First in a new women’s fiction series from the author of Auld Acquaintance!Mavis and Hilary have a common problem. Both retired widows, they’ve reached the point in their lives where it would make most sense to move into a retirement community. Neither want that for their future, however, and they devise a plan to solve all their problems and provide a residence designed exactly to their … designed exactly to their requirements. But it won’t work for just two women–and so the search is on for the perfect companions to share Harmony House.

I enjoyed this story of 6 women who wanted companionship in their later years.
They wanted communal living and decided to buy a large house together. The story goes thru each persons back story just enough that you know who they were. You will like the story and there is no sex, just women around 60.
This was an interesting idea and the characters well drawn. The style of writing was at times stiff or stilled, especially conversations. Still I enjoyed the book and would read the next book in the series
This was a delightful story with wonderful characters. The plot kept the reader interested and the setting was very well described. I would definitely recommend this book!
A book written for traditional older women .. good characterisation.. well written..safe and undemanding
Easy read and entertained
Great book. Kept, my interest. Purchased the sequel.
This kept my attention. Good book .
Loved it. Gave it a five.
Great book, easy to read and great series.
Just ok.
I should have known since there is a series of books that this one might not be complete, but when I looked at the titles in the series I mistakenly guessed they were stand alone books. I did enjoy Harmony House and liked the characters in the story. I don’t necessarily see this as a book that would appeal to a wide range of readers. It is about older women who chose to purchase a home together and live together to help and support each other. I doubt that younger or even middle-aged women who love their independence would find this lifestyle interesting to read about.
I was disappointed that this book ended so abruptly and the author chose to continue the story in another book. Just my opinion, but I feel that it is a money making ploy to write a continuing series and I won’t be buying the next books even though I enjoyed this one very much and would like to see how the ladies of Harmony House get along in their new home.
Enjoyed the whole series
Started with one and to get the rest.
I love reading these cozy types of women’s novels when I’m overwhelmed with real problems in real time. It’s brain candy: yum! The author does a good job of painting pictures with words; problems are solved with the minimum of effort, and life turns out best despite ugly purple carpet. Enjoyable diversion.
nothing read 2 chapters deleted it
The characters drew me in with their individual lives. I couldn’t wait for the next book in the series. Wonderful, interesting read.
Very interesting and will be excited to read the follow up box
not very entertaining and a bit slow
My new best friends! Downloaded and read the other 2 books! What next?
Women are remarkable.
I enjoyed reading about women of this age group.
