New York Times bestselling author K. Bromberg is back with an all new second-chance, standalone hockey romance.
At first, the request seemed simple—sign a new athlete to the agency.
Then I found out the new athlete was none other than the most wanted man in hockey today: Hunter Maddox
Gifted. Sexy. At the top of his game. And the only man who has ever broken my heart.
If signing him will help … has ever broken my heart.
If signing him will help save our family business, I’ll swallow my pride and do what’s asked.
But when it becomes clear his uncharacteristic antics off the ice are a hint of something deeper, keeping things strictly professional between us becomes more than complicated. But I know better than to cross that line.
I’ll never date a client. Not even for him.

Win the Stanley Cup and do it before time runs out.
Not a small feat, but it’s what’s motivated me since the start of my career.
And time is running out.
Enter Dekker Kincade.
Feisty. Dogged. Damn gorgeous. The one I let get away.
I have no idea why she’s traveling with the team, but hell if resisting her is going to be easy.
But I have a job to do, and I refuse to lose sight of that end game. Even if she confuses me. Even if she sees parts of me I’ve hidden from the world.
I can’t lose focus. Not even for her.

This book was an emotional roller coaster I didn’t see coming!
I cried, I laughed, I struggled and I loved every second of it!
K Bromberg once again got the story right, and left nothing to complain, compared to her other books that I love!
Second chance and Sports romance (Hockey Player and Sports Agent). Wonderful and hot combination.
Hunter is a hot NHL star with a lot of angry issues.
Dekker is a sports agent for her family business, responsible for recruiting the hot shot jock for her agency.
Hunter and Dekker have a past that didn’t end up well… When they meet face to face 3 years later, it’s bright as the sunlight, that the chemistry and interest in each other, is more alive than ever.
The two have difficulty in relationships, and above all, in allowing themselves to love and to be loved.
Seeing them face their demons, and fight their psychological and emotional limitations daily, is incredible!
Dekker is everything Hunter needs, but never thought he deserves, and Hunter is everything Dekk deserves, but never allowed herself to have.
So much happens in their lives, without them being in control, but even so, the weight is always heavy on their shoulders.
Exciting, captivating, funny, passionate, intense and that made me lose hours of sleep last night!
I won’t go any further to avoid spoilers, but just for your known, it was worth every minute of lost sleep!
I want to keep Hunter all for me!
I can’t wait to read her sisters’ book…

