Have you heard the rumor about campus celebrity DJ Dalton? No, not the one about number of the zeros in his bank account. Or the one about his father, the head football coach. Or even the one about his special talent between the sheets.I’m talking about the one where he has a female roommate in an all-male dorm.I can’t speak to the first three, but that fourth one is true. I know because that girl … is true. I know because that girl in his room is me.
Because of an error by the college, I’m placed with Mr. Campus Celebrity in the traditionally male dorm.
Is he panty-meltingly handsome with an attitude to match? Sure.
Do I accidentally fanaticize about him one (okay, maybe two) times? Fine, I’m honest enough to admit it.
None of that matters, because we’re opposites in all the ways that are important for getting along as college roommates:
He comes from a perfect life and old money. I come from a broken home and bowls of ramen.
He’s at Greene State to party. I’m here to study.
He’s a popular jock. I wouldn’t be caught dead playing sports.
To say we get off to a rocky start would be an understatement.
Ironically, that’s what causes our sizzling attraction to boil over one night. But even that comes at a price.
Because our story has a twist neither of us could see coming.
One that changes both of our lives, ‘till death do us part.

I see a great series coming our way after reading Hatemates. Mickey gives us a refreshing story that has you loving on these characters hard. DJ made my kindle melt and Alex rolled with the punches, which made me have a girl crush. Hatemates will give you the giggles and then make the temperature rise. I always love Mickey Miller books, but this one tops the cake for me and will become my favorite re-read story!
I loved this book From the first time you meet DJ and Alex you will feel the chemistry between these two The things they say to each other at times are so funny and the steamy scenes are hot too I can’t wait to read more in this series
Alex is a female college student who gets out in an all male dorm when they assumed she was a male because of her name. DJ is the male she is forced to room with. He is the star player for the football team at the college in which his dad just happens to coach at. These two have an instant attraction that neither want to give into.
Let’s just say that this is definitely one book y’all will wanna check out. it’s one of those, once you start you can’t put down, kind of books. Amazing job done by the author. I definitely recommend this book to all.
Another great read by Mickey Miller. Alex showed up at college ready to spread her academic wings and was looking forward to getting settled in her dorm. Unfortunately, b/c of her male-sounding first name, she is given a room in the male dorm and her roommate is none other than the rumored god of football, DJ Dalton. How will this ever work? Can DJ even be serious and turn off the charm? The tattooed free-spirited Alex and the athletic, flirtatious DJ get on each other’s nerves and under each other’s skin. When a misunderstanding d/t a false statement attributed to DJ occurs, it looks like the end happens before anything really got started. Their past family traumas draw them together, but could that be the very thing that pushes them apart. Enemies to lovers with a side of college football is the theme for this first book in the series and I can’t wait to read more of Alex and DJ, along with the rest of their gang of friends. I am a sucker for a HEA
“Hate Mates” is a field of stormy emotions and burns with a fiery passion. Inside this captivating story is phenomenal character interaction, blooming friendships, witty flirty banter, fabulous vivid scene descriptions, heart-tugging moments, sizzling romance, a shocking twist, and a happy forever. An engrossing story I could not stop reading until the end and found myself wanting more.
Elation fills Alex’s heart that she is going to the university her Aunt attended. Her happiness does a nosedive when she learns she is rooming with the hottest male on campus. Due to an overflow of students, there is a mix up because of her unisex name. Unwanted heated desires echo in the air when DJ and Alex first meet. Both have pasts they struggle with. They find ways to annoy and tease each other while trying to cope with their rooming situation. Their newfound friends are awesome and fun. They face a few hurdles before reaching a happy conclusion.
A fabulous well-written entertaining read that made me smile and feel for the characters too. The loving romance between Alex and DJ is quite believable; they compliment each other. Their relationship is built on trust and loyalty. The reality of this story makes this author’s writing shine. This book is more than a fiery romance. Relishing this story, I voluntarily reviewed a pre-release copy.
Um yes I would 100% recommend this book. Such great characters. Alex is a badass chick and DJ is a hot jock. I won’t give anything away but there was so much tension in this book and I absolutely loved it and the ending was 100% worth it. I wish I could rate this higher than five
Wow…does not disappoint! Lots of family drama and misconceptions that makes this into a great enemies to lovers romance.
This has to be my favorite Mickey Miller book to date! HateMates has a little bit of everything… slow burn, humor, enemies to lovers, friends to lovers and some serious heat!Freshman Alex is the only female assigned to the all male dorm, rooming with DJ, the star QB for the football team. She initially thinks he’s just a pretty boy, hot shot athlete and not her type at all. DJ worries rooming with someone as stunningly beautiful as Alex is proving to be way too much of a distraction. When Alex gets wind of a rumor that DJ is saying he slept with her, the start of their friendship comes to a screeching hault. The enemies to lovers push starts… I love these characters and their friends, Mickey creates a world you feel like you’re a part of. Can’t wait for the rest of the series… take me back to Green State U!
