The genius and the sunshine girl. As children, we fought bitterly and often, bickering every chance we got.
But then we grew up.
Then we came back.
Delphine Dansey carries her heart on the outside of her body; she’s looking for love and chasing dreams. She’s spoiled and selfish, the kind of beautiful that’s made for money and fame. But somehow she’s ended up in my keeping: a pretty submissive I … pretty submissive I can’t seem to resist, a lover who obsesses and tempts me.
I thought I’d locked my heart away a long time ago, along with all my other weaknesses. But some doors won’t stay closed, no matter how hard I fight to keep them shut. She unravels me, just like our friends are unraveling, just like Thornchapel itself is unraveling.
All year long, we’ve been sowing lust and jealousy and pain, heedless of the consequences. But a harvest is inevitable, and so now we must reap our sorrows.
And our sighs.
Harvest of Sighs is Book Three in the Thornchapel series.

OM-FREAKING-G what an amazing journey this series has been! I poured over every word, every letter, I mean YES it is HOT AF but its the mystery unfolding that just sucks you right in. Abandon all hope ye who enter this secret twisty crazy ride, because I can promise you there is nothing else getting done for the foreseeable future once you enter Thornchapel!
Now getting down to it, this is obviously not a standalone, so we pick up where we left off with FoS. Things are tense between Poe, Auden, and Saint Sebastian since the ritual. Poe is still trying to figure out the whole Mom thing WHILE in the middle of St. Sebastian and Auden’s issues. There is angst and heartache galore trying to navigate through their mess.
Delphine and Rebecca seemingly are stronger, strong enough to face the trials ahead remains to be seen. I feel like each of them brings some form of toxic baggage into the mix, now they are trying to decide how much is too much? They are both more stubborn than either has a right to be but hopefully thats something they will figure out in time.
Beckett, ah, Becket Hess. His personal journey remains the one I’m most interested in. How can a man of Faith reconcile the two different directions he is being pulled in? His inner conflict/crisis of conscience (or lack of) is just fascinating. Oh how much I hated leaving this one behind guys. With so much going on I was really hopeful that my Kindle was lying and that maybe there were a few more words there to tide me over until Halloween! Definitely a must read guys!
….sigh…book three in the Thornchapel Series is here and Delphine and Rebecca are back and front in center in this kick in the pants. First and most importantly, I do STRONGLY recommend you read the first two books before starting this. While you can read this as a standalone, I feel you will get much more out of the characters and the story line if they are read in order.
Now back to the good stuff. There is so much to this book and to the series, but of course with the cliffhanger in the last book we were all waiting with batted breath to see what would unfold. Well fellow readers, I can say without spoilers that this one is going to entice you just as much as the previous two books.
While Delphine and Rebecca are strong characters in this book, we also get so much more of the background, plot and history that comes with the series, as well as the others we have come to know in the series. Becket, Sebastian and Proseprina are all key in this as well. In Harvest Sigh, you experience the most emotional journey of the three books, the anger, the fear and the curiosity of what comes next. It’s intense to say the least, I was on the edge of my kindle for most of this book.
Harvest Sigh devils into to Delphine and Rebecca’s Dom and Sub relationship. These two women are a strangely perfect pair. We receive a look into Rebecca’s past and how she became a Domme as well as a look into what makes Delphine tick.
Towards the end of the book, we learn new things and Thornchapel is starting to crumble. The past is slowly coming to light, and the six friends are tested in ways they never knew. So much happens in this series and spoilers are so easy to ruin the best parts. For those readers who love a good mystery, suspense and passionate relationships, this is one for you.
One more left in the series and then it’s finished…how and I going to go on!
4.5-stars.
In Harvest of Sighs by Sierra Simone we go back to the Thornchapel world. Tough this one focuses heavily on Delphine and Rebecca; this is truly the story of sex characters and I was so excited to pick this one up after the ending of the last book. As we learn more, we also have so many questions. The story and the characters are just so compelling and captivating.
Though there is more going on around all the characters, this time around we delve more into the relationship of sorts between Delphine and Rebecca. Though there is something there between them, yet they struggle with trust and openness. This story was emotional and full of surprises. I cannot wait to see where it all ends!
Read and reviewed for Sultry Sirens Book Blog.
Happy reading!
An insatiable, complex cast of characters that draws you in! The story continues and you won’t be disappointed! The obstacles. The heated passion. The insane chemistry! I can’t wait until the last book!
WHYYyyyYyyyy!
TRANSLATION~
Why do I bleed for these characters?
Dear Saint, my heart is shackled to your conflict and pain.
Auden, your abundance of arrogance makes me want to slap or kiss you.
Poe, your open heart is a soothing balm.
Rebecca, I see you.
Delphine, sing, girl, sing your glory.
Becket, I saved the best for last. You’re the dark horse, alongside Saint for my heart.
Sierra Simone’s haunting words will not leave me..come on, Door of Bruises, I’m ready for you.