A new sports romance from one of my go to authors, you really don’t want to miss out on Dekker and Hunter.
Hard To Handle the first in a new series from K Bromberg,
I couldn’t wait to dive into this one. Dekker and Hunter are one hot couple, their chemistry is off the charts, throw in some angst and emotions, and you get another 5+ star read. She creates such a fantastic universe in which all her couples stories are unique, this book will have your thinking of their story for days after your done.
I felt like I walked for hours under the punishing sun. And when I say that is because of the struggle that Hunter suffers. The events are harsh and exhausting for him. His self esteem has been beaten down. My eyes even watered a few times. Hunter needs for something to go his way for once for his benefit and with him in mind, not anyone else. No ulterior motives. So when Dekker finally gets with the program, puts her fears aside and comprehends what he’s going through, she becomes his biggest champion. The calm to his storm. She will fight with claws out for him but as a professional and business oriented woman she manages to keep things civil with a few tricks up her sleeve. And even when she frustrated me on some occasions, I still take my imaginary hat off to her. Because Hunter is not an easy task. He really is that hard to handle. Specially when feelings are involved and when he doesn’t stop being his self assured, sexy, tempting self. Don’t worry, this book has some seriousness to it but Hunter still makes the story deliciously hot.
What a beautiful love story. It was so emotional and awe inspiring.
I loved it and can’t wait for the next book in this series.
I definitely recommend this story and this author.
I love a book by K Bromberg, and, as always, Hard to Handle lived up to my hopes and expectations. With deeply felt emotions, hidden or unadmitted feelings and a man on the edge of behaviour that isn’t natural to him, the book sets up the scene for intense back and forth between Hunter and Dekker, in a style that made it a complete page turner. I loved Dekker’s quick wit and strength, and Hunter’s determination and heart.
So many questions, so much heat! And so much heart. I found the book emotionally charged with the unresolved past and the emotions they are evoking. I loved both Dekker and Hunter. They both have such huge capacity for love in its many forms. A true 5 star read which had moments which are hauntingly tender, humour and that extra something that Ms Bromberg brings to all her books. Fabulous.
Reading Hard to Handle reminded me of why I fell for K Bromberg books after reading Driven; which was the first book I read from her.
Hunter and Dekker had mad chemistry together. Their love is the kind of love that you know you want but not sure that you deserve. Three years later, they meet up again will this be the time to leave any past hurts, drop any walls and let each other in?
Can their love for each other be realized and allow them to heal and be better people for themselves, each other and those who depend on them?
This story is more than a sports and second chance romance, it also highlights how personal tragedy can affect our outlook and thoughts on life and even love.
Hard to Handle is a definite must-read!!!
Hunter Maddox is on top of his game in the hockey world but something is going on in his life that is affecting him. Dekker’s family business is a sports agency. When her Dad asks her to sign Hunter she knows she will give it her all no matter that he broke her heart before. Can Dekker help Hunter overcome his past in order to win the Stanley Cup and find his happiness?
Author K Bromberg knows how to pull you into a story and make the characters so real. Love the way we get snippets of Hunter’s past a little at a time. Hunter and Dekker fight hard and love harder. Family comes first. I laughed and my heart hurt for Hunter. Loved all the characters and looking forward to reading Dekker’s sister’s stories.
I love sports romances and especially hockey ones. K Bromberg wrote a perfect mix of sports talk and romance in Hard to Handle. This book introduces us to four sisters who are sports agents and first up is Dekker. She is the oldest and finds herself on a mission to get back into Hunter Maddox’s life. They have a past they can’t ignore and lots of emotional histories that will have your heart aching. Hunter has so much going on with his family and add the stress of trying to win his first Stanley Cup? He needs Dekker to get it together and I love their story! Great start to this series and I will definitely be reading the rest!
All of a sudden I’m a hockey-loving girl and it’s all thanks to K. Bromberg and Hunter Maddox. This sports romance has more than just all the feels. It’s a rollercoaster of emotions that will have you on the edge of your seat while you watch and wonder how two people who have fallen for each other in the past manage to deny and hide their feelings so well for each other now. Dekker Kincade is my girl!!! She takes no prisoners and hides her feeling for Hunter as she tries to persuade him to sign with her family’s sports agency. She isn’t going to let her heart get damaged (again) as she tries to woe him over to their side. Hunter Maddox is hiding something. Something that is tearing him apart and his on and off the ice behaviour isn’t winning him any new fans. The angst and emotion is high as these two reconnect. It will make you smile. The banter between the sisters is great but be warned there are parts of this story that will pull on your heartstrings and the possibility of tears is high. Can Dekker find out what is haunting Hunter? Will Hunter let Dekker in? Is their sexual chemistry off the charts? You bet it is!!! As always K. Bromberg delivers everything we want and need in a romance. Hunter Maddox is going to win a lot of hearts as we find out if he is too Hard to Handle.
In order to help save the family’s athlete agency, Dekker Kincade needs to solidify a big named star. Unfortunately, the one her father chooses, Hunter Maddox, is the same hockey player that Dekker has a history with. Can the sparks that the shared once help or hinder getting him to sign on the dotted line? Or will it be the secrets from his past that makes Dekker feel he is not worth the risk? The reader instantly falls in love with these characters and it is the feisty give and take between them that makes this an awesome read. Nothing better than a sexy hockey player and a sassy woman to break him. I cannot wait for more in this series.
A hockey story written by one of my all-time favorite authors?? YES PLEASE! K. Bromberg knocked this one out of the park! A sport’s management business ran by and man and his four daughters was amazingly refreshing! I loved absolutely everything about Hunter and Dekker’s story! I cannot wait for more from this series! FIVE STARS!
K. Bromberg scores the winning goal in Hard to Handle!
K. Bromberg delivers perfection in a tragic, heartbreaking, poignant, and beautiful story about love, loss, second chances, and forgiveness. She hooks you from the start and doesn’t let go until the very end. The angst and emotions are high in this story but I loved every single bit of it. This book has soared to the top of my favorite reads of 2020!
Hunter Maddox is the captain of his hockey team, the New Jersey Lumberjacks. He is one heck of a broody, sexy hockey player with a huge chip on his shoulder. He is broken and angry due to a tragic event in his life and the fact that nothing he does will ever be good enough for his father. He’s been through a lot in his life and is living in the shadow of his twin brother, Noah. He doesn’t do relationships. He had a fling with Dekker Kincaid, the one who got away. She left him, breaking his heart but he didn’t try to stop her. He has never forgotten her. Now his main goal & only focus is to keep his promise to win the Stanley Cup; his promise to Noah. Imagine his surprise when none other than Dekker Kincaid comes back into his life, destroying his best-laid plans and shaking things up.
Dekker Kincaid is a successful sports agent. She works for her dad’s company along with her sisters. She is feisty, sassy, beautiful, independent, and strong but also commitment-phobic. When her dad calls a meeting, Dekker knows that it is something important. Dubbed the favorite, her dad gives her the first assignment, which is to sign a hockey player. They need this player to help save their agency. No problem right? Well, it isn’t just any player. It happens to be her ex-friend with benefits, Hunter Maddox. Things didn’t end well with them but she is confident that she can handle it. She sets out to complete the mission, but Hunter is not the same guy she knew before. He is angry and bitter. Can Dekker get to the bottom of what is eating him up? Can she find a way to get Hunter to sign and call a truce between the two of them?
This book consumed me in the best possible way. I fell in love with this perfectly imperfect love story. Kristy’s writing is impeccable. She is a master of words. The plot is well-written and perfectly paced. The feels… OMG! So many feels! It packs a whopper of an emotional punch. The emotions bled off the page and seeped into my soul. I laughed, my heart shattered, I cried multiple times, I melted, and I rooted for Hunter and Dekker so hard. The characters are real, raw, complex, deep, and you can’t help but fall in love with them. Of course, Hunter was my favorite. He is a total alpha male and I loved it! This is a must-read! It is a standalone with a HEA. It left me with the biggest book hangover but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I can’t wait to see what K. Bromberg has in store next!
If you like sports romances, you will love this story. It’s the first book in the series and can be read as a standalone. Dekker and her sisters run an agency owned by their father that represents athletes. When her father assigns her a hockey player to sign on with their agency, Dekker is shocked by who her father suggests, but she is up for the challenge. The only problem is she and Hunter have a past. Can she rise above her unresolved feelings and get Hunter to sign on the dotted line without becoming emotionally involved, or is their past too much to overcome, leaving Dekker coming home empty handed.
This book was Everything I’ve come to expect from K. Bromberg! It’s one of the best reads of 2020 for me. K. Bromberg brings out all of the emotions. You will laugh, you will cry, and you will love this story. It’s well-written and very emotional at times, and a definite must read.
