3-1/2 Stars!!! I loved the premise of this story. Enemies to lovers is one of my favorite tropes. I loved the fact that Drew was best friends with both Liam and Mason. This is a fast-paced story and Liam and Mason go from enemies to lovers rather quickly. I would have liked to see more of the enemies part of their relationship fleshed out a bit more before they became lovers. Also, I did encounter a few discrepancies in the storyline, but I found myself overlooking those as I loved this author’s writing style. This is the first time for me reading anything by this author, and I will definitely be checking out his other stuff, as I said, I like his style. If you like fast-paced stories, then I recommend giving it a try. All-in-all, I did enjoy this book.
Standalone Story.
Mason is thrilled when his best friend announces his engagement, until Drew tells him that Liam will be sharing Mason’s Best Man duties. Mason can only see the boy who taunted and tormented him when they were younger. Liam can’t believe the man he’s been in love with forever is getting married to someone else. Now he’s determined to prove how unaffected he is by getting Mason to help him make Drew jealous. However, when they finally start to get to know each other on a more personal level, Mason and Liam begin to fall for each other.
If you’re looking for a steamy MM enemies-to-lovers story, this is the book for you!
I thought the Narration was good. I think it helped to cover the holes and discrepancies in the storyline.
A fast paced, MM contemporary romance. I think this was supposed to be an enemies to lovers book. I listened to the Audiobook in one evening.
My understanding was that Liam was supposed to use Mason to make Drew jealous because Liam was in love with Drew. That didn’t happen the way it was described.
Growing up, Liam and Mason disliked each other. Mason had a crush on Liam which was surprising since Liam bullied him all through school. Liam made his life miserable. How did Mason have a crush on him?
This developed into more of an instalove story after they reconnected for a friend’s wedding. There was no real development of a relationship. They did talk about their pasts regarding school, the issues with parents – after having no choice, but, there was no real discussions about their romantic pasts. Mason and Liam went from enemies to instalust to instalove.
They did discover one another’s vulnerabilities and were equally accepting and supportive of them.
Being together brought some closure in other areas of their lives too. There was a bit of danger and suspense before they reached their HEA.
I voluntarily listened to and reviewed this audio book.
Hate to Love You: by J. P. Oliver, and narrated by the astute voice of Randi Johnson.
This is a sweet Enemy’s to Lover story.
I enjoyed the storyline, it was clever, well thought out, with a devious plan of bringing two people at odds with each other together. Along the way however there are glitches and that added drama, intrigue and an inevitable love, very clever.
I am reviewing this audible book for a fair and honest review.
