I never thought my perp walk would lead to true love. Then again, I never thought I’d be arrested on RICO charges and hauled away in zip ties on camera for the world to see, minutes after closing the most amazing deal of my career. And all of it in front of my biggest rival, billionaire wunderkind Ian McCrory.I am broke.I am disgraced.I am alone.I am a sucker. But the worst part? I have to go back … am a sucker.
But the worst part? I have to go back to my hometown and live in my bedroom filled with relics from my childhood.
Lisa Frank never made me so mad before.
Just when I needed a rescue, I got one — in the form of help from my biggest rival.
He can’t bring back my money.
He certainly can’t bring back my reputation or my pride.
But there’s one thing he can bring back to me.
A sense of hope.
Maybe even love.
Ian sees something in me no one else does, and he’s relentless about making me see it, too. As we grow closer, I’m starting to see that while my entire life used to be a lie, the truth is staring me in the present — and it’s a truth I like very, very much, hot eyes and gorgeous smile and all.
But I have to be careful.
I can’t be too —
That’s right.
Hasty.
The final book in the USA Today bestselling Do-Over Series (Fluffy, Perky, Feisty), as Mallory’s sister, Hastings “Hasty” Monahan gets her turn at a happily ever after that starts off with an arrest.
Hers.
And ends with a surprisingly cheesy happily ever after.

Julia Kent bringing it yet again in the way that only SHE can. This entire series has been a runaway hit with readers.
4.5 Stars
Guys! This entire series is wonderful and so much fun! You’ll be laughing nonstop!
Hasty has it all! The character banter is fun and witty, the chemistry is off the charts steamy and I promise you’ll fall in love with Hastings and Ian!
Julia Kent has written the ideal romance read for the summer!
Julia Kent finishes her Do Over series with Hasty, and hits it out the park! Hilarious, cute as hell, sweet and sexy, it’s a perfect read!
I love a story that leaves you wanting to read it again straight away as it ticks all your boxes. Funny and witty . Wonderful characters . Character growth . Amazing friends and family .
I couldn’t put this book down. I think the last time I laughed so hard was with Feisty the last Julia Kent book I read. A perfect feel good read.
Adored this sexy, fun, laugh out loud yet heartwarming journey filled with engaging and fun charters that I have grown to love over this series and has some of the best one-liners ever! Could not put this highly entertaining and emotionally thrilling adventure down for a moment. Loved it!
SPOILER ALERT:
Hasty, ahem Hastings, lives life large and in charge. She’s blunt, she’s powerful, and she’s got a lot of attitude. Her husband(?) total scam artist and crook. The characters continue through this series to bring good comical relief and watch a power broker of a woman, focused on nothing but success lose EVERYTHING. Only to find it where she refused to look…and they’re just meant to be together…with cheese.
Another fantastic romantic comedy from Julia Kent that will keep you laughing and loving her fantastic character development.
I was provided an ARC for my honest review.
I just love Julia Kent! She always makes me laugh! You can’t go wrong with this series.
Another hilarious addition to this amazing series. Seeing Hastings seek redemption and find her true self again was heartwarming to witness. As usual this author had me falling hard for the characters right from the very beginning. I am extremely sad to see this series end, but the ride to get here was fantastic.
I love Hasty so much! I will never not smile every time I think about Hastings Monahan, her epic fall from the top, moving back home with her parents, her ex, and the cow thing. Bonus, Ian McCrory is a total swoon fest of a hero. Ten thousand stars!
For those who have read the entire series you will remember that Hasty is not a nice person. Things are about to change for Hasty and returning to her hometown with her parents, her sister, and her sister’s friends is not easy. A legal scandal, a wayward husband, and an unlikely benefactor is just about more than Hasty can take.
This is a great conclusion to this series. The characters from the previous books all play a big part in this book. This book made me laugh, made me sad a couple of times, but always kept me interested and entertained.
Complex, Emotive But Life Changing & Witty!!
Romance Of The Heart, Mind, Body & Soul!
Hasty (Do-Over #4)
I didn’t like Hastings ‘Hasty’ Monahan, she wasn’t likable. She was bitchy, abrasive & snooty, she looked down on her family, their friends & worshipped at the altar of the Dollar!! Then her entire world is brought crashing down around her ears when she’s arrested on RICO & Financial Fraud charges and it all plays out on TV!! It turns out her ‘husband’ was a complete conman from before she ever met him let alone married him, he’s fled the Country & left her to take the fall for everything!!
Returning to her childhood home, tail between her legs, heart & soul as broken as her bank balance, Hastings has to try to start her life over again. Those things she’s always derided, like emotional connection, friends, doing things because you love them – she slowly starts to see they aren’t what she believed & belittled her family for. They’re real, heartfelt, earnest & truly caring people, their jobs fulfil them in ways hers never did. Her job made her a barracuda, she’d lost her soul, love and kindness. Now she has to try to refind it & see if she can make some amends along with genuine connections again, starting with her little sister!!
Hasty finally came good! The Author really took her & us, the reader, on a journey throughout this book. Change was not a natural process for this character, to say the least. She didn’t actually realise how vile she was being a lot of the time though, it turned out! She’d become so immersed in her cutthroat world she turned on her analytical brain put up her shield of self defence & forgot to ever take them back off!! Her process of self discovery was painful & enlightening, her ex had played a massive part in who’d she’d allowed herself to become. Peeling those layers back, along with her family & new friends, especially Ian, her old business rival turned new boss & possible love interest, was emotional!!
The world building throughout this series has been, as ever, superb. The characters were so well fleshed out, described and constructed they became a real group of friends! I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the wit & snark through each of the books, it’s a series to savour!!

A Humorous Starting Over Story!!
