New York Times bestselling author, K. Bromberg, is back with a heartfelt, standalone romance and a new hero to steal your heart . . . The contract with Major League Soccer was supposed to help repair my damaged reputation. Then I discovered that I’d made a deal with the devil: the player I’m supposed to recruit is none other than the bad boy, star Premier League footballer, Rush McKenzie. … boy, star Premier League footballer, Rush McKenzie.
British. Tattooed. Sexy. A man currently at the center of a huge scandal.
The goal? To convince him to stay in the States.
But what’s wrong with a little fun in the meantime? No strings. No sweet nothings. Just a way to pass the time while we’re both struggling to prove our true selves to the world.
If someone found out our relationship was anything more than professional, it would only serve to prove all our critics right.

I never should have agreed to take the fall.
But I did and I’m a man of my word.
Even if it means risking everything I’ve worked for.
The only bright side is Lennox Kincade.
Gorgeous. Defiant. Rumor-tainted. Totally off-limits.
Sharing a house with the gorgeous sports agent should have been a fun distraction from the turmoil. Someone to help pass the time while the tensions back home die down.
But what started as nothing, ends up as something I never saw coming.
Are you ready to fall for the Kincade sisters and then men who love them in K. Bromberg’s sexy, contemporary, sports romance series? These books can all be read as standalones, but you’ll enjoy reading them as a series!

Hard to Hold – KB you had me with British Footballer!!! And add Rush, wow scorching hot. I adore Rush & Lennox. Two people who seem so opposite really fit perfectly as they realize they have the same goal to prove themselves worthy to the people most important to them. I love everything about Lennox. She is as real as it gets. Rush is the epitome of charming & swoony. Together they are just funny and awesome. The path isn’t always easy but in the end it makes it that much sweeter. This series is so so good. An easy 1 click!!!
I love K Bromberg’s books and this one wasn’t different!
This second book in Play Hard series is the story of Lennox, the Beauty Queen between the Kincade’s sisters, and Rush, a brit’s premier league star, dealing with a scandal by laying low in the US.
Their first encounter was AMAZING!
I loved that scene and I knew it, that their chemistry would be out of charts!
I wasn’t wrong and this book delivered and amazing story with lots of laugh, tension, evolution, sex, and OMG…
So. Much. Chemistry!
Rush is so loyal, passionate, gentle, and so amazing, that he’s almost as perfect as Slade (flirting with 40)… And I love that man!
Lennox is dealing with an intersection in her life, and it’s really hard to see her struggle with things that wouldn’t be an issue, if she wasn’t a woman in a men’s world.
After an abrupt decision, Lennox end up in LA… and for the next 3 months, they’re both living together in a big house, with s mutual friend, Johnny.
So many amazing moments between them…
I also would love to say that Johnny should get his own book! Fact!
Omg I love him so much! He’s the best friend that both of them needed… and he’s so funny!
I loved read a little more about Dekk and Hunter, and the other Kincade’s family members.
I’ve catched a few similarities with the previous book, but nothing to ruin my experience reading it.
Can’t wait for the next one!
Hard to Hold was Ah-Mazing! Ugh. I loved it. Lennox is a sports agent that works for her family’s business. After overhearing someone talking about her at a conference she makes a rash decision to take off on her own and take a job in Los Angeles. While in L.A. she stays with her college roommate, Johnny. She quickly finds out that Johnny also has another house guest, British football player, Rush Mackenzie. Rush is in Los Angels laying low after being involved in a terrible scandal that could possibly cost him his job. The two of them are definitely attracted to one another, but Lennox has a point to make and she can’t be getting involved with an athlete.
Rush was an amazing character. I loved him! Reading from his point of view showed me where he came from and how he became the man he is today. Lennox was a head strong woman that I adored. I totally understood why she made the decisions she did. I haven’t read the first book in the Play Hard series, but I plan to as soon as possible after meeting Lennox and her sisters in this book.
Rush McKenzie is a bad boy soccer player who’s running from a scandal.
Lennox Kincade is an ex-beauty queen who’s trying to revamp her reputation.
What starts as a bit of fun, ends with something they never saw coming.

