Have you heard the rumor about campus celebrity DJ Dalton? No, not the one about number of the zeros in his bank account. Or the one about his father, the head football coach. Or even the one about his special talent between the sheets.I’m talking about the one where he has a female roommate in an all-male dorm.I can’t speak to the first three, but that fourth one is true. I know because that girl … is true. I know because that girl in his room is me.
Because of an error by the college, I’m placed with Mr. Campus Celebrity in the traditionally male dorm.
Is he panty-meltingly handsome with an attitude to match? Sure.
Do I accidentally fanaticize about him one (okay, maybe two) times? Fine, I’m honest enough to admit it.
None of that matters, because we’re opposites in all the ways that are important for getting along as college roommates:
He comes from a perfect life and old money. I come from a broken home and bowls of ramen.
He’s at Greene State to party. I’m here to study.
He’s a popular jock. I wouldn’t be caught dead playing sports.
To say we get off to a rocky start would be an understatement.
Ironically, that’s what causes our sizzling attraction to boil over one night. But even that comes at a price.
Because our story has a twist neither of us could see coming.
One that changes both of our lives, ‘till death do us part.

Another great sports romance from Mickey!
I absolutely fell in love with this brand new series with fun new characters in this steamy, slow burn that I enjoyed fiercely!! Two polar opposites brought together by chance, can’t fight their burning attraction, and watching them fall was a wonderful escape. A host of twists ensue, layered personalities gave us a deeper understanding, and I cannot wait for more!! Strong, sexy female lead, and a complicated, hottie of a love interest I couldn’t help but to fall for. You’re going to want to dive head first and not stop!! I thank the Author for providing a copy to review!!