The Thornchapel 6 spills more secrets.
It’s been a long, looongg eight months since I read A Feast Of Sparks, the second book in this thrilling four-part series. But, Sierra Simone made the anticipation worthwhile. This book will hit the list for my ‘book of the year’ and my even top it, at least until I get my hands on the next one. Hehe.
Also, for those unaware, this is most definitely NOT a standalone, you need to read A Lesson In Thorns and A Feast Of Sparks first. Plus, if you only like your stories in the vanilla flavor, then this series is not for you.
But, if you love kink. Then proceed.
I couldn’t wait to find out what was coming next after the mind-blowing cliffhanger in book 2, and Ms. Simone waded those waters with a fine hand. Her writing is sumptuous and decadent, dark and twisted, and oh, so deliciously sensual.
The characters still have a lot to face, more drama, more revelations, and more… steamy interludes. Auden still leads the storyline, with Saint and Proserpina following close at hand. Becket is still in communion with God and falling in love with his friends, while Delphine and Rebecca garner more time with their separate relationship but it’s not without its flaws and trials.
I couldn’t get enough of this story, it held me captive in its seductive claws until the climactic end. Now, it’s a waiting game until ‘Door Of Bruises’ opens in late fall. I don’t know how I’ll survive until then!!!
I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie’s Book Reports.

This is the third book in the Thornchapel Series. You have to read A Lesson in Thorns, and Feast of Sparks before reading Harvest of Sighs or you are going to be lost. This book has to be one of the more emotional of the three and let me tell you that your kindle just might be melting out of your very hands. There are a lot of characters and they are really becoming more and more involved with each other Proseprina, St Sebastian, Father Becket, Delphine and Rebecca are about to see that the past and the present and history are twisted and what draws them to Thornchapel. There is also a ton of information that kinds of got a little mind boggling trying to remember it all but if you had questions I am sure you might just get some answers out of this book. I loved have these characters are all having some really sensual relationships and they will keep you breathless. There is one more book in this series to go and I for one can not wait to find out how this series ends.
Harvest of Sighs by Sierra Simone is book Three in the Thornchapel Series. This continues the story of the 6 friends but highlights the story of Delphine and Rebecca. I do strongly feel you should read the previous books ‘A Lesson in Thorns’ and ‘Feast of Sparks’ before starting this one. Although each book does highlight different ones in the books they all intermingle with each other which leads to those cliffhangers. This book touches on a lot of issue that they go through. This book along with the series is a very exciting read. Can’t wait for the next installment in their story.
Why is there another book still to go? The story here heats up and you need to make sure you have read the previous books or you won’t understand what is going on. Most of the focus in this book is on Delphine and Rebecca but the others appear as well and it’s another wild ride. This is intense, sexy, passionate with some other twists you won’t see coming and why is the next book not out yet?!
These six characters Beckett , Delphine , Rebecca . Auden, Proserpina and St. Sebastian are again situated inside my head…
Book three gives some answers , more answers on their rituals their ceremonies which have happened in the past with their parents with a sinister twist..
More has opened up about their parents how they met what they did on nights they held rituals .
Do these six make the same mistakes are the generation before?
Such a complex book with each character being strong with a huge story within themselves.
Dark , erotic, with explicit sexual scenes these six come to life before your eyes .
It is all entwining with love and lust and more love bringing a collision of the past with the present
Such a wonder read I don’t want these books to finish … they are mesmerising .
It is important to read these books in order..
What a wonderful author you are Sierra Simone.
The Thornchapel series is like none other I’ve read. Sierra Simone takes us to another world filled with lust, love, friendship, old rituals and shock that has your heart beating along with each of the six characters.
New news comes to light that threatens to ruin everything they’ve built since returning to Thornchapel. Can they look past it, work around it and move on? Or will this be the demise?
Harvest of Sighs ended on a cliffhanger that’ll have me praying for Halloween so I can know what happens.
I am just speechless after finishing Harvest of Sighs, but in the best way possible. Sierra Simone has once again given us a masterfully written tale that takes us on this journey from present and past, following our six beloved characters as they navigate their way from Beltane to Lammas. There is love, connections, restraint, hurt, anger, brokenness, and a whole host of other emotions as they all figure out their place in their odd and strange and very beautiful relationship as friends and lovers.
Yes, this story focuses more on the relationship of Rebecca and Delphine and each of their struggles with being in such a place, but we also get to see more of Proserpina, Auden, Saint, and Becket. And finally we learn a little bit more about the mysteries of the thorn chapel that has it’s grip on each and every one of our characters.
