“Turning the envelope over, his hand trembling, Harry saw a purple wax seal bearing a coat of arms; a lion, an eagle, a badger and a snake surrounding a large letter ‘H’.”
Harry Potter has never even heard of Hogwarts when the letters start dropping on the doormat at number four, Privet Drive. Addressed in green ink on yellowish parchment with a purple seal, they are swiftly confiscated by his … confiscated by his grisly aunt and uncle. Then, on Harry’s eleventh birthday, a great beetle-eyed giant of a man called Rubeus Hagrid bursts in with some astonishing news: Harry Potter is a wizard, and he has a place at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. An incredible adventure is about to begin!

A one-of-a-kind book! A cornerstone book for the fantasy “magical” genre.
🙂
Love all the Harry Potter books.
Ah, yes. The one that started it all. I loved… LOVED the Harry Potter series. The wit was laugh-out-lout funny, and the characters are so perfect. A great blend of bravery and flaws, plus dedicated friendship that reminded me of some incredible friendships I had growing up. We took great adventures too, so I loved the feel of the storyline. And …
Exceptional writing!
Not much to say about any of the books in this series except for Amazing. I almost exclusively read Horror/Psych Thrillers but Harry Potter 1-7 is probably in my top 25. Great book and even better when you complete the series.
This first of the Harry Potter series is truly a classic. I love the kids who seem to be aged 11 at the start of their adventures at Hogwarts. When you read this book, you’ll be hooked on Harry Potter for life!
Good children’s modern classic.
Always enjoy revisiting the world of Harry Potter and all of the characters. No matter how old I get, this will always be the perfect escape.
Not just for kids! I loved it.

Duh !
Wow! Amazing! F***n loved this book. It was my first-ever Harry Potter story, and I must say the author deserves her fame. Easy to read, has beautiful descriptive detail. Some sentences are gems in creativity, but none of the poetic finesse disrupts the plot. Plotting, worldbuilding, and characters: the central pillars of any book and all in order …
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets…
I’ve read the series I don’t know how many times, (just not since joining Goodreads).
So many anticipated moments. Some emotional and but wrenching others laugh out loud hilarious. So great reliving the stories.
This movie is a family favourite but the book for me is a great story plus has an excellent narrator. This is brilliantly creative and is suitable for all ages which is fantastic.
This book envisions “the-out side-world” from the first place that make us amaze in every detail of story.
Loved. Love. LOVE. HP with my entire heart! Harry and his friends really pull readers in for a wild adventure full or magic and wizardry! A page turner for sure!
All of the Harry Potter books are very readable; they can be read chapter by chapter to younger kids and,of course ,by adults for rollicking good entertainment.
