When I read the first two Harry Potter books, I devoured them. As the series matured, they became more and more dark. In the final few books, all the delight is gone and is replaced by fear and mistrust. I felt the ending was unsatisfying because it took so much manipulation to get me there. I went back and reread a number of events and explanations to make sure it actually said what I thought it said. That said, I will probably read them all again someday.

I grew up reading these books, they were my family’s tradition each summer when they were first released! They are still my best friends and I will continually reread them, quote them, and love them.

One of my all-time favorite series of books. Very fun to read and easy to get invested in. It’s the kind of book you love to read and reread again. The start to characters fell like friends and the places start to feel like home. It has very good character development and as the author put it “Hogwarts is my home.”

Very average plot development and writing. I love the Harry Potter series, but this was more fan fiction than part of the world wholly created by Rowling. If you are a die hard fan, it is worth a read.
