Megan Harrison is the owner of Kinky Spurs. She’s mortgaged up to her eyeballs and works long days and nights, but she’s living life on her terms, not on her wealthy father’s. She’s done being in the cattle rancher’s shadow. She’s got it all figured out, except for the part that involves Nash Blackshaw. He’s a sexy as hell cowboy whose smile can easily charm her out of her tight jeans. The only … The only problem is–their fathers were business rivals, and Megan and Nash have been taught to hate each other since birth.
Nash Blackshaw, a retired professional bull rider, has responsibilities on top of responsibilities. With his PBR career over due to back injury, and his focus narrowed on heading up the Blackshaw Cattle Company’s Guest Ranch, he shouldn’t have time to think about all the ways he wants Megan. But it’s all he thinks of around the sassy and sweet woman. She might be forbidden to him, but Nash wants to take her for a hard, kinky ride.
But small towns have a way of spreading gossip like wildfire, and not everyone is happy about their relationship. Especially when Megan drops a bombshell on Nash after one heated night between them. As much as Megan and Nash want to forget the old feud between their fathers and lose each other in explosive passion, they can’t escape reality. They are meant to be enemies, and Nash’s sizzling, dominant touch might not be enough to keep them together.

I recently discovered this author and I was excited to try another one of her books. Although this was third in the Kinky Spurs series, and does have plenty of appearances from previous characters, I felt it can still be read as a standalone. I will definitely be going back to check out the first two books when I have a chance, though.
I am a sucker for enemies-to-lovers and while this kind of started out that way, I have to admit I wish there had been a little more of that before the dynamic changed. But that’s more about what *I* like in a story and doesn’t detract from this book in any way. It was just slightly different from what I expected from the blurb.
The feud between the Megan and Nash’s families seemed kind of dramatized. Maybe there was more explained in the previous books, but I had to think to myself, “do people still act this way these days?” And Megan’s relationship with her father was, well, interesting – albeit hard for me to relate to – as well. I don’t know if I’d be able to separate “loving parent” from “cutthroat/somewhat-unethical businessman” like she was. I don’t read a lot of mafia/MC romance but I am guessing that’s something that must come up more in those tropes than the ones I usually read.
The story was sweet while the sexual chemistry between Megan and Nash was HOT. And I really liked how Nash was “all in” once the cards were on the table. And while Megan’s biggest issue (well, second biggest, probably) was the volatile relationship between Nash and her father, Nash had some growing up to do as well and had to come to terms with the end of his PBR career and change in life goals. I like it when all the “problems” aren’t all on one person in the relationship.
As soon as I have some cycles in my reading schedule, I plan on going back and checking out the first two books in this series and Kennedy is now on my “watch list” for go-to authors!

