I loved this magical book!!
Best book I’ve read in a long time. And I’m a reader.
Loved these characters… Didn’t want it to end
I really liked this story. Harry and Amanda both lose their spouses, suddenly, on the same day, and a year later they meet by chance and begin to help each other heal. Amanda’s daughter is integral to the story and believes in fairies and reincarnation. A local librarian also plays a big part. The characters were well developed and the story moves quickly. I highly recommend.
An adult who is trying to get his life together follows the crazy advice of an adolescent.
Original, but not advice to strive for.
I love this book!
What a wonderful story! Not what I expected, but really, I don’t know what I expected. Refreshing, sad, sweet, frightening, and so much more. Doesn’t fit into any real genre, except, a MUST READ!
Highly recommend to anyone, regardless of what you may typically read. You won’t be disappointed. Thank you Jon Cohen. You’ve made my day.
I’m so glad Susan Wiggs (whose work I adore!) recommended this original and whimsical story! Magical and wise and filled with heart…characters you can’t help rooting for…such a lovely and lyrical treat. I would have hated to miss it—so glad I didn’t!
A wonderful escape!
Loved this unique novel.
Recommended this book to friends who love really good stories.
Sometimes one needs a smartly written feel-good book, with a hint of magical illusion; this book is perfect
i loved the way it intertwined so many characters and their stories
How many books make you foot want a book to end? And when it does your sorry to leave the new friends you’ve met? A very entertaining and delightful book.
Loved this book!
Harry is a tragic character but the young girls whimsical belief in magic helps him find a way to survive.
I learned information about trees from a foresters point of view so that was informational.
The other characters were well developed. From the quirky librarian to the bully of a brother each of whom had their own need to heal as they interacted with Harry to bring a satisfactory conclusion that was somewhat predictable but not too trite.
This is now one of my favorite books! I was not sure what was going to happen until the end. (I had my hopes but was not sure how it would turn out.). The characters were well-developed and I found myself wanting both main characters to succeed.
A very well written story with lots of plot twists and a surprise ending.
a different kind of book – very refreshing
This was a magical read that reminds you that there is magic in the world (maybe). The characters were interesting and original and complex. The story was not predictable and I loved how it all tied up at the end. Read it – I think you’ll really enjoy it!