Love love loved this book. Dj’s and Alex’s story is a grate read. I loved this steamy college sports romance. The chemistry is off the charts it is humorous and how they get matched up as roommates in an all male dorm and not even realizing it as first. Dalton aka DJ is the hot and talented Quarterback so not Alex’s type or so she thinks. Alex is bad ass with the piercings and the tattoos not your typical freshman but can their tragedies bond them?
Both characters are likable and relate able they are well written and they find that because they look opposite doesn’t mean they don’t fit together. But can they get over their differences or will it define them in the end.
With an obnoxious HS friend and ex-girlfriend who is a bit crazy in the picture will the sparks that fly between these two roommates work out? They are walking a fine line of should we or shouldn’t we. You get wrapped up in their world. It is full of all the feels and gives you a few laugh out loud moments.
Their journey will lead you to their HEA and it makes it all the more sweeter. I am looking forward to the next book in this series Mickey has done it again and each book gets better and better by far one of my favorite male authors in romance.
I revived this ARC for a genuine review.
Great storyline, definitely different than the usual college romance stories. This was steamy and sexy, but also had some good old fashioned drama thrown into the mix. DJ and Alex’s relationship/ friendship was a slow burn, which I liked and they both were not who the other expected to meet on their first day of college.
After the college makes a mistake and puts Alex in a boy dorm she has no choice but to stay where she is due to housing issues. The chemistry between these two are off the charts! This is a must read with an amazing storyline.
Alex and Dj’s story was such a great story and a wonderful read to kick off a new series by Mickey Miller. I absolutely loved this story. From the humorous way they meet and are matched up as room mates in an all male dorm to the way they became friends and then let down their walls to the attraction they had for one another, I was hooked. They became close and were able to be themselves with one another like they could not with others. They seem to understand each other on a different level than they did with anyone else. As the more time passed the stronger their connection and attraction grew. I loved how DJ was protective at times with Alex as well as possessive. All the secondary characters were great. Alex was able to find a great group of friends as was DJ. I was left wondering who might be the next pair to fall for one another. The chemistry between Alex and DJ was so steamy and passionate. I loved the way they were able to find their HEA.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
One turn of the doorknob and Alex and DJ have their worlds upended. It seems that Fate is a cruel commander. Alex is a tempting goddess and DJ is the mold for all things god like. When it’s evident that these two really will be roommates, the games and battles begin. Flirting, clothing rules, dating rules, and jealousy ensue. Nothing in common but so alike. But DJ supposedly crosses a line that is unacceptable to Alex.
This story aptly portrays the college experiences of so many young adults. The vast differences in social class, backgrounds, hometowns, and beliefs.
Take a bit and open your mind to this story.
More Than Meets the Eye….
Mickey Miller completely changed my mind about College and Sports Romance books. I have only read a couple of this genre, but I am now looking forward to this new series.
First impressions are deceiving when you first meet DJ Dalton. You assume he is full of himself and does not have a care in the world. As we learn, that is so far from the truth. When DJ finds out his roomie in College is Alex (a woman) he is flabbergasted. She is sexy, gorgeous and a woman full of fire. How is he ever going to survive this situation. The immediate chemistry he feels for her throws him off balance, but in a good way.
Alex cannot believe her bad luck being stuck in a living arrangement with DJ Dalton, Superstar Quarterback of Green State University. Yes, he is magnificent to look at and those abs, lick worthy but he has a reputation of being a jock and a jerk that comes from a perfect family, lots of money and an overinflated ego.
This was a story of how not to judge someone by what you have heard about one’s character. Alex and DJ discover together what is real and what is fabrication. I am intrigued to discover what lies ahead in this series.
A very relatable young romance novel. This was very well written, and I loved how well all the characters in this book were portrayed. DJ and Alex’s story was hard for me to put down. I just wanted to keep reading and reading. Amazing work as usual from Mickey Miller.
Love these college/sports/enemies to lovers romance books. Mickey did an amazing job transporting you there to see how everything unfolds between these characters. Alex and DJ are so cute together. Guaranteed to keep your attention.
This opposites attract college sports romance offers a great storyline that keeps you turning the pages, characters that you can’t help but care for, drama, some humor, sizzling chemistry, witty banter, secrets, rumors, angst, twists, misunderstandings and plenty of heat.
I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
Excellent book by an amazing doctor
This book had me locked in from the first few pages. Being a female and having to live in the same dorm room as the hot and sexy football QB DJ Dalton is a double edged sword. Not only do the sparks fly from the minute their eyes connect but a hatred also happens. But can Alex room with a man and not be sexually attracted to him? Can your hate for an individual become so much more? Totally entertaining and one you wil not ever forget this is another great read by Mickey Miller.
Wow, this book was really good! Throughout the book, we saw DJ and Alex’s relationship move through all different phases but somehow not lose the relationship they had before. I think my favorite part about their relationship was the respect that was still present even when they hated each other. This book was super relatable with how the main characters handle their trauma well and not well. While I was reading this book, a lot of the lessons and advice given throughout the book lined up with issues in my life and I loved the connection I felt to the characters because of it! I highly recommend this book and cannot wait till the next one!
