Janet Evanovich’s #1 New York Times bestselling sensation Stephanie Plum returns in her twenty-fourth thriller as mutilated corpses litter the streets of New Jersey… Trouble comes in bunches for Stephanie Plum. First, professional grave robber and semi-professional loon, Simon Diggery, won’t let her take him in until she agrees to care for his boa constrictor, Ethel. Stephanie’s main … Stephanie’s main qualification for babysitting an extremely large snake is that she owns a stun gun—whether that’s for use on the wandering serpent or the petrified neighbors remains to be seen.
Events take a dark turn when headless bodies start appearing across town. At first, it’s just corpses from a funeral home and the morgue that have had the heads removed. But when a homeless man is murdered and dumped behind a church Stephanie knows that she’s the only one with a prayer of catching this killer.
If all that’s not enough, Diesel’s back in town. The 6-foot-tall, blonde-haired hunk is a man who accepts no limits—that includes locked doors, closed windows and underwear. Trenton’s hottest cop, Joe Morelli isn’t pleased at this unexpected arrival nor is Ranger, the high-powered security consultant who has his own plans for Stephanie.
As usual Jersey’s favorite bounty hunter is stuck in the middle with more questions than answers. What’s the deal with Grandma Mazur’s latest online paramour? Who is behind the startling epidemic of mutilated corpses? And is the enigmatic Diesel’s sudden appearance a coincidence or the cause of recent deadly events?

Love this series! Stephanie and Lula keep me laughing the entire book.
Another Stephanie Plum book that did not disappoint. Love her and her cohorts and their antics. Always fun to read.
I have read all of Janet Evanovich’s books. They are always fun reads. Her characters are hilarious; I especially love Lula. I frequently snicker out loud at some of the passages and will reread them several times to make sure I get the full effect. Go read all of these books. Great stress relief!
same old same old.
Evanovich, sadly, has devolved into writing by formula.
This has been a wonderful series but it feels like it is loosing steam. Still funny in places, still has great characters. I would recommend starting from the beginning of the series when it was laugh out loud funny.
This is one of my all-time favorite authors and series. Can’t put the book down once I start reading. Between Stephanie and Lula, it is constant laughs.
I like all of the series. Love the characters
I love the Stephanie Plum series!
I’ve read all of the Stephanie Plum novels to date and In my poor opinion, this is not one of the author’s best. Even so, it still is delightful and charming. She does a great job of keeping the “heat” going on between Stephanie & Joe as well as Stephanie & Ranger. Her family, especially Grandma, is always hilarious and her writing makes me laugh out loud. I look forward to reading #25 – she always creates a funny plot with wonderfully crazy “bad guys”. Thanks Janet, please keep them coming.
First 5 books well worth reading, then she lost most of a story line and dropped into the who will she sleep with next. Best thing to say is that there isn’t pages of sex to have to wade through. Worst thing, she seems to be paid by the word now. Repeating things over and over, good story lines but too thin. Once she hits her minimum number of words or pages she ends it
Janet Evanovich books are always entertaining; this one is no exception.
Fun, fun, and fun
Ok
Not the best Plum story but good nonetheless. I’m not a fan of zombies but ok storyline. I did not laugh out loud as is typical of her books but still enjoyable and looking forward to the next one.
I love this author. I think I’ve read just about every numbers book she has, as well as, the ones in between. Highly recommend this one.
I have read Evanovich’s books and though they follow the same theme, I still get a chuckle out of the characters and the humorous manner in which she writes and weaves a story together..
Janet Evanovich number series are always an entertaining read! Have not missed a one!
Totally unbelievable but when you are looking for something fast paced rediculous story. Look for a Stephany Plum novel. The Grandmother and friend Lula will keep you laughing.
I was very disappointed in this book. It was very dull. There has been a definite decline in this series since the book that Janet co-authored. Unless she can get back some of the humor and spunk, I think that it may be time to sadly end this series.