Awesome read. I read it straight through. It was amazing.
A new New Adult College romance from Mickey Miller. Alex has been looking forward to her first year of college and meeting her new roommate. But imagine her surprise when, due to an influx of new students, she’s put in Dalton Hall with the BMOC, DJ Dalton. (And, no, the name is not a coincidence.) Alex and DJ get on each other’s nerves so badly over the course of a month or so, neither of them initially wishing to have the other as a roommate. But Alex is told by Student Services that she is lucky to have a room at all so she’s not high on the list to get a room reassignment. So she and DJ decide to make things work because they have to live together for the rest of the school year. Alex also meets two girls whom she becomes good friends with and DJ meets his tribe as well. All in all, this was an entertaining read about a slice of life that I haven’t experienced and so I’m glad I get the chance this way. Thanks for that, Mr. Miller.
I never experienced college, so I can’t imagine college life, the new experiences, partying, and drama. And I sure can’t imagine a single female lodging for a college year in an all male dorm. I was impressed with how Alex handled the situation in an adult like manner. It had to be hard rooming with DJ, the new, highly acclaimed football quarterback, but she adapted and dealt with it. I enjoyed the characters and the relationships that were formed.
Took me a little longer to read this story as I took 2 days out to attend NNAE2021 in Nashville, TN, and had the opportunity to meet up with this fine author!
Book was somewhat entertaining. Plot was very slow in developing and took too long to get anywhere. Author just kept repeating the same points. Was just an okay read for me.
You never knew where this story would take you but you thoroughly enjoyed the ride!
Reading the next one in this series now!
This book was so addicting! I had to finish it in one sitting and then reread the ending again before calling it good. If you’re looking for a romantic, funny and all around amazing story with wonderful characters, then I highly recommend this book. It’s my first by the author and I will definitely be reading more.
Hatemates is the first standalone in the Forever You series.
Final Rating: 5 Stars
Loved this story. Alex and Dj have quite the rocky beginning. First her being mistaken for a guy on admission placement for her dorm and winding up as his roommate. They are both attracted tj each other right out of the gate, but Alex has some preconceived notions (judging a book by its cover) that make them think he isn’t her type. He is intrigued by her, her tattoos, and body and personality. They start a tentative relationship and then rumors ruin their foundation for awhile but their sexual tension and connection never wavers. I really live their relationship. They are like best friends with how they easily talk and support each other. They have been though a lot but have overcome a lot. Looking forward to grant and mayas book.
I love Alex and Djs story. Alex arrives at collage freshman year and because of her name is assigned to the guys dorm. Her roommate is the football star Dj. They have chemistry, and there is humor throughout the story. It’s a good story where you shouldn’t judge someone based on surface appearances because you don’t know what’s going on in there life. I loved all the secondary characters, and look forward to reading any one of their stories!
This was my first read by Mickey and I thoroughly enjoyed every word. In fact, I’m wondering what rock I’ve been living under that I hadn’t read him sooner.
This book was full of fun but even more, I LOVED how he wrote each and every character this story. Not just the main couple but all the supporting actors in this story were all just as awesome. I’m anxious to read the next book in this series, Kiss King, and more by Mickey in the future.
Hatemates by Mickey Miller
Touchdown!! What a great read. I started this book yesterday and finished by bedtime! This was all consuming, I love that. I wanted to see these characters through from the very first chapter. Alex is a college student who got thrown into a male dorm by accident. Now she’s stuck with the big man on campus DJ. Quarterback, cocky, sexy as sin, and sleeping right in the next bed. I don’t even have to say anymore for you to want to pick this book up!! Wonderfully written. The writer really understands how to sculpt his story. This is a good sports romance with an enemies to lovers vibe. Who doesn’t enjoy perfect chemistry, hot moments, humor and a happily ever? Definitely excited for the next book in this series!!!!! Mickey Miller
I so enjoyed this book! I’m not sure what my favorite part is about this book, the game that DJ and Alex play with each other, the banter between all the friends or the part of knowing there’s more to the golden family then it seems. Dj comes from Greene State Royalty. His grandparents met there and fell in love, they also screwed the next generation but I’m guessing with how awful their son was, it was a good thing. Back to Dj, he came to Green State despite being cheated on to play football. What he wasn’t expecting was to have a girl roommate and for her to change his world completely. There’s secrets in the family that nobody knows. Everyone just assumes they are perfect. Alex comes from a horrific past but was raised by an incredible Aunt. She has dreams of helping others who have been thru similar traumas just like her. She wasn’t counting on having a guy roommate either. Thankfully she found some girls to friend and hang out with. With her and Dj, the tensions are high with them. They fight due to rumors flying and not knowing truly who they are. The more times they spend together, they find out the truth about each other. There’s a slow burn before they get together but it’s all worth it I swear. I REALLY loved all the characters, minus Dj’s dad and Jessica. Everybody just brought their energy and it worked together so well. This group of friends obviously have fun together and look out for one another. There’s a love and a family feel between them. I really loved this book and the characters in it! It was great book with fun moments!!
A fine line…
Hate Mates or room mates. Same thing when it’s these two. Too bad the arguing, disagreement, and disappointment don’t hinder the lust brewing between them.
They say there’s a fine line between love and hate…
I am 53 & I really liked this book even though the characters were in college! Plus I started reading another book from this author on my kindle. I got to 16% read & just could not continue. That was a book I would want my $$ back for!
OMG Mickey I loved this book. Once again you knocked it out the park.
Loved the start to this new series… and adored the secondary characters as much as I loved DJ and Alex.
DJ and Alex had great chemistry and were hot together.
I do agre with some other reviewers… DJ (who was apparently a star quarterback) would never have been left out of the starting lineup for the whole season because of a grudge while the team was losing. Coach would have been replaced immediately. But since I’m not a football fan… I don’t care about specifics. Made for a good story.
Story left me wanting more… bring on the next one
Alex and DJ are roommates in an all guy college dorm. The only problem is Alex is very much a female. They are instantly attracted to each other but a misunderstanding makes them keep there distance. The attraction doesn’t go away but just when the they start getting closer can they go forward. Great characters and storyline. Highly recommended. Great book loved Alex and DJ and the crew of friends.

Being someone who has recently graduated from college I love books that are set in college and have a crazy love story! When I first started to read about DJ and Alex I thought about what I would do if I was in Alex’s situation and I know there is no way I would be able to handle the situation how she did! u2063

I really like how strong Alex is as a person, especially with all the things she went through when growing up! Then learning what DJ has gone through with his home life makes them such a great team! u2063

I can not wait to see what happens in the next book since there was a lot of family drama and boy drama in this first book!
I enjoyed this book but there were things that kind of rubbed me the wrong way too. Alex has these two best friends and one is a sex fiend and I felt like she flirted with DJ at times and honestly, if she was that great of a friend, would she be flirting with the guy you really like? There were situations or when they were talking I was afraid something was going to happen but thankfully it never did. I really did enjoy this book and yes, there may have been some holes in there but overall it was an enjoyable read and I would definitely read more from this author!
