Amazon’s #1 Most Unputdownable Book of the Year. An Amazon Charts bestseller.A Wall Street Journal bestseller.A Washington Post bestseller. From New York Times bestselling authors Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward comes an unexpected love story of secondhand hearts and second chances… mysterious blue note sewn into a wedding dress.
Something blue.
I’d gone to sell my own unworn bridal gown at a vintage clothing store. That’s when I found another bride’s “something old.”
Stitched into the lining of a fabulously feathered design was the loveliest message I’d ever read: Thank you for making all of my dreams come true.
The name embossed on the blue stationery: Reed Eastwood, obviously the most romantic man who ever lived. I also discovered he’s the most gorgeous. If only my true-love fantasies had stopped there. Because I’ve since found out something else about Mr. Starry-Eyed.
He’s arrogant, cynical, and demanding. I should know. Thanks to a twist of fate, he’s my new boss. But that’s not going to stop me from discovering the story behind his last love letter. A love letter that did not result in a happily ever after.
But that story is nothing compared to the one unfolding between us. It’s getting hotter, sweeter, and more surprising than anything I could have imagined.
Something new.
But I have no idea how this one is going to end…

I loved this book. Wonderful characters and humor. Most of all, I loved the message the female character is sharing with the male character and readers about what’s important in life.
This book grabbed me and wouldn’t let go until I finished it. Great book!!
5 stars plus
An outstanding story that brought out so many emotions in me whilst reading it!
It was unputdownable! It had beautiful words and characters that made my heart full!
The collaboration of the two authors have written a powerful story about love, heartache, friendship with some words that will resonate and stay in your mind long after the book has ended!
Im not sure if I can convey how much both Charlotte and Reed touched my heart! Charlotte had an air about her but could also be a little crazy, which made me laugh quite a lot then Reed with his serious attitude you had to wonder how on earth will these two get along!
I especially loved Iris, she really helped Charlotte see things differently and when you find out something, you come to understand why Reed is the way he is!
Hands down this is an absolute favorite of 2018!
I could have read about them forever and it certainly ended with a bang!
The authors have given us a sensational story!
Wonder what they have up their sleeves for us next!!!
To me this was just an awesome book to read. It was fun reading the two main characters banter with each other. It had the right amount of everything.
I won this book through a Goodreads contest and in return I promised my honest review. This story contains a HEA but goes one step further and tells us a little about their future and I Loved It!
Charlotte goes to a consignment shop to sell her unworn wedding dress when she finds another wedding dress, a blush colored one with feathers, but whats inside is what catches her attention. So, she exchanges hers for the other one. Inside the dress she finds a note stitched into the lining, a message that makes her change her mind about love.
The name that is embossed on the blue stationery note is: Reed Eastwood, who must be the most romantic man ever. Charlotte looks him up and discover that he is gorgeous. But soon finds out that looks can be deceiving. Because Reed turns out to be arrogant, demanding, and just plain mean. Fate has other ideas and he ends up being my new boss. With some nosiness Charlotte discovers the story behind the message. A message that was so lovely but unfortunately did not result in a happily ever after.
The story is heart breaking but can the feelings happening between them be sweeter and deeper than the story before? It may be worth the effort to find out.
3.5 stars. I truly enjoyed certain aspects of this story. A tale of a true and unconditional love, Hate Notes, will warm your heart and soothe your soul. My only complaint, hence the 3.5 stars, was the unrealistic interactions in a corporate workplace. Charlotte was made to appear a bit eccentric, but often times was immature and childish even. No matter how enamored a boss may be with his PA, I felt this was a bit of a stretch for a seemingly professional environment.
I really felt the epilogue made this book. I’ve not read an epilogue I loved more, considering the difficulty in ending a story with a potentially rough outcome.
LOVE THIS BOOK. SO MANY TWISTS IN THE STORY THAT I COULDN’T EVER HAVE GUESSED THE ENDING. GREAT READ.
Kindle unlimited/audible For honest review wow 10 stars for a story of love and fate. This is a story of Charlotte who after the breakup of her engagement goes to sell her dress to find a dress that has a note pinned in it that send her on a adventure to find the man reed .
There’s something delectable taboo and deliciously forbidden about Office room rendezvous that just thrush my pulse. Men in suit are total aphrodisiacs and when in power positions it’s like getting your panties moist
And *sigh* if the boss is as yummylickable like Reed Eastwood, you take off your panties like Charlotte Darling (with a big D)
God, was there really anything sexier than a gorgeous man who just wanted to be loved by a woman?
Only he’s cranky, obnoxious, rude and downright scornful. What crawled up HIS ads and died there??!!. I’ll tell ya. A selfishly stupid and silicon stiff Allison!!!. He wrote her love notes and she just abandoned him!!
“When love is not returned, you have to learn to unlove the other person. The mind tells you that you’re not supposed to love them anymore, but the heart isn’t listening so easily.”
So his heart is closed and brow is furrowed at the world.
One man’s overlooked blessing is soon another man’s gain.”
