5 stars!
After finishing Hard to Handle earlier this year I didn’t think there was any way I could love a Kincade sister more than Dekker but WOW was I wrong. Lennox is most definitely my new favourite. She is fierce, sassy , strong and free spirited. She has always beat to her own drum and takes charge of her life and career. She hears some negative things being said about her at a conference and instead of letting it get her down she boldly sets off to LA to take a new job that her father had already turned down. This is where things get interesting. She is staying with a close friend Johnny but it’s not just she and Johnny in the house. He has another housemate. None other than Rush McKenzie, famous British Footballer who is hiding away in LA after a huge scandal back home. Rush is everything I love. Sexy, brooding, british. He also has the biggest heart underneath his exterior. He has a back-story that pulls at every heartstring and after all the mountains he has had to climb he deserves all his successes in love and life. Lennox and Rush were the perfect match. Each full of fire and passion and I couldn’t get enough of their banter and snarky comments. The push and pull was addicting and their chemistry was undeniable and instant from the moment they meet. If you love a good sports romance with a ton of angst that will give you all the feels this is the book for you! I highly recommend it and cannot wait for the next Kincade sister to fall and get her HEA.
I absolutely loved this story. Lennox and Rush were perfect for one another. Lennox never stood around for relationships. She always had an exit plan. She had her family, but she was feeling that they didn’t think she could handle her job. She was just a pretty face. Among other agents she was thought of getting her clients by sleeping with them. But she was more than that. Rush saw that in her. She never pushed him to agree to let her represent him. She believed in him when no one else would. He was the one “who quiets the restlessness.” She felt like home when she was with him, she felt safe with him and felt she could trust him. Rush was different. She always protected herself behind pleasure and desire but with Rush she wanted to let her walls down. Rush felt like he had to face every battle in his life by himself. He had no one. After his mom died, he was on his own. He only lived for football. His life changed the night he met Rory and his dad. Archibald saved him that night, but he didn’t realize the cost it would be. He is now “paying that debt.” But Lennox sees right through him. She believes he had nothing to do with what he is being accused of. Lennox made him feel again, before he was just existing.
Together they learn one important thing in any relationship: trust. They were there for each other and they understood each other like no one else every did for either one. When Rush finally confided in Lennox and told her the truth, he knew his tale was safe with her. Rush and Lennon never expected to fall in love, they knew their time together had an expiration date. But sometimes the heart doesn’t understand time limits.
K. Bromberg has completely converted me into a sports romance fan! There wasn’t one thing that I didn’t like about this book. It had all the elements I was looking for and more. I love the whole series, however, you can read as a standalone. Lennox was sassy, strong, and confident with a dash of vulnerability that made her very human. Rush was a loyal, strong, and confident character that really showed his character throughout the book. Their relationship was developed, fleshed out, and felt natural. It was witty, sexy, and full of depth. I simply loved this book and couldn’t put it down!

Ever been in a book strike, where no story is good enough and you need to find that book that will keep you invested till the end? This was that book for me.
I will start by saying that it is part of the Play Hard series but can be read as a standalone.
It tells the story of Rush McKenzie, hot-as-sin star soccer player for Liverpool FC and Lennox Kincade, a beautiful, sexy, strong and feisty sports agent. He is in the middle of a media scandal and she is trying to prove to everybody in a mostly masculine line of work that she is more than just her looks. Their relationship is bit taboo and a lot steamy 🙂
I love how Rush appreciates Lennox for being strong and independent and how she believes and trusts him from the very beginning. They support each other through-out the book in such a beautiful and inspiring way.
I really like K. Bromberg’s writing style. This book was easy to read, heartwarming and positive.
Fantastic! I absolutely loved this one. Rush and Lennox’s story has a the FEELS!! You will laugh, swoon, need a fan, as well as shed a few tears. It’s definitely a poignant storyline with lots of HEAT! A fabulous addition to this series and my favorite to date. I highly recommend this book.
5 star review Hard to Hold (Play Hard #2) by K.Bromberg
Having read the first book in this series I couldn’t wait to dive in to Hard to Hold. This book ticked all the boxes for me and I was hooked from the first to the last chapter and had a hard time putting it down.
I really loved Lennox Kincade and Rush McKenzie. Usually it is the woman who wants to settle down but Lennox is not your typical woman, she as ell as Rush are more the love them and leave them types. However, when these two get together, sparks will fly and the chemistry and attraction will sizzle between them.
Escaping to LA after a scandal rocks his world, Rush is in need of positive publicity. I loved how feisty and sassy Lennox is. Despite beginning to doubt herself she really isn’t afraid to stand up for what or who she wants or believes in and I fell hard and fast for Rush.