Gosh, I’m not sure there is anything I could say that hasn’t been said over and over both in my own reviews and in others. Sierra just has this wonderful freaking ability to weave all this lore, this myth, this history into the now, giving us this wonderful beautiful, yet somehow tragic world. All of our characters have so much depth to them. Each story builds on each person, their strengths, their weaknesses, their power over others and each other. Each corner they turn brings more answers but in turn brings more questions not only about the future, but about their pasts AND their presents. We already know that there are many configurations of relationships within the story, friendships, siblings, parents, more than friends. We already know that this IS Sierra Simone, so not unexpectedly, we have a huge steam factor driven not only by lust, by lore or by ritual but also by such deep love. There is not one main character to hate, to despise or to dislike. There are only characters that you want…no NEED to know more about…no matter how much you think you already know…Sierra has some surprises hidden for us. The wait until The Door of Bruises will be excruciating and exhilarating in equal measure.
I’m in awe of this magnificent totally enchanting creation!
From Auden,St. Sebastian, and Poe to Rebecca, Delphine, and Father Hess, the beautiful complexity of these characters with their captivating dynamic makes for one deeply unique and compelling love story! It’s so delicious you won’t be able to put it down!!!
As this series continues I fall more and more in love with these characters, the setting, and the story. Sierra Simone’s writing completely sucks you into this world she has created and I am living for it.
The mysteries, the suspense, the twists, the turns, the love, the steam, lies, truths, and secrets continue throughout Harvest of Sighs. While some things were revealed throughout the course of the book, so many more things came up.
Rebecca and Delphine are a couple and their Domme/submissive relationship is everything I wanted and more. The chemistry they have together is off the charts. I love their relationship. The struggles they experience, the highs and lows of their relationship. I love Becket. The priest. The man who is struggling with his feelings for Poe. You can feel his pain, his emotions, his love throughout. Of course, Auden, Poe and St. Sebastian continue to navigate through their relationship together.
I love how each of the six plays a major role in the story. They each bring something so different and each play a different role in the mystery that is Thornchapel. I love the bond and chemistry between everyone. I love seeing everyone’s lives at Thornchapel, but also seeing their lives outside of it and how everyone’s lives are so connected.
After the ending of this book and the wait for the next one I don’t know If want to be angry because of how this one ended, cry because the end is coming or be happy that all secrets will hopefully be revealed soon.
Harvest of Sighs, along with the previous books in the series are MUST READ! These should be read in order.
And the epic Thornchapel saga continues in Harvest if Sighs!
Ancient rituals, forbidden desires, complex relationships are all part of the woven tapestry of this incredible story.
Sierra Simone paints a story in beautiful pictures with a continuous dark thread running through as the past collides and influences the present and where the destiny of these six people has been predetermined.
I love the complexity of this story. It keeps you hanging onto the edge of your seat wondering how it is all going to unfold but at the end of this book we are left with so many unanswered questions and a can’t wait for the next book in this series to finally have the full picture of this complex story!
Stellar, Beautiful and Haunting! Elizabeth @ Carolina Chic’s Read
This is a story of six people who are destined to come together! Some to love, some for friendship, some due to longing… but all due to destiny! This is book three in the series and after reading I am left with so many questions and more than I get answers to while reading the third book. So much is unfolding that is beyond any of their control and they can do nothing to stop it.
I cannot wait for the conclusion to this series!
5 Wanting Stars!
Harvest of Sighs by Sierra Simone is book three of The Thornchapel Quartet, these are not stand-alone books and must be read in order. This book was over the top intense, but in a deliciously good way. It is not a book for the faint of heart, the scenes described are incredibly sexual and amazing. Simone finally gives us some answers to the questions we have been dying to know but then she turns around and leaves us with more questions. The story is filled with sex, magic and death and it’s because of these three things that make the story so gripping. This book is unique in that there are six main characters, some of them are likable, some of them are lovable but either way the story just isn’t complete without all six of them. After having read the first two books in the series some might think that St. Sebastian is the tortured lost soul out of the group (really, they are all quite tortured) and the one that needs the most looking after. I agree St. Sebastian is lost but my heart broke for Becket Hess. I want more in the next book with Becket and Auden because they were my favorites out of the six, but I have no idea where Simone is going to take us on this book journey. Door of Bruises is due out this Halloween and I do believe that will be very fitting for what we learned in Harvest of Sighs. 5-stars for Harvest of Sighs by Sierra Simone.
(3.4 stars)
Travel back to Thornchapel and
-Auden “Audey” Guest
-St. Sebastian “Saint” Martinez
-Becket “Becky” Hess
-Delaphine “Delph” Dansey,
-Proserpina “Poe ” Markham
-Rebecca “Bex” Quartey. Rebecca wants nothing more than to make Delaphine her pretty pet. Poe still wants answers about her mother and the others want to solve the mysteries revolving around the Thornchapel. With hormones running high between this group can they find the answers they want? As with the other books we get multiple POV plus first and third person which can get a bit confusing at times with so many stories going on. This is a FF, MM, MFM, MF erotic suspense with a few triggers. There is a warning at the beginning of the book. I can’t say much more because it would spoil the story. Sadly this was not my favorite in the series and felt a lot of the scenes could of been cut for more story. If you thought there was a lot of ahem intimacy in the prior book this has 10x MORE!!
