MalI know my best friends meant well. But I’m a kindergarten teacher, I don’t do one-night stands.I especially don’t jump into bed with tattooed, bearded bartenders. Except that’s exactly what I did. TWICE.Boy what a mistake that was. He is crude, cocky, and so infuriating!
I hope to never see Ellis Phillips again.
EllisI did Mallory a favor.Don’t get me wrong, I thoroughly enjoyed giving her … Phillips again.
Ellis
I did Mallory a favor.
Don’t get me wrong, I thoroughly enjoyed giving her the best night of her life.
But who gets offended by dirty pillow talk? Little Miss Priss is who.
Well good riddance.
I don’t have time for another woman in my life anyways. One is enough for me, even if she’s under four feet tall and has pig tails.
There’s a very thin line between hate and love.
HATE TO LOVE is a steamy enemies-to-lovers romance,
with a crude and cocky single dad, who has a very dirty mouth. And a goody two shoes kindergarten teacher who can’t stand it!
It is the second standalone novel in the Quick to Fall series. Although it is not necessary to read the first in the series, it is strongly recommended due to returning characters.

Book 2 in the Quick to Fall series hit me right in the feels. This book, like all of Sarah LeeAnn’s books, was HOT. I mean, I love my husband, but can I borrow Ellis for just a little bit?
Please? Good. Lawd.
Ellis is a dirty-talking bartender. Mal is a prissy, intelligent, sweet Kindergarten teacher. After one hot night, their chemistry turns into napalm and they go their separate ways. Imagine their shock when Mal finds out the shy, sweet little girl in her class is Ellis’s 5 year old daughter! What follows is a push/pull of epic proportions that literally had me giggling and blushing.
This opposites-attract, contemporary romance has some sexy AF scenes, so many emotions, swoon-worthy moments, heartbreak, and a perfect HEA. Once again, it has everything I love in a romance PLUS we get some more scenes with Clair and AJ!!!
Mal and Ellis give me life!!! Their enemies to lovers/opposites attract story was great. Mallory is a super sweet teacher who rarely puts herself out there in terms of the dating scene. She takes a chance on Ellis but he quickly proves her point as to why she keeps her heart locked away. His rejection stings but fate is a fickle B and keeps throwing the two of them together. At first I loved Ellis, then I hated him, then I loved him again. Their chemistry was explosive and H-O-T! I enjoyed getting to see our favorite characters from Refused to Love in this book. Quick to Fall is a great contemporary romance series and I definitely recommend it!
Well guys Sarah has gone and done it again!!! I didn’t think she could top AJ but she did with Ellis!
Ellis was just the right amount of cocky, bad boy with the sweet hidden edge. Man oh man, did I love that sweet side of him. I loved how he met Mal and helped her out. Showed that sweet side but then showed his dark side the next morning and it made me giggle. And that little twist, yeah wasn’t expecting that. But it was a good one to see.
I loved Mal in book 1, she was such a sweet friend to Clair and Cami. I was so happy to read her story. I loved that she was a kindergarten teacher, just from reading the little parts of her in book 1 it matched her personality perfectly! I also loved the fact that she wasn’t totally attached to Ellis right away, but she knew there was something about him she liked. Then hated him haha.
The banter with the two of them was the best. It made me laugh most of the time. The fact that they were such opposites and the touch of enemies to lovers was just amazing!

Sarah LeeAnn well done you! “Hate to Love” is a fantastic addition to The Quick to Fall Series. It’s a winning combination of several of my favorite things:
It’s a forbidden romance
Mallory is an adorably sexy, somewhat innocent, perky Kindergarten teacher. She’s a sweet and sassy pixie.
Ellis is a tatted, bearded, well read, sexy as sin, single daddy businessman. He’s a dotting father by day, sex on legs bartender by night.
The chemistry between the Kindergarten teacher and bartender is melt your Kindle hot and burns bright until they hit a snag.
Ellis’ five year old daughter Lilly is in Mallory’s class and forces them to reconnect after a misunderstanding keeps them apart.
Watching two people who for various reasons are not looking for love, navigate the murky waters of a budding, yet somewhat complicated relationship, makes this book a deliciously sweet and sexy read. I loved watching Ellis and Mal fall hard and fast for one another and the part sweet Lilly played in it. TBR and enjoy and if you haven’t read Book 1 “Refused Love”, you really should!
Hate to Love is the second standalone novel in the Quick to Fall series, by an Author I have not read before. Mallory Murdoch a kindergarten teacher, bartender Ellis Phillips and his daughter Lilly’s story. I want to read more in this series. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
