Penwith, the southwest tip of Cornwall, is a land of mystery and magic, of prehistoric monuments, witchcraft…and murder. When an American archaeological team stumbles upon the skeletal remains of a missing child beneath a Stone Age burial quoit, irascible CID Detective Sergeant Morgan Davies and her Scene of Crimes partner, Calum West, unearth a growing list of suspects.Within days, another body … another body is discovered. Is the killer the mind-reading village witch—who has long been a suspect in the child’s disappearance? Is it the drug-dealing partner of the child’s heroin-addicted mother? Or is it someone even closer to the investigation? Just as Davies and West close in on their prime suspect, another child disappears.

A little predictable, somewhat informative about Wicca and the Old School pagans.
A great UK police story with solid characters, nothing to stretch belief, and a story that progresses to a satisfying ending.
Well written, enjoyable story, with well developed characters. I’ll be reading my Will North stories.
I liked it. Wasn’t actually a page turner but kept me coming back.
I really enjoy books with an archeological bent.
interesting story. everything seems disconnected until the end.
Excellent English story of supernatural.
Interesting characters.
It was an entertaining read. My kind of subject.
Evokes Cornwall, with some great characters.
Occasional typos and one inadvertent major name change don’t have much effect. The main obstacle is the need to rational thought and just go with the story. If you can do that, it is a decent but not outstanding read.
difficult to get into the story. dragged,
Well written. Characters believable. Plot interesting.
A nice mix of murder mystery and a little magic. The setting is fun, the characters are interesting and it’s a good read.
Fun quick read. Kept me thinking until the final pages!
I just couldn’t get into this book.
I did not realize the plot was based on witchcraft. Book was well written and a good mystery, but once I realized it was based on witchcraft I lost interest. Recommend if the reader likes this type of plot.
Enjoyed the English humour and Cornish setting Alon with history and mythic beliefs. Glad to have found this author
I found this book very hard to follow and gave up half way.
I enjoyed the setting as well as the characters..well written..i like Will North.
