it, especially the characters. The story is well written and is sometimes quite hot.
I found the point raised indirectly, interesting, about relationships at work between subordinates because of movements like “me too” which both can protect women from assault, but can also frighten men to approach them.
Sydney is Grady’s assistant. She is attracted to her boss, but has trouble putting up with him, and Grady is more and more attracted to her but is afraid to approach her without risking losing her or being sued. In addition, he sees all the professional skills that she has and he knows that he is stopping her, but at the same time, he does not want her to move away from him and he keeps her in this position of assistant, despite requests from his father and brothers.
These hesitations of one and the other create tensions between them, and sometimes interesting verbal contests.

Such a great book. Love the feel of romance, excitement and a HEA that Melissa Schroeder provides within this story. This book was hard to put down and makes the reader forget where they are. I totally recommend this book to any reader who wants to fall in love with great characters.
A spinoff of the camos & cupcake series is better than good! These stories are totally engaging , dynamic characters that are just too much. This story was funny, intense, and just awesome. I just can’t wait to read more about them.

LOVED this book! Crazy chemistry with so much banter and humor it was hard to put down. Grady is the typical type A workaholic boss who is uber focused he would miss what is in front of him if he did not have Syd to keep him on task. She is his Executive Assistant and she can not only go toe to toe with him she organizes his life and keeps everything moving along. Add in all the secondary characters and this one is a hit! Definitely a recommendation from me.
Sydney and Grady are such a beautiful couple. He is like this really tough, egotistical jerk on the outside and a marshmallow on the inside. She is gorgeous, smart and doesn’t put up with his bull. They are both bull headed and secretly have the hots for each other. It seems everyone knew but them. It is funny, heart breaking and an HEA that I just couldn’t put down.
LOVED IT! Spinning off the superb series Camos and Cupcakes I was expecting nothing but another awesome book, and I was NOT left wanting!! Sydney & Gradys story is yet another that I will mark down as a favorite!
This is the first book in a new series by Melissa Schroeder who once again brings strong, well developed characters and an entertaining story line. She does a fantastic job developing the story and pulls you in with all the humor and fun sexy scenes. The supporting characters play a huge role in bringing the story around along with the hot chemistry between Sydney and Grady. It’s well written with descriptive scenes and moves quickly and smoothly. I had some laugh out loud moments reading this one. I loved and would highly recommend this book.

I was sad when the Camos and Cupcake series ended, but Hate to Love You is kind of a spin off and gives a whole slew of new characters to enjoy.
I liked that Sydney was intelligent, strong, kind of brash, sarcastic, yet easy going, and a genuinely nice person. She and Grady worked so well together, and the sexual tension started building from the very beginning. I liked the fact that Grady respected Syd, her intelligence, her professionalism, and recognized her competence to move beyond the job she held.
Even when Grady made a supremely dumb move, I couldn’t really be mad at him because I knew he wasn’t going to try and hold Sydney back. He had a moment of stupidity.
I also loved Syd and Nancy’s friendship. They could read one another and practically finish the other person’s sentence. They seemed to have a number of “Brown liquor” experiences.
I enjoyed all the secondary characters, and can’t wait for their stories. This book was sweet, sexy, romantic, a funny with a tiny pinch of angst. A definite 4.5 stars read.

This rom-com was simply delightful!!! Sydney and Grady’s story had no difficulty in capturing and holding my interest. These appealing characters will make you laugh, have you rooting for them and in the end leave you feeling swoony. The story line offers up a entertaining blend of drama, emotions, humor, snappy chemistry, clever banter and heat. A few well placed twists help keep you on your toes as this couple’s relationship evolves. I just loved this highly entertaining romance.
Another great book from “Melissa Schroeder”. This is a office romance which is one of my favourite tropes. This book will have you laughing, swooning and falling in love with the characters. “Hate to Love You” had fun, witty banter and sexy moments. Can’t wait for more from this amazing author. Has me coming back for more each and every time she brings a new book out, so go grab your copy today if your like me and love this author. Happy reading!!
Absolutely loved the sexual tension between Grady and Sydney, this couple has sparks flying in every direction. This book was so much fun to read, all the supporting characters being siblings add the laugh out loud factor and of course the ever sibling rivalry. I liked the storyline with an easy transition from both POV, plus the added commentary from all their siblings. Great start to a new series. Looking forward to reading the rest about the Fillmore and Hawthorne crew.

This was more of a slow burn than I am used to by Ms Schroeder. I loved Grady and Sydney though. They really fit each other well. I would have liked to see his parent’s reaction to the relationship is my only complaint. Look forward to more in this world.
I so wanted to give this book 4 stars heck even 5 because it was such a charming and enchanting read but there are some mix ups in character descriptions, incomplete thoughts/dialogues, and timeline issues that are pretty major once you get to them other than that this book had me up until 5am flipping pages I could not put it down Grady and Syd have to be one of my all time favorite couples and the side characters were so hilarious and all around entertaining I really hope we get Travis and Nancy’s book down the road

I love this book! I love the expansion on some of the characters from Camo & Cupcake series. Syd can be very sarcastic and mean to her boss, Grady. But on the inside she is very attracted to him. Grady wants Sydney but he doesn’t mix pleasure with co-workers. Then things begin to change. I really enjoyed the banter between these two. I loved reading about Grady coming out of his hard exterior. I am really hoping for books for Travis and Nancy and for the other brothers. I loved loved loved this book!