4 1/2 stars. This is my favorite book in this series! I absolutely love Nash and Megan together!! This story is awesome and flows so nicely! There is a lot going on and not everything is easy for sure but it all gets worked out when everyone works together. The characters are written so well and are very easy to like and relate too. Nash is hella sexy and sweet as the day is long!
I was constantly swooning over him, between the way he treats Megan and those kittens and his way with horses, just wow.
I love, love this sexy cowboy series by Stacey. Nash & Megan’s story was absolutely an amazing read from beginning to end. I love the chase between Nash & Megan, the mystery of who was doing the sabotaging and really love the ending of Nash & Megan’s story. 5 star read with sexy cowboys that everyone must check out.
I highly recommend that you read the first 2 books in this series before you start this one as the other 2 show how this relationship starts and other things about their families. Including some things that are spoken about in this book. Megan and Nash finally get their book! Megan is the owner of Kinky Spurs as well as the daughter of the man that the Blackshaw family is feuding with. They were both taught from the time of being children that they are supposed to hate each other. Even when they truly don’t. Nash has been struggling since being hurt on the rodeo circuit and forced to retire. But one night with Megan changes everything. Not only for each of them individually but for their families as well.
I absolutely loved this one! I have been wanting Nash’s story since book 1 and this one certainly didn’t disappoint! Nash is still that strong yet sweet man that keeps his real thoughts to himself. To the point that you just want to know what makes him tick. Megan is the type of woman who will always be there for her friends and the people she loves no matter what, including her own family. I love them both! The fact that they are both adult enough to move beyond the things that have happened between their families and at least try to have a relationship is beyond beautiful. And what Nash does is beyond anything I expected!! It’s a great story that shows what is truly important!!
(4.25 stars)
Ms. Kennedy wasted no time shaking things up for Megan and Nash in the third installment of her Kinky Spurs series. I loved the push and pull between these two. They are fighting an uphill battle with their family’s lifelong feud between them. I was very glad to see Megan written as a strong and independent woman who knows how to stick up for herself. This story is filled with ups and downs, the animals steal the show and I was left with a huge stupid smile on my face well after I read the final word.
I really loved this book. It’s the third book in the series and last Blackshaw brother to fall. This book brings the heat, but it also packs in plenty of heart and feels. Nash had me from the beginning, but what he does for the cat and kittens I would be rewarding him just like Megan does. That’s the moment Nash became top book boyfriend material to me. I just loved the way he is with Megan it brings out a different side of him. He has many swoon worthy moments. I do feel for Megan though because she’s stuck smack dab in the middle of a feuding families. There is the heat and heart in this book, but it also had me laughing quite often. There is also a little suspense that keeps the reader guessing. Nash is a little adrift with no certain path, but with the help of his family and Megan he may find the perfect path for his future. This book is definitively a must read!
Hard Riding Cowboy is book three in the Kinky Spurs series by Stacey Kennedy. I loved the first two books in this series but I don’t know what it was about this one. I think it was my favorite, that Nash is my favorite brother. This book is sweeter than the other two somehow. Megan and Nash were perfect for each other. It just took them awhile to figure that out.
Nash Blackshaw is the youngest of the three Blackshaw brothers. He was a successful rodeo bull rider until a severe spinal injury ended his professional career. Now he’s home and helping his family get their new guest ranch off the ground. Nash is used to a very different kind of life. He’s trying to adjust to this new pace. But he doesn’t know where he wants his life to go once things are squared away on his family’s ranch. What does he want to do with his life? He doesn’t like to look back at the career that was cut short. He hasn’t fully accepted what happened to him.
Megan Harrison is the owner of Kinky Spurs, the western themed bar in River Rock, Colorado where both she and Nash live. Nash’s father passed away about a year ago but when he was alive, he and Megan’s father were business rivals, or more like enemies. Both Megan and Nash and his brothers were raised to hate the other family. Even now with Nash’s father gone, the hatred festers. Despite this, Megan and Nash have been doing a push and pull thing for years now, flirting, but never giving in. The animosity between their families is part of what kept them apart. Nash has been enjoying the game, the pursuit. Megan believes that it is all it is to Nash, a game. That if he were ever to actually win her, then it would all be over.
“He took nothing seriously. All of this was a game to him. She was a game. Megan needed, no, deserved to be more.”
When Nash and Megan finally give in to their chemistry, it was everything they ever dreamed of, and more. But, once will never be enough. Nash wants Megan more than anything he’s ever wanted, or needed. She makes him feel at peace somehow. There are things going wrong on the ranch, though. Things that set Nash’s family back significantly in trying to get their new guest ranch going. Nash is convinced that Megan’s father is behind it. That he wants Blackshaw land and will go to any extreme to get it. Can he keep his feelings for Megan separate from his hatred for her father?
“She needed, no wanted, to be more important than this bitterness he had toward her father. She wanted to matter. Especially to him.”
Megan cares deeply for Nash. But does he just want to win her? Is she just another way for Nash to win out over her father? Can she love Nash but keep her life with him separate from her family because they can never be in the same room together without trying to kill each other.
I just loved these two. I do admit Megan frustrated me a bit but I did understand her decisions. She was acting out of emotions and I can’t blame her for that. She just wanted the two men in her life that she loved to care enough about her that they were willing to stop the feud. I also loved the closeness between Nash and his brothers, well, his whole family. I loved that Nash had no hesitation to talk to his brothers when he needed advice.
This has been such a fantastic series. I know that Stacey is working on another addition, Meet Me Under The Mistletoe, which will be Darryl, the town cop’s story. I can’t wait.
“He once thought fate screwed up. Turned out fate got things right.”
Oh I so love the Blackshaw brothers! This book is the third in the series and one I have really been wanting. There has always been a tension in the air between Nash and Megan Harrison. A chemistry. BUT was it real or just because there has been a feud between the two fathers for years. While there is a HEA, boy is it hard fought for. Both Nash and Megan love each other and truly have for a long time. However Megan thinks that Nash is only after the victory, the win after the chase. She knows that if she gives in, her father will skin someone alive. Well, nature and a faulty condom have a hand in their getting together. It is up to Nash not to screw up and also a truce needs to come between the families.
While there were some slow parts to this book, over all it held my attention and kept me wanting more.
Hard-Riding Cowboy by Stacey Kennedy is the third book in the Kinky Spurs series and the first one I read in the series. This was a star-crossed lovers story about two people who were circling each other for years who had a lot of chemistry, but also a lot of history. Their fathers were bitter rivals and their families were thought to hate each other. And yet Megan Harrison and Nash Blackshaw could not stay away from each other.
Megan owns Kinky Spurs and though she wants nothing to do with her father’s business, she loves him. But she also wants Nash, but can she trust him? Nash is focused on running his family business, the Blackshaw Cattle Company’s Guest Ranch. He has so many responsibilities and yet he can’t get Megan out of his mind. These two shared explosive chemistry whenever they were together until they could no longer deny it.
Though Megan and Nash know they want each other, will forces around them tear them apart? Between things happening at his ranch, her business responsibilities and her father, do they even have a chance? Even so you cannot stop cheering hard for them! This was such a sweet and sexy story with a bit of drama, loved it.