Charlotte manages to inviegele into his life and just gets comfortable. Their cat and mouse verbal sparring gets the tension palpably high and chemistry sizzling in NO time.
She makes him want to better himself and get in touch with his REAL self. She inspires him to make a bucket list”Fuck-it last” cause life is short and no time to waste doing something you hate!!
Part of the mantra of the fuck-it list is that if the opportunity comes to you, you need to take it.you need to figure out how to love the life that you have, while you work on the life that you want. You can only find true happiness within yourself, not inside of other people, no matter how much you care about them. Make yourself happy, and the rest will come. I promise.”
Then comes the twist….a horrible twist, made me cry!!I was like noooooooooo, please noooo!
They have to desperate and how….omg my heart
Pick up this book that though starts a s a bollywood movie yet touches your Heart and makes you pray …..pray for the couple
4.5 Project Squirrel stars
This book is a quick, fun, sometimes funny, easy-to-read love story that goes along a predictable story plot but kept me entertained and feeling happy and warm despite touching some more serious issues.
4.5 Stars
I very much enjoy books co-written by Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward. Their characters always have a certain amount of depth that isn’t always found in other romance books.
Charlotte just broke it off with her fiance after finding him cheating. Reed’s fiance broke it off with him the week before their wedding. While selling her wedding gown, Charlotte finds another dress that she loves. Pinned inside is a love note from the groom (Reed) to his former fiance. This inspires a whole chain of events- and Charlotte and Reed meeting.
I fell in love with Reed! I loved that he was so strong, wanted to love so badly, but yet felt he didn’t deserve love in return. And Charlotte was so quirky, and brought out the best in so many people!
As is typical, Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward have crafted a beautiful love story- and one that is extremely inspirational!
I’m hyperventilating right now, and I don’t think it’s because of panic attack.. Or maybe it is.. Because whenever I think of Reed Eastwood, he causes me to panic and widen my eyes. He’s just too much, too hot to handle, and I am at a loss for words for this kind of alpha male. That’s it, I’m done, take my money, take me to Paris, take me on a sleeper train, take me to an 18-wheeler truck… I’m all for it.. As long as I’m with Reed Eastwood.
Too much?
Nah… if you meet Reed and Charlotte Darling, there’s nothing you can do but crave for more.Bucket lists are no longer a thing – but the F*ckIt list is!
I am not in the liberty to spoil you with anything about this awesome book by my favorite author duo, but here’s something I have to tell you. Every blue hate note you read will tickle your fancies. Every item checked off the f*ckit list will have you roaring with laughter. Every craziness that Charlotte did will make you love her. Every little thing Reed Eastwood does will make your legs melt into a puddle and so much more.
Lastly, every minute you spend in front of this book by Keeland and Ward is totally worth it.
Hate Notes by Vi Keeland & Penelope Ward (Audiobook)
Narrated by Sebastian York and Lynn Barrington
4 Stars – I laughed out loud more than once during my listening to this book. I do wish there were a few more “notes” between the leads, but that is just my own love of letter/note writing obsession speaking out. I loved the way Reed would almost go out of his way to get a rise out of Charlotte and her reactions didn’t disappoint. Overall I found this book quite enjoyable.
Narration was done wonderfully. Sebastian York is never a wrong choice, and this was the first time I have listened to Lynn Barrington. I would happily listen to her again.
~Paragraphs and Petticoats~
Really!! If you are not into romances you have to give this one a try. It’s a dynamic story that hooks you right off the start and keeps you engaged the whole read. Awesome storyline, amazing characters, not your typical romance material.
Thought Hate Notes was great. I am rating it 4 stars because it was easily real. It was something that could/would happen in real life. It was a down to earth love story. The very limited sex scenes were perfect and again, real.
Thanks for something relatable. I needed some reality right about now!
Well Vi & Penelope have done it yet again!!!!!
These two seriously… when they work together they create magic I tell ya… MAGIC!!
Whenever I pick up their books I just get sucked in and can’t help loving the story and characters.
Reed I thought he was gorgeous, funny, sometimes wanted to slap him, then hug him and kiss him. He made me feel so many different emotions. But god did he make me fall in love with him.
Charlotte she’s just bloody amazing. I really did love her character. She was so funny and such a dreamer. I love how she wasnt affraid to go up to Reed and say something.
At a certain part I was like woah didnt see that one coming at all and I may have got a little teary. I then understood why Reed was acting the way he was.
I seriously had all the damn butterflies and all the feels whilst reading this book.
This book is now a joint favourite with Playboy Pilot!!
That epilogue…. Yep I cried happy and sad tears lol. It was so amazing to read yet I was a little sad.
Yeah thats me haha such a bloody sap when it comes to books.
Want to say well done for yet another amazing read xx
Loved this book!
I adored Charlotte. Reed…took a while longer to appreciate, but this was a very satisfying story.
All the yeses for this steamy slow-burn!
I started this book and could not put it down. The story captured my heart and the characters were great. This is a must read
