No one can make my blood pressure soar faster than Dr. Jameson – he is such a conceited a$$. Now I’m fighting for my life, with him as my partner,in the damn south American jungle.I should have stayed locked up in the compound my parents wanted to keep me prisoner in… he knows how to keep us alive,
But daaamn, it’s getting harder and harder to ignore his…
Eyes.
Then he finds out about my “abilities”, my secret powers.
The reason we’re being hunted by Oculus in the first place.
He’s doing everything to keep me safe,
But he doesn’t understand who’s after us.
The smartest thing I can do is take off on my own – he might be an ass, but I don’t want him dead because of me.
But it turns out that he has special “powers” too.
Looks like I’m not the only one who’s being hunted…

What a way to start the next generation
Audrey, a neuropsychologist, and Jameson, a psychiatrist, don’t agree with each other when it comes to treatment of patients. They both take an opportunity to lie low and go to Central America to work at a hospital for the impoverished people, without knowing that the other will be there. As the story progresses old enemies surface, sparks ignite and secrets are revealed. Jacey Ward and Chloe Fischer have given a new twist to their Conway family in Harder Than Stone. This series is about the third generation of Conway’s and I can’t wait to see what they have in store for the other two cousins.
I received a free copy of the book from the author. I had the opportunity to review or not.
I didn’t realize that this was several books into a series. I have a hard time getting into it, and considered scrapping it more than once. The story took off several chapters in, and was action-packed and steamy from there on. Once I figured out Audrey’s story, it was much easier to read. The story just ended, rather abruptly. I found myself looking for a little more. It was otherwise well-written, and I’d like to read the earlier books and then re-read this one.

A great sci fi book. One that must be read as hard to explain. So no spoilers. It has excitement, suspense, drama, surprises and so much more. I was given a review copy by booksprout and voluntarily review it.
This is a great book to read if you love romance, mystery, and suspense. I love the fact that there is a little bit of mystery and suspense as you try to find out more about who Oculus is and who is involved. I love the characters. The fact that they are both smart. There is also a little bit of a supernatural element to the book.

A new paranormal book that takes the reader on a journey into Nicaragua and the machinations of the CIA and an order called Oculus. Jameson and Audrey find themselves entrenched in the workings of both agencies.
We’re back with the Conway family’s fight against the nefarious organization Oculus. This time it’s the next generation who are joining the fray which begins with Audrey’s story. She’s been working in the world of neuropsychiatry as Dr. Audrey McMahon while searching for Oculus under the guise of working with the CIA. Dr. Jameson Landry is her counterpart in their respective psychiatric fields. He may not approve of her methods, but he feels a strong attraction which he can’t understand or deny. Their connection is a lot stronger than either of them are aware. It’ll be the basis on which they will eventually rely to save their lives and begin the latest in the struggle to defeat this evil menace.
This is an intriguing, suspenseful romance. It’s fast-paced, full of action and emotions, with strong, interesting characters. The storyline is engaging and entertaining, and it will keep you involved from beginning to end. I recommend this very appealing story and look forward to more from this series as the other Conway grandchildren get their stories.
If you have read the first series of this book then you will be pleasantly surprised when you read the next generation of them . In this book we see one of the brothers kids set out on their own and find out that she’s not alone in the world. That the bad guys played more games with other people. I loved this book and recommend it. I give it 5stars.I voluntarily read and reviewed this book as an Advanced Reader’s Copy.
INCREDIBLE Sci-Fi ROMANCE that will curl your toes!! MUST-BUY!!
“HARDER THAN STONE,” the novella by the fantastic writing team Jacey Ward and Chloe Fischer is an AMAZING romance. It’s well-written, easy to read, centered around two amazing characters, and is an awesome romance which reads like an action-adventure movie! TITLE tells the story of Audrey, the eldest of the third generation of humans with super-powers. Her Grandfather was part of an Oculus experiment to make super-soldiers. He has some crazy strength and other skills, but his four sons’ skills were even stronger and varied. Following the pattern, the next generation, Audrey’s generation, had more skills that were even stronger than those of their fathers. While the sci-fi abilities and the threat of Oculus finding and capturing Audrey and her family looms, it is the ROMANCE of this story and the others which has me coming back for more with each new title. All of the stories are character-centered, and I hope you will fall in love with the strong, intelligent, and yet vulnerable woman that Audrey presents. Falling in love with her beau is also a treat, but because the first few chapters are unclear as who her love-match might be, I’m not going to name him and spoil the fun. What readers need to know is that “HARDER THAN STONE” is a MUST-BUY story, with a swoon-worthy romance rolled up in a thrilling bit of sci-fi thriller, and once started may not let go until the last word is read! So, consider yourself warned! LOL I voluntarily read a copy of “HARDER THAN STONE” and this is my honest, voluntary 4½ STAR review. As a practice, I do not give more than 4 stars to a novella, but “HARDER THAN STONE” and is just too good to limit. So, that extra ½ star has to be added. It’s a short, thrilling roller-coaster ride through the lives and love of two incredibly powerful human beings.
If you have not yet read the “HARD SERIES: Boxed Set” which tells the tale of Audrey’s father and Uncles, then I would strongly suggest that you do so. They are just as amazing and creative as “HARDER THAN STONE” and tell the amazing stories of four siblings, separated at birth, how they grew to know who they were, why Oculus was after them, and of course readers get four more outstanding romances to read while we wait for the next STONE novella to appear at our favorite e-book site! While it is not necessary to read the “HARD SERIES: Boxed Set” first as each novel/novella is a standalone story, it does help a reader get the full picture of Oculus and the depth of their threat to Audrey and her family.