Love bad boy stories…by K. Bromberg, even better! Unpredictable and sexy!
Sexy, tattooed, and British. Definitely a hattrick for Rush McKenzie
If there is one author that could write damaged heroes with big hearts and sassy heroines showing vulnerability it’s Ms. Bromberg. It’s her trademark and she delivers another very emotional and heart-warming story with this book.
I’m a soccer fan and a Manchester United one at that but I would be switching teams in a blink of an eye for the star of Liverpool – Rush McKenzie. He was ambitious, hardworking and very goal-oriented, but he had his shadows from the past and it was intriguing to see his backstory unfold and show us the kind of guy he was underneath. Lennox was also very driven and determined to prove herself in a profession ruled by men. She acted tough and strong, but was actually very insecure in some personal aspects and was scared to let anyone in. It was exactly their human flaws that made them more down to Earth and what drew me to them as characters.
They were perfect as a couple and clicked right from the start. I really loved the openness between them and how they were being honest with each other from the very beginning. And even though they didn’t reveal all their secrets from the start it was amazing to watch them open-up to each other and overcome their insecurities. They complemented each other in so many ways. However, they drove me insane at some point with their stubbornness and the constant suppressing of their true feelings. But the connection and the chemistry were great. And don’t let me start on the steam level. Pun intended. The hot moments were scorching.
The ending was the cherry on the cake though. So intense and with a few nail-biting moments and some emotional scenes. I shed some tears, I laughed with the banter and had to have some ice to cool me down after certain scenes.
A perfect mix of character development, intriguing plot, witty banter, passion and deep emotional backstory. This story was definitely a score for me.
RUSH RUSH RUSH RUSH RUSH! I LOVE RUSH!
This cocky funny and hot as hell man just stole my heart!
I live in a country (France) where soccer (football for us) is like a religion but i hate this sport… BUT i’d be happy to see Rush playing because he’s spectacularly sexy and because that’s really a passion for him. He doesn’t just put a show and earn millions, he breathes soccer, he loves making fans happy, giving hope and joy to little boys who want to become a star like him, he’s generous with them. It’s like he still loves the sport like he did when he was younger.
His past made me cry a bit, his personality made me admire him, his loyalty and benevolence made me fall hard, his cocky attitude with Lennox made me laugh and swoon. I swear this guy is the whole package!
Lennox is a gorgeous woman and she works in a world full of men who don’t take seriously beautiful women. She’s more sensitive that what she wants to show and it hurts her but because she’s strong and determinate, she’s gonna prove they’re wrong about her, she’s professional and efficient. But even if she wants to succeed in her new job, she NEVER sells her soul, she never forgets who she is, she stays this amazing woman full of compassion and humanity, honest and supportive.
She’s the only one who believes in Rush when the whole world think he’s a home-breaker. Rush sees Lennox for more than just her beautiful exterior. They both admire and respect each other. They’re both victims of prejudices and gossip and they both proves that reality can be totally different from what some mean people try to make you believe.
I love their banter, their sassiness, their chemistry, their honesty, the way they fall for each other, the way they love each other…
I also loved the secondary characters such as Lennox’s family and Johnny (i really looooved Johnny!)
Hard to Hold is a steamy and heartwarming story you need to read.
Hard to Hold is the second in K. Bromberg’s Play Hard series. I enjoy sports romance and was thrilled that we were getting more from K. Bromberg. Lennox and Rush are my new favorites. The gorgeous, savvy sports agent and the star soccer player with hot chemistry. What’s not to love? The Play Hard series has been fun to read and I’m looking forward to reading more in the series.
Miss Bromberg did it again! I adored this story and I couldn’t put it down, this couple was everything, Rush stole my heart within the first few chapters.. what I love about this author’s writing is that she writes real life issues, she portrays what people go through to get to the highest point of their career or life.. also, thank you for writing a female sports agent, it was refreshing to see a female in that role and the struggles that women have to go through to survive in a male dominating world! I need the next sister!! is it february yet???
Get ready Lennox and Rush are Hard to Hold and Sizzling off the pages.
I am so in love with the Dekker Ladies. Lennox is thriving in a man’s world. She is strong, sassy, witty, and oh so fierce. She does not back down from anyone or anything. While at a conference she stumbles across the boys club talking smack on her and putting her performance down. Stating that she uses her sexuality to gain clients. Yes she stands up to the playground bullies but deep down she is still sweet and vulnerable and she begins to question her ability. She decides a change is on her horizon and she jets off to LA to take a part-time job that her father had declined on her behalf.
Rush McKenzie is our British Footballer that is tall, rugged, sexy on a stick, and right in the middle of a public relations shit show. He has come from nothing and is not will to go back there but he has a debt to repay. He is in LA laying low at a friends home and letting the storm pass.
Lennox meet Rush ….this little cohabitation at a friends sprawling home is about to get interesting!
I absolutely loved the banter of this couple. They were fun, sexy, sweet and had so much chemistry! You never know what the future holds but if you have the right person by your side anything is possible! What a great ride with Lennox and Rush.