The journey for Lennox and Rush will be rocky, but if they can work on their relationship they will get the happily ever after that they both deserve.
This book has it all; steam, spice, angst and was well written with characters whose story you cannot help but become invested in.
If this book is any indication of where this series is heading, I’m all in!
Another Kincade sister and another story in the series that takes sports romance to an all new level.
Lennox Kincade is feeling restless, unappreciated and now her self esteem has taken a hit, so she’s off to LA for a change of scenery and a new challenge. Little did she know her challenge would come in the form of one very sexy British Premier League footballer named Rush Mackenzie, who’s currently embroiled in media storm back in England.
Thrown together in both living and working environments, their chemistry is off the charts, and that heat accompanied by the complications of them being together is bound to make them burn, in more ways than one.
There’s so much to love about these characters…their back stories, their strength and passion, their flaws, and especially their flirty and fun banter with each other.
This was an incredibly interesting and compelling look at a part of sports we don’t get to see!
Premiere football sensation Rush McKenzie needs a safe place to hide away from the turmoil one picture has made of his life and career. Sports agent, Lennox Kincade, needs a safe place to lick her wounds and run away from the hard truths she has to admit to. What are the chances they find themselves running to the same house away from everyone. When the sparks fly and the passion ignites the two are more compatible than they thought, however, physical intimacy will only get you so far when you make a deal with the devil. Will the lies and deception bring them closer or tear them apart? Will they find an everlasting romance or just a few week fling? With characters the reader instantly wants to give a hug and a storyline that had so many layers to this was another fabulous read from K.. Bromberg.
4.5 stars!!!
Wow, wow, wow. Kristy has done it again. Rush…. can we say strong handsome, sexy alpha with a heart of gold and a reputation for trouble. A man dealing with his past, stumbles upon a sexy confidence shaken women. The push, pull and path these two find themselves on is so much fun to read. You cheer and want so badly for this couple to find there way. Like all Kristy books, get ready for on rememerable part. Loved, love Lennons strength and determination. A couple all arrows point to finding there way.
I am in love with this series and this book! Kristy Bromberg has upped her writing game once more with Hard to Hold and I for one, cannot get enough of these Kincaid sisters and the men who claim their hearts. With sister Lennox getting her turn in the spotlight this time around, her free spirit fights hard against the determined businesswoman she has become. But it’s that nonconformist way about her that catches the eye of one Rush McKenzie and gives this story a charm that is hard to resist.
There is much at play as Lennox and Rush are unexpectedly sharing a house with their friend in common, the utterly delightful and scene-stealing Johnny. Although Rush is hiding out from a scandal in his native Liverpool and Lennox is seemingly hiding away from her father and sisters, these two don’t hide much from the other as the sports agent and the star soccer player find an attraction to one another that is all kinds of undeniable.
With Rush’s seeming misconduct at the heart of this story, I loved how it simultaneously became a discovery for both Rush and Lennox and what they both didn’t know they wanted, namely each other. With the witty banter combined with incredibly sexy trysts, these two have more chemistry than they know what to do with. And it’s all kinds of explosive and full of heart, which neither ever envisioned.
Bromberg carefully crafts a storyline that is both intense and tender. There are poignant scenes in Rush’s past that brought a tear to my eye, giving him a vulnerability that was endearing despite the playboy persona he tries to put forth. Watching as Lennox lets down her own guard to help the struggling soccer star battle this out of control situation, I was reminded just how compassionate these Kincaid women are and how much I love seeing them fight for those they love.
The entire Kincaid crew shows up when needed with dad Kenyon offering some of the most beautiful moments as he gives Lennox his full support no matter what her decisions might be now and in the future. It’s that unconditional love that ultimately drives this series and gives it that extra bit of wonderful I simply adore.
What sets this book apart from so many is that Bromberg takes her time without being overly wordy and repetitive. Every scene is necessary and every emotion displayed is spot on and gives me all I need to fall hard for these characters. I could feel every bit of tension, sadness, triumph, and longing as Rush and Lennox maneuver through that crazy little thing called love even when they desperately want to deny otherwise. Time, distance, reputation, and public opinion are no match for the real thing these two have and it’s worth every doubt they had to fight from themselves and others as the pages fly by.
Hard to Hold is the kind of book that truly has it all and it’s a reading experience I wish I could have every time I pick up a new novel. I cannot wait for more from these sisters and happily give Hard to Hold a huge 5+ stars!
