Janet Evanovich’s #1 New York Times bestselling sensation Stephanie Plum returns in her twenty-fourth thriller as mutilated corpses litter the streets of New Jersey… Trouble comes in bunches for Stephanie Plum. First, professional grave robber and semi-professional loon, Simon Diggery, won’t let her take him in until she agrees to care for his boa constrictor, Ethel. Stephanie’s main … Stephanie’s main qualification for babysitting an extremely large snake is that she owns a stun gun—whether that’s for use on the wandering serpent or the petrified neighbors remains to be seen.
Events take a dark turn when headless bodies start appearing across town. At first, it’s just corpses from a funeral home and the morgue that have had the heads removed. But when a homeless man is murdered and dumped behind a church Stephanie knows that she’s the only one with a prayer of catching this killer.
If all that’s not enough, Diesel’s back in town. The 6-foot-tall, blonde-haired hunk is a man who accepts no limits—that includes locked doors, closed windows and underwear. Trenton’s hottest cop, Joe Morelli isn’t pleased at this unexpected arrival nor is Ranger, the high-powered security consultant who has his own plans for Stephanie.
As usual Jersey’s favorite bounty hunter is stuck in the middle with more questions than answers. What’s the deal with Grandma Mazur’s latest online paramour? Who is behind the startling epidemic of mutilated corpses? And is the enigmatic Diesel’s sudden appearance a coincidence or the cause of recent deadly events?

Janet should hang up her pen/word processor. This book is just plain dumb. The only reason I bought this book,is because it was on sale for 2.99
The first 10or so we’re worth the read but I would not recommend any after.
Stephanie needs to get better at her job
I have read this whole series. And normally Janet’s books are so funny that you have to laugh out loud. But at book 24 Stephanie is still not with either Morelli the cop or the security guy. Just pick one of them already. Not reading anymore books in this series. Her books are to expensive to keep buying to get worse books with everyone she has put out lately.
Not her best book. Interesting plot, though.
It bored me. Zombies… come on!
I was very disappointed. The characters seemed tired and just going through the motions. There was very little of the humor Evanovich is famous for, and Ranger is losing hos hotness factor. Only Grandma Mazur keeps things lively in this sequel.
There doesn’t seem to be much difference between books. Time to stop.
same stuff, different book. No advancement on relationships for any one except Grandma. Write an engagement and wedding already!!
I have read all the Stephanie Plum books and I enjoyed most of them very much. This time though I must say that I was a little disapointed. I think Stephanie seemed a bit dull and unengaged. And the fact that she still cannot seem to choose beteende the men in her life (all three of them!) somehow made me yawn…
I enjoy quirky Stephanie Plum and the cast of characters. Always a quick, fun read.
Loved her earlier books in the series. This one had a few funny moments…but mostly predictable and stale.
A typical Janet Evanovic Stephanie Plum. No surprises, very few laugh out loud moments. Everything is so formula and predictable. I bought it for 2.99 and not sure I got my money’s worth. If you are not bored by the same plot line as the last 23 and no character development than enjoy.
If you have read any of the last 10 Stephanie Plum books then it’s the same ole same old. Stephanie’s car ends up in the stolen and dumped in the river, Ranger replaces it twice with a bet that if she can keep from totaling one then it’s hers but if not she has to spend the night with him, old blue comes out and then a third loaner from Ranger. Moreli is working non-stop but she still stays over and they have sex multiple times even though he is dead tired. The best part is Diesel shows back up in this book. The big mystery comes in the form of zombies. Of course, no one believes they are real but they look and smell real. Dead people at the funeral home keep coming up headless and brains removed.
I really hope book 25 is the last book in this series. Janet doesn’t seem to have much heart in this series any more. It is the same of Stephanie being a 30 something year old woman who can’t keep her pants on around hot men. It’s time to let the characters either ride off into the sunset or have some cataclysmic event that really shakes it all up.
One of the better Stephenie Plum adventures in a while. Laugh out loud funny.
This whole series makes me laugh out loud !
I would recommend reading the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich. I’ve just read number 24 and looking forward to the release of number 25. I’ve enjoyed reading about the escapades of Ms.. Plum, our main character and her sometimes love interest, the mysterious Ranger. All in all a fun summer read.
Janet Evanovich’s book with Stephanie Plum you can not put them down!!! I’m waiting for my library to call me for number 25 in the series
I am a huge fan of Janet Evanovich books. No matter which of her characters she is writing about. Her storytelling is so much fun and keeps me coming back .
I’ve read every book in the series and look forward to her next one!!
Stephanie Plum is back! I was a bit disappointed with the last couple, but this one got me back on the bandwagon! Gotta love Grandma!