I loved this book, Lennox was a badass. This story was unexpected, the emotions were on point and the chemistry was undeniable. I love Rush, they started the relationship and support each other, and was beautiful. I love how strong and independent Lennox was. This book is one of my favorites from Kate. 4.5 stars
I felt it…..ALL! The feels. The RUSH. The sizzling chemistry. K. Bromberg’s work ALWAYS consumes me and steals my heart! This is definitely a 2020 must read!
Terrific second story in this sexy series. I love this family of sports management movers and shakers. Dad and his four daughters are changing the male dominated world of managing premier athletes with their company KSM. This story features the next to youngest Lennox. She’s the beauty queen with a middle child syndrome and a restless nature. She fights against the good ole boy mentality that thinks she uses her looks to reel in clients. A fine line between professionalism and her wants is tricky especially when she meets the sexy bad boy soccer (football) super star Rush. Rush is embroiled in a drama that has him leaving England and heading to the US to help MLS attract fans. Lennox is also in the MLS mix and testing her mettle as the sought after Rush is in her sights to bring him to KSM. Their chemistry is immediately and hot. Beautiful people with loads of passion. It’s a foregone conclusion that these two will hit the sheets. Their relationship is a surprising sweet build in trust and need along with the super sexy encounters. Spectacular writing and fabulous characters makes this a must read. I can’t wait for the next installment in this outstanding series.
It took me quite a while to be able to formulate a review. This is purely subjective. Writing is like art, either you like it or you don’t. In order for me to connect to a story, I must connect with the characters. In this instance I didn’t. I liked Rush well enough but Lennox was another story. I thought she was immature.
It is a good storyline that was well thought out. It does come with drama and an HEA. Told in a dual POV with an HEA.
Hard To Hold was a pleasant surprise of a read for me. At first I worried how I would like it because Rom Com type books are not usually my favorite reads but this book definitely surprised me. If I had any warnings or conplaints it would be this story definitely felt like a instant love for me. I felt I barely had time to sort out my feelings before they was already madly in love. A few times I kept feeling like I missed something. Which don’t get me wrong I’m all for that Insta love in books but if you find it corny you may struggle with this book a tad. I loved book one in the Play Hard series so I’m happy to report book two was another success for me. I adore, and I mean adore sports romances so that was a huge perk with this story for me. It not only had a unique sport I don’t read often with soccer but to have a sports agent was another first for me before this series of course. I was all here for the flirty, and constant sparks of this story. From the first page to the last it had me feeling all the feels and emotions. Author K Bromberg never ceases to amaze me with her talent for writing phenomenal characters you simply can’t help but love!
Rush and Lennox had me all in on their constant push and pull. Was there alot of back and fourth with these charactets, yes. But am I conplaining? Absolutely not. Their chemistry was off the charts and simply ignited my Kindle lages. While their easy banter definitely kept me laughing. Both characters had their obstacles to overcome as expected but together they made it a really beautiful journey to read. With a even sweeter love story to remember them by. I really did love Rush and Lennox’s story and can not stress enough how much I am looking forward to the next book in this series!
*4&1/2 STARS*
Well earned for another fabulous read in the Play Hard series. I would totally recommend reading this book. Rush is easily one of my favorite heros so what you waiting for? Give his story and read and see for yourself.
Lennox (Nox) is the free-spirited wanderer of her family. She’s known as the beauty queen and it’s to her detriment because no one sees past her looks to the intelligent, hard-working person inside her. It’s that very thing that causes a rift between her and her family, so taking off across the country to take on a new job just might be the way for her to prove herself – to her family, to all the men in her industry who think she is only successful because she sleeps her way into locking down her clients. This newest mission, though, to recruit a bad boy soccer (excuse me, football) player and help him clean up his act. Can she recruit him and keep her hands off his tight, inked up body?
Rush is so loyal that it has had some pretty terrible consequences to his life. Right now it’s affecting not just his reputation, but his career as well. Lying low at a friend’s house in the states should be just the ticket to ducking the press. When a gorgeous woman appears at the house he’s lying low at, he assumes she’s there to get to him like most women. That she’s sassy and intelligent only adds to the attraction. Can he convince her to have a fling while he’s in the US?
Wow, I gotta tell you, but this one sneaked in far more emotions than I expected from the blurb. Rush’s story and character in particular, got to me more than a little. I love his intense loyalty, even though it caused him so much pain, and I adored that he had so much vulnerability and a sensitive side beneath his cocky, bad boy athlete persona. Nox was just steeled to pain as Rush, so the two of them should not have worked on paper, but the way they finally let down their walls with each other and fell in love was just perfect – sweet and sexy with so much emotional depth.
Oh my gosh I LOVE this series so much!!!! The characters are wonderful and the story lines grab my attention and keep me reading quickly to find out what will happen. Rush and Lennox and both such wonderful characters with scars many of us carry with us in life. I liked how down to earth and relatable I found both Rush and Lennox and the whirlwind that is their story. I love that the characters from book 1 make an appearance as each book I fall more and more in love with the Kincade family.

Rush and Lennox drew me in to their story, and in to their world, from the first page of this title and didn’t let go.
I loved both of the characters and I related to both of them; to Rush and his loyalty to his friends and to Lennox and her desire to be more than she initially felt like she could be while working for her family.
I also really liked the resolution of this one, possibly as it sort of had already occurred to me…which feels more like strong writing than laziness on the part of the author. I felt like I knew the characters well enough that I was able to relate to them and know what would work for them, and figure out easily how it was going to resolve.
The romance and the attraction between them was also so relatable, I think we have all had situations where what we want, what we think we should want, and what we need sort of match up…and sort of don’t…at the same time.
This story was strong, it was well written and the characters were enjoyable, the situations real, and I definitely recommend this title.
