‘Harpy’s Mission’ is Laura Greenwood’s first book in her “Supernatural Retrieval Agency” series. It’s a quirky, quick, easy read where Harpy and Elias, her partner at the Supernatural Retrieval Agency, are both harpies and that makes their banter back and forth an absolute joy to read. Not so much for their grumpy boss though. Harpy has always wanted to work for the Agency and finally, the day came. Her first week was a bit of a test it seems. A terribly grumpy boss, an overly cheerful co-worker, not being able to capture the bad guy on their first assignment although they did catch a murderer, and then becoming bait for a kidnapping. Oh, and is that a romance forming? I look forward to reading ‘Harpy’s Escape’ next.
I love all things supernatural and am a sucker for the lesser-known supernatural beings. With that being said, I was completely drawn in by the Harpy. This is an action-packed quick read where the police force and the supernatural work together to take down the baddies. Harpies are a rare breed and there aren’t too many around. Once someone finds out what she is they always have something to say and want to see her shift. She is rather annoyed by this, but her wit and snark keep everyone on their toes. It’s Harper’s first day on the job and she is already going out on a job. Things go awry but they are able to obtain other information that take them to an even bigger crime ring. When things seem too easy, something is usually wrong. Well, the team soon finds the chink in the armor and things go crazy! I wish there was more back story for Harper and her boss, Elias (I am hoping for more in the next books). Some of the story felt a bit rushed. I do sense an underlying love story happening between Harper and Elias, so YAY! I love that a member of their team ended up being a cupid because we never hear about them in the supernatural community. This is a new author for me, but this story definitely has me intrigued.
This was a decent read. I liked the last book I read from this author so I thought I’d try another one. I liked Harper well enough. However, it bugged me a little that I didn’t feel we get to know Harper at all. It starts with her starting her job and then jumps into the case. When the conflict with the second one comes up, I had no idea why she was more take charge than her partner and she had only been there several days. Overall, though, I did enjoy the story. I recommend.

This is a great start to this wonderful series, wonderful characters, outstanding storyline can’t wait to read the next one.
This is a great urban fantasy in the Supernatural Retrieval Agency Series. It’s a fun, fast paced with lots of action, mystery and suspense. Harper is our female mc and she is witty and confident and eager to start her new job with the agency. Of course a few things go awry , there’s twists and turns, fun banter and great characters and I look forward to the next book!
Harpy’s Mission is an upbeat, quick-paced story about Harper, the Harpy. The book starts with her first day at a new job in law enforcement, one of the many paranormal departments that exist in Laura Greenwood’s world. Harper is confident and eager, something that doesn’t go unnoticed by Elias, her boss. There’s a lot of banter, famous lasagna, and an exciting chase after an invisible crime boss. The balance between the action and the romance is satisfying, and there are some awesome side-characters with big personalities in this story.
A bit tongue in cheek, more lighthearted take on a police procedural complete with boring stake out. Harper landed her dream job and has quite a chip on her shoulder. From day one she is thrown into situations testing her mettle. Will her hard earned skills and instincts be enough to outweigh her inexperience? Especially in a situation that is anything but normal and getting stranger by the day.
Fun fast read with a lot of action, a bit of mystery and a possibility of slow burn romance. Harper is thrown in a new situation so you kind of figure things out right alongside her. This is a read where I wanted more. I felt like it ended just as it was really getting interesting.
This is book 1 of a new series set in Greenwood’s Obscure World. You do not have to have read any other books in this universe to enjoy this read. Cliff hanger ending – to be continued…
Harper has always wanted to join the Supernatural Retrieval Agency. She finally has the opportunity and she is excited. She meets her new partner Elias, who is a harpy too. There are twists and turns to keep you on the edge of your seat. The interactions between Harper and Elias is fun and intriguing. Looking forward to the next book in this series. Harper is a harpy and her dream was to work for the Supernatural Retrieval Agency. This book starts out with Harper and her first day at the agency where she meets Elias her assigned partner and they get their first retrieval mission. When things take a bad turn it’s up to them to figure out what went wrong. Harpy’s Mission is book one and a great start to the Supernatural Retrieval Agency series and I look forward to reading the rest of the series.
Our heroine gets a chance at her dream job, only to get thrown in the deep end on day one. Sink or swim for our girl.
This is book one of the series, so no issues there.
This is an urban fantasy story with a paranormal agency and a harpy as the lead. I liked the setup immediately with the agency providing a nice base of operations. Plus harpies are not a common character type, so that just made it more fun. The story is well written and easy to read. The characters and setting are also well developed and solid, providing great vehicles for the plot. Speaking of which, there are plenty of twists and turns to keep things interesting. All together, this made for a nice start to the series and I an anxious to see where it goes next.
Highly recommended.

Harper had long dreamed of becoming a member of the Supernatural Retrieval Agency, and the book starts with her first day at the agency,.
Here she meets Elias, who was assigned to partner with her on her first mission. It was supposed to be an easy retreaval….
This is the first book of a new series of the Supernatural Retrieval Agency.
It was fun to read, entertaining, a good blend of suspense, sass, and humour. It was engaging the reader from the start, it was easy to identify with Harper, as the story is told in her voice.

This was an interesting read. The female lead was a unique character who was likable and relatable. She was placed in a position she valued, and obviously has situations and issues arise that that she had to overcome. I had a nice time reading this, and was entertained.

A quick read on a series about a group of supernatural investigators. Their first case seems to easy and after a time they find out it is. Is Harper ready to be a supernatural investigator? Only time will tell. This is a quick read.
Harper finally get to work for the Supernatural Retrieval Agency that she’s always wanted, but of course her first day doesn’t go as planned. Harper gets drawn into a dangerous mission. Looking forward to seeing how this series progresses.

This is a Non-Spoiler Review. Harpy’s Mission by Laura Greenwood is the first book in her new Supernatural Retrieval Agency series. I really enjoyed this introduction to Harper and the Agency. The storyline is fast paced and well thought out. Harper and Elias are Harpies and partners and there is some attraction there (This is a Clean Read). And what workplace romance is complete without the requisite grumpy boss?! As you can guess, Harper’s long awaited Dream Job has its challenges and Ms. Greenwood has a knack for taking action, drama, angst and romance and twisting it all together into an addictive and highly entertaining hit! Harpy’s Mission delivers, and I can’t wait to read the next book.

Harper Jones is a harpy and a brand new agent at the Supernatural Retrieval Agency. After only a week, the boss of Harper and her harpy partner, Elias Thompson, orders them to go rescue Regina from someone using the name of Ocypete, or lose their jobs. This is a wonderfully refreshing story that anyone can have fun reading. Recommended.
I really enjoyed this Laura Greenwood story. Like all of her stories it was a short and east read that contained a great and interesting story. It was humorous in parts and held my attention to the very last page. I liked this story because it contained a harpy and I’ve never read a story about a harpy before. I am excited to see what happens in the next story and can’t wait for it to come out!