Hastings is closing the biggest deal of her life. Seven figures. The next moment she loses everything. Her husband steals everything and makes it look like she is the culprit. Well husband isn’t accurate because they never really married, as he had a few wives before her and never bothered to get a divorce.
Back in her parent’s house, sleeping in a twin bed, unable to get a job as she is nationally known as a thief. And go! While this premise may seem depressing, this story is anything but. It is a riotous journey which includes characters from the previous books in this series. Pure entertainment!!
If you need a laugh (and who doesn’t?) you can never go wrong with Julia Kent!
I received this book with the understanding that I could leave a voluntary and honest review.
In this book we meet Hasting Monahan and Ian McCrory. Hasting hasn’t heard from her husband in 3 days. That doesn’t seem to bug her much since she has been working on a big project herself. That is until she signs the deal and at the same time finds out all her credit cards don’t work and she is being arrested. If that wasn’t the icing on the cake her nemesis Ian McCrory comes in to save the day with the bill. Things go from bad to worse at this point. She finds out her husband has been running a ponsi scam and using her name and credit to do it. She also finds out that though she has a marriage license and a wedding video she isn’t really married to her husband since he was already married. So she ends up back in her childhood bedroom with $700 to her name and no hope with any job prospects. That is until Ian comes back into her life. Is Ian in this for love or just to kick her while she is down since they have competed for most things in business?
This is another hit out of the park by this author. This is the final book in this series and can be read as a stand alone. However I would recommend reading them in order just so you don’t ruin any surprises. This book does have its ups and downs I really want to tell you about. However I don’t want to ruin the story for any other readers. I will say this book will have you hooked from the first word to the very end. I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.
“Hasty” is the last book in the Do-Over series by Julia Kent. And once again, Ms. Kent delivers an amazingly well written book. She has a heightened sense of language (that’s the best way I can describe it) that creates a whole world for you. While this is not my favorite book in the series, that would be “Fluffy”, Hastings story is beautifully written with some amazing moments that are truly emotional. (The world of finance had me one step removed from the characters but this is still an exceptional read.)
A definite read!
This was a a wonderful end to the series. It’s not necessary to read the previous books, but I would recommend it. Hasty is not the person I thought she was when I first started this book. Honestly, I didn’t care for her at the beginning bug by the end, Hasty let me know how I had misjudged her completely. Come on, someone that knows how important taco proportion is can’t be all bad, right 😉 I loved this book and loved the series!
Julia Kent always writes an amazing story. And the final book in this series was no different.
Hastings Monahan is at the very top in her field, until she’s hauled away in handcuffs. Now she’s back in her home town, living with her parents, and trying to start her life over again.
But being the face of a financial scandal from her husband/not husband has everyone looking at her with pity
There is one guy who hasn’t given up on Hastings, he has stalked her back to her home town to offer her a job.
Ian McCrory. The man was her nemesis. Now he is showing up anywhere she is in the little suburb of Massachusetts.
Trying not show weakness she continually rejects Ian’s offer until it’s brought to her attention to take Ian’s job offer.
In between all of her issues with dealing with the con her non-husband pulled on her, working for Ian, and starting over she starts to connect with her parents, her sister Mallory and her friends.
She starts to understand that’s her viper attitude is just a front and realizes her jealousy of her sisters friendship.
Can the California Viper of the financial world survive her descent back into the small town she worked so hard to flee from?
Very sad this is the final book of this series because I want more. Could not put it down.
This is the fourth and last book in the Do-Over Series, an amazing Romantic Comedy. I LOVE this Series! You can read Hasty as a standalone, but believe me, you don’t want to miss one book in the Series. Hastings “Hasty” is Mallory’s sister, and we met her in Fluffy, and she was such a mean character! I love how the author redeems her in this story! She is feisty, talkative, hilarious, strong, independent, capable, and smart. Ian is handsome, supportive, and caring. I love his determination to help Hasty. The supporting characters are amazing. Hasty’s parents are wonderful characters! The storyline is intriguing, hilarious, and beautiful. This is my favorite story in the Series. Hasty and Ian are wonderful characters, and we get to see all the previous characters from Fluffy, Perky and Feisty! I would love to revisit it in audiobook (narrated by Erin Mallon!). Looking forward for more books written by Julia Kent.
I started this book with the second in the series and have been hooked ever since. Although I really need to go back and read the first because this series is addicting. A group of friends who are hilarious, loyal, and who all have been through something make for a wonderful series. Experiencing their journey to not only being comfortable with themselves and falling in love is one that will have you flipping the pages and wanting more and more of their stories.
Finally we get Hasty’s story. She has always come off as the b*tch and being able to see more of her was great. I never expected it to go the way it did. I was shocked and angry on her behalf. I loved the journey she goes down not only with overcoming the hurt, betrayal and everything else but her journey to finding her happiness and her true self. The heartbreak, lies, the persistence of her one time rival, well just everything in this book is one that will have your heart breaking and then putting all the pieces together and just leaving you speechless.
Julia Kent did such a great job with everyone of these books. Definitely a must read book. You don’t have to read the others to enjoy this book but they are worth it too.
This is Hasty, book 4 of the Do-Over series written by Julia Kent. Ms Kent always delivers with an original funny and steamy book. Hasty has been a cast member in the rest of the series but now it’s time for her story. She has been through hell and is back at her parents house trying to recover from the very public scandal. Time for change, growth and reevaluation. All successfully written by Ms. Kent. And lets not forget her nemesis Ian. Mr cool as a cucumber, hot as Hades, and sneaky, don’t forget sneaky. He is in hot pursuit of Hasty and she isn’t sure if she should run, or run faster. Oh and be sure to pay attention when she visits the dairy farm…. LOL! I’m really sad to see this series end because I love this group of friends. Read on and enjoy!