I am in love with this book, I couldn’t put it down and honestly I wouldn’t have if I could. I loved the theme of wandering and how some people need to wander when things feel off, I relate to that so much and this book helped me realize a part of myself I don’t fully understand. Lennox was an amazing character and her storyline was heartbreaking but beautiful in the backgrounds. She dealt with a lot of people, rumors, fears and much more and I loved watching her grow and learn from those around her.
Rush’s storyline kept making me cry with how much he was willing to give up for those around him and I loved reading the rest of his story. He deserves so much more than he thinks and those are always the best people. While I cannot wait for the rest of the Kincade sisters, I want so much more of these two its unreal!!
With Hard to Hold, K. Bromberg has created a beautiful story of self-discovery and fighting for what matters. The prologue instantly drew me into the story and Lennox and Rush captivated me until the very last page.
Lennox Kincaide and Rush Mackenzie are both hiding away from the world, in plain sight, when they meet and the attraction is instantaneous. Their lives are intertwined in ways neither expected and as they begin spending time together, they have to decide if they should keep their walls up or lower them for a chance at the unexpected.
“Am I just Sports Agent Barbie to be brought out and played with when no one’s really being serious?
On the outside, Lennox is the self-assured, confident and feisty sports agent that knows how to handle herself in a man’s world. However, on the inside, she thinks her family does not trust her to be professional and that her peers look down on her.
“You’ve lost your crown.”
She’s struggling and needs to be seen by someone. Enter Rush. He’s able to build her confidence and help her regain her self-worth.
“Every single thing about him captivates every single thing within me.”
Rush has fought tooth and nail for everything he has. He’s loyal to a fault and the only thing he truly loves is football. When those he trusts most betray him, he could lose his place on the Liverpool team and he’s lost. Everyone thinks the worst of him except Lennox.
“You are worth fighting for.”
What starts as a fling becomes an unlikely friendship and then something much deeper. It’s a deep and heartfelt story that touched my heart. Rush and Lennox are EVERYTHING. I absolutely loved them and this beautifully, complex story crafted by K. Bromberg.
The second book in the Play Hard series by K. Bromberg, Hard to Hold is a heartwarming, gripping, all-consuming read that will have you feeling everything! The writing is fantastic with an intriguing storyline, great characters, drama, turmoil, a scandal, insta-attraction, heartache, angst, obstacles, undeniable chemistry, and off-the-charts heat.
I volunteered to review an advance reader copy of this book.
“I know he’d be devastating—to my senses, to the status quo I’m used to, and to my heart, when I swear it doesn’t like to feel.” ~ Lennox
I absolutely love Lennox and Rush. My heart broke for all the things Rush had to deal with in his past. He is an amazing person. Love the chemistry between Lennox and Rush. Their ending is beautiful and makes your heart smile.
I have a feeling that I’m going to love everything about this latest series by K. Bromberg. The constant throughout is the Kincade family, and Kenyon and his daughters are exactly how I believe a family unit should be. Like any family they have their squabbles but Papa Kincade and those girls of his, love each other dearly; have the utmost respect for each other; are there during the good times and the bad, and I could quite happily spend all my time in their company.
Hard to Hold is Lennox’s story and I have absolutely loved getting to know her more. It seems to be a trait of this family that no matter what the personal loss could potentially be for each of them as individuals or their business, they respect and put others before themselves and it is this that has me putting them on a pedestal. There is a certain footballer that seems to have caught Lennox’s eye and I hoped that for once, her restlessness would see her flying off into the arms of the man who she has allowed to break through her barriers and stolen her heart.
I know you are going to fall in love with Rush McKenzie. His back story will break your heart that’s a certainty. This young man who shows so much strength, determination and loyalty will have you rooting for him every step of his journey. He’s an incredible person and a perfect role model who deserves nothing but the best in life.
I absolutely loved this story. Both Lennox and Rush have issues to overcome and my only niggle is that I wish the mid-section had progressed at a slightly quicker pace as sadly my attention wavered. However, the author did work her magic to grab it back and hold it once again.
Incredible leading characters who have the most amazing connection and chemistry; a fantastic storyline, and secondary characters that add to the story perfectly are what await you in Hard to Hold. I sincerely hope that you have already read Hard to Handle which is Dekker’s story and another must read! I highly recommend both novels and look forward to spending more time with the Kincade family when Hard to Score releases in February 2021.
Hard to Hold is going to take you on an emotional journey right from the start. Lennox has taken a hit professionally and is feeling like everyone is doubting her ability and just sees her as a pretty face. Rush is being drug through the media for sleeping with his team captain’s wife and absolutely no one seems to doubt it is true. Both escape to sunny California and sparks fly. Can they let down their walls long enough to turn a fling into something real?
