Janet Evanovich’s #1 New York Times bestselling sensation Stephanie Plum returns in her twenty-fourth thriller as mutilated corpses litter the streets of New Jersey… Trouble comes in bunches for Stephanie Plum. First, professional grave robber and semi-professional loon, Simon Diggery, won’t let her take him in until she agrees to care for his boa constrictor, Ethel. Stephanie’s main … Stephanie’s main qualification for babysitting an extremely large snake is that she owns a stun gun—whether that’s for use on the wandering serpent or the petrified neighbors remains to be seen.
Events take a dark turn when headless bodies start appearing across town. At first, it’s just corpses from a funeral home and the morgue that have had the heads removed. But when a homeless man is murdered and dumped behind a church Stephanie knows that she’s the only one with a prayer of catching this killer.
If all that’s not enough, Diesel’s back in town. The 6-foot-tall, blonde-haired hunk is a man who accepts no limits—that includes locked doors, closed windows and underwear. Trenton’s hottest cop, Joe Morelli isn’t pleased at this unexpected arrival nor is Ranger, the high-powered security consultant who has his own plans for Stephanie.
As usual Jersey’s favorite bounty hunter is stuck in the middle with more questions than answers. What’s the deal with Grandma Mazur’s latest online paramour? Who is behind the startling epidemic of mutilated corpses? And is the enigmatic Diesel’s sudden appearance a coincidence or the cause of recent deadly events?

Typical Janet Evonivich book, similar characters and situations. Nothing new but easy and fun reading
I loved it! I have read most of here books and I follow to learn when the next one will come out
Another fun and easy read from Janet E. This is pure, enjoyable, light hearted, easy fiction. The characters and their interactions are funny. Her books are entertaining and leave you with a piece of happy in your day.
The character, Stephanie Plum, in this series makes my life seem great. Being a skip bond investigator is filled with danger and comedy antics from people she tries to receive sign their bond. I’ve read all twenty four books and have never been disappointed. Her dysfunctional family and friends are hilarious.
It is a good new adventure with Stephanie. Lots of Ranger and Joe too!
Evanovich never disappoints with another winner of Stephanie Plum & cast of characters along with a gripping mystery to solve!
Predictable but an enjoyable read.
Love Stephanie Plum!
Totally disappointing. Would not recommend this to anyone. I liked the other books in the series but this one went off the deep end!
Not her best in the series, but I will continue to read the Plum saga…. make them humerous !!!
Janet’s books have been my guilty pleasure. They got me through a rough divorce, here I was crying. Then reading about Stephanie’s:eye twitch” and I was giggling. Then grandma pulling out her gun or exclaiming “he’s a pip!!” Had me actually laughing out loud.
I’m happily remarried and still would never pass up the latest Stefanie Plumb book! Thank you Janet.
Same as the other 23. Ridiculous!
I absolutely love all the Stephanie Plum books! My husband can always tell when I’m reading one because I laugh out loud so much!! I love Stephanie’s whole family and her co-workers! Lula is a real kick! Then, of course, there’s Joe and Ranger!
Unrealistic to the point of ridiculous at every turn. The last Evanovich I will read.
Evanovich has run out of ideas well and truly by this stage of the series.
Disappointed in lack of story lines. Much the same as other books in series.
Another Plum novel that did not disappoint! I can not stop until I have finished the book! The characters are like old friends that I need to catch up with. Loved it.
I love Stephan Plum … but this book was disappointing
Not the best in this series. Time to end it or let the characters develop and grow.
I enjoy Evanovich. I think I have read all her books. They are very entertaining.
