Janet Evanovich’s #1 New York Times bestselling sensation Stephanie Plum returns in her twenty-fourth thriller as mutilated corpses litter the streets of New Jersey… Trouble comes in bunches for Stephanie Plum. First, professional grave robber and semi-professional loon, Simon Diggery, won’t let her take him in until she agrees to care for his boa constrictor, Ethel. Stephanie’s main … Stephanie’s main qualification for babysitting an extremely large snake is that she owns a stun gun—whether that’s for use on the wandering serpent or the petrified neighbors remains to be seen.
Events take a dark turn when headless bodies start appearing across town. At first, it’s just corpses from a funeral home and the morgue that have had the heads removed. But when a homeless man is murdered and dumped behind a church Stephanie knows that she’s the only one with a prayer of catching this killer.
If all that’s not enough, Diesel’s back in town. The 6-foot-tall, blonde-haired hunk is a man who accepts no limits—that includes locked doors, closed windows and underwear. Trenton’s hottest cop, Joe Morelli isn’t pleased at this unexpected arrival nor is Ranger, the high-powered security consultant who has his own plans for Stephanie.
As usual Jersey’s favorite bounty hunter is stuck in the middle with more questions than answers. What’s the deal with Grandma Mazur’s latest online paramour? Who is behind the startling epidemic of mutilated corpses? And is the enigmatic Diesel’s sudden appearance a coincidence or the cause of recent deadly events?

Some of the things in this book made me laugh out loud.
Janet Evanovich never disappoints with the Stephanie Plum series. This book is an easy quick read with laugh out loud moments.

Janet Evanovich is a favorite author of mine. This book is a continuation of the Numbers series. Grandma Mazur keeps me in stitches.
I love Janet Evanovich, but this book was rather hap-hazard and not as good as her previous ones. I thought maybe it was just me, but a friend of mine also did not care for it. Get it from the library, then you won’t feel ripped off by buying it
I’ve loved everyone of the Stephanie Plum books. Very entertaining/funny.
Love the whole series! This series is so fun! Every one of the books have made me laugh outloud, many times. I taught English to high school students, and we enjoyed a reading time everyday – everyone in the building was to read. I didn’t have a class at that time, so I joined seniors across the hall. However, I was reading the first book of this series, and I had to leave the room because I was laughing so hard. The seniors enjoyed seeing me having such a good time with a book as well!!!
Laugh out loud humour.
Love, Love this series from Janet!!
I have read all of these books, in order, and keep on buying them. I seriously laugh out loud reading this series of books.

Love her books
As always, she delivered wonderfully!
I always look forward to another book in this series. Seriously laugh out loud funny!
I had a heck of a good time with Hardcore Twenty-Four. I was ready just about ready to give up on Stephanie Plum but this got my right back on track. The Zombie angle was a lot of fun and Grandma Mazur and Lula were in their best form and made me crack up a few times.
One of the best books in this series. A fast and super fun read.
Reminds me of the classic/original stories
Love Stephanie Plumb books, very entertaining
I really enjoyed this book, as I have all the Stephanie Plum stories. This one, however, seemed slightly watered down from previous stories. I did like the Zombie storyline, but overall it seemed a little ‘light’. Having said that, I wish there would have been just a couple more details on the interactions with Ranger. I feel it was almost brushed aside or not worthy of more mentions. I love Ranger as a character. I was pleasantly surprised at Diesel showing up. I feel he’s a good strong character, but again, I felt he was left mostly in the background.
Overall, it was a good read, I’d recommend it, and I’d probably read it again.