I love K Bromberg she always writes so much feeling into every story. She will break your heart and slowly put it back together again. I knew the sisters were going to be fun but Lennox is a spitfire. Rush has not had an easy past and his loyalty to those in his circle goes above and beyond. Loved that Kenyon showed us a little different side in Hard to Hold too. Wonderful characters that will grab you from the very beginning and hold you until the last word. Can’t wait for more of the Kincades!
Wow, this story was so amazingly written by Kristy, I couldn’t put this book down! 5 amazing stars for this one, it deserves more but that’s all they give us!!
We meet Rush, famous football player from Liverpool, who’s hiding out from a scandal here in the states. He owes it to the family that took him in to do this for his friend, but at what cost? While staying at his friends house in LA, he meets the beautiful Lennox, a sports agent in her families business. Lennox comes with her own baggage, and begins to question everything about herself after one agent says things about her. She’s also questioning her families trust in her to do her job.
When these two meet there are sparks, but can they conquer their demons and be together?
I loved this story, I know you will too! Grab it asap!
I absolutely loved everything about this amazing story! This is by far the best book I’ve read all year, and want to give it way more than 5 stars! I was completely captivated from word one of Lennox and Rush’s beautiful, poignant, and passionate story. Lennox Kincade and Rush McKenzie first meet when they are both at a disheartening crossroads in their careers. They are both in LA for reasons that neither is happy about. They connect right from the start, and their fiery attraction is undeniable. If they are going to repair their reputations, they need to keep their relationship professional. But the more they work together, the stronger the pull is between them. When they finally give in, their passion is off the charts. They are able to keep their forbidden affair secret for a time. But what happens when their hearts get involved in something that was supposed to be temporary fun, and when they live on different continents? Rush is the ultimate loyal, honorable man, underneath a sexy, tattooed bad boy. He is so perfect for the smart, sassy, and fierce, Lennox, as he quiets her restlessness. All either of them wants is to have the love and support of family, and to do what they love. My heart ached for Rush and Lennox at some moments and then laughed and swooned in others. I loved how they grew from the betrayal they both experienced, only to became stronger and more confident. Their hard fought journey was not an easy one but so worth the ride. Bromberg expertly crafted a beautiful, and poignant story in past and present sequence that held me captive from beginning to end. I am loving her breathtaking, emotional, and sizzling ‘Play Hard’ series, and can’t wait to read what’s next for the Kincade sisters!
(3.8 Stars) Lennox Kincade is a feisty sports agent and wants to be taken seriously. When she takes matters into her own hands for a job perspective, she ends up in LA. That’s where she has an unusual run in with bad boy, English Football player, Rush McKenzie. To make matters worse, her first assignment is working with none other than, you guessed it Rush! Rush is caught up in a paparazzi’s dream scandal but it is true? Sometimes the truth doesn’t matter as long as the papers sell. Lying low, Rush ends up meeting Lenox of Kincade Sports Management and well, things get a little complicated. Can they keep things professional? Rush is a cocky athlete with a soft side he hides from the world. Will Lennox be able to tame Rush and find out what he is hiding? This is the second book in this sports romance series but can be read as a stand-alone. I did struggle in the beginning a little until I got into the main storyline, then I really enjoyed these characters and they journey together. Get ready to for a sports romance that has all the feels. Told in dual POV
Hard to Hold by K. Bromberg was a delight to read. Lennox isn’t your average heroine and I love that about her. She’s not looking for a commitment, she’s actually afraid of it and “dates” men who she knows will be leaving and I use the word dates loosely. She sounds like our typical hero’s in romance stories. Rush is the same, sleeps around and isn’t looking for anything long-term, he’s your typical athlete; 100% focused on the game and everything else is a distraction. He’s the star player in European football but ends up in LA to “hide” after a huge scandal hits him. Lennox ends up in LA to hide and rebel from her family after she starts doubting herself and her abilities as a sports agent. The attraction to each other is immediate and watching them begin to fall for each other is amazing.
One thing I loved about this book is there wasn’t the typical breakup. Sure, they went separate ways for a while at one point, but they were never really a couple, so it didn’t feel like a breakup. Don’t get me wrong, there was heartache but for a different reason. Then there was the epilogue, it almost brought tears to my eyes. There’s a full book of build-up and the final chapter finishes it perfectly.
An all-around 5 star read! K. Bromberg has done it again! Every book she writes has subtle blasts from previous books and this book was no different. Because of Kristy and her amazing hero’s, the number 13 is starting to become one of my favourite numbers.