This fantastic book is third in the Kinky Spurs series and it features in Nash an Megan. I think out of the three Blackshaw brothers, Nash is the most damaged. He seem to immediately fall into step with Megan and it was heartwarming to watch. He needed that special someone to believe in him. I was shocked at the outcome of the investigation and the way it was dealt with.
I’m not sure if this is the last book in the series but if it is, it’s a really great way to end it. If by chance it’s not, because there are definitely other characters begging to get their stories told, then I can’t wait for more.

Having read book one of this series but missed book two I was thrilled to read book three. This time we have Nash Blackshaw and Megan Harrison, in a bit of a Capulet & Montague situation, getting hot and heavy at a wedding. They have been circling one another for awhile and the push-pull game has been a fun one for both with a relationship on simmer waiting to come to a boil. One of the problems is the feud that raged between both of their fathers and seems to have carried on even though Nash’s father is dead. A number of bad things have happened on Blackwell land and though Nash is pretty sure Megan’s father is behind them she doesn’t want to hear about it. Nope, she wants to play ostrich and pretend everything is or can be “happy” – she does not have to make a decision between Nash or her father. There was one part of this story that reminded me of an O’Henry short story – think it is titled “The Gift” – in which the couple each pawn/sell something to buy a gift for their partner and I found that an interesting twist. Will Nash and Megan find a way to a HEA? Will Nash find a purpose for his future after being unable to continue on the bull riding circuit? Will Nash and Megan’s father find a way to co-exist without feuding?
Did I enjoy this book? Yes
Would I read more in this series or written by this author? Yes
Thank you to NetGalley and SMP-Swerve for the ARC – This is my honest review.
3-4 Stars
Megan Harrison and Nash Blackshaw are supposed to be sworn enemies, their families have been feuding over business dealings for years now. And while they admit the tension caused from their families is there lingering, so are the intense sparks that seem to spike whenever they are near one another. They know getting involved would bring all sorts of drama, but their hearts don’t seem to care about that… they just keep pulling them closer together. Question is will they go with what they know, or wander closer to the exciting, and steamy unknown?
Hard-Riding Cowboy is third installment in the uber sexy Kinky Spurs series, and I have to say my favorite addition thus far! There was just something about Nash that had my heart racing, and my swoon meter overloading. While he was dominating and bossy as all get out, he also had this unexpected sweet side that really touched my heart. There is just something about a sexy cowboy with alpha tendencies and a good heart that brings me to my knees, and Nash had me in the palm of his hand the whole way through. With each page I turned I found more reasons to love him, he was seriously something else. I loved this story so much, the words were addictive and heartfelt, and the heat between the characters had a overwhelming presence the whole way through! Highly recommend you meet these two, their story is sure to have you smiling and swooning throughout!
I requested an advanced copy of this title from NetGalley, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest and unbiased opinion.

An enjoyable read. Nash and his kittens were just adorable, He for sure met his match in Megan. I loved watching their relationship evolve.

This is the third book in the series & whilst it could be read on its own I personally felt having read the earlier books added to my enjoyment. The characters are well fleshed & the pace of the story is very good & I read into the early hours to finish it. Nash is the brash, arrogant former bull rider who rushed into a burning barn to rescue the kittens he’s been raising. So he’s a big softie really. Megan has been determined to succeed on her own & has worked her butt off to make Kinky Spurs a success. The pair have been in love with each other for years but haven’t acted on it because their father were business rivals but whenever they are near each other the air sizzles & finally combusts when hey get together. I’ve loved the whole series & this is a fitting end to the series as it draws everything together. An engrossing hot read which has its tender moments, not forgetting Gus, Diva & her kittens who will melt your heart
My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read
We have come full circle with the Blackshaw brothers. What a great ride these gentlemen have provided for us. So different but still a family. I am a huge fan of family in stories. This one has love and straight-talking brothers. When will men ever learn to control their emotions? Never! I really liked that this book dealt with that issue and it did not sugar coat it, but made it the main issue. I respected Megan for her stance of not letting these men dictate her happiness. Nash and Megan are great together and I had fun reading their story.
I received a complimentary copy from the publisher through NetGalley.
A sweet romance between two people who are part of a family feud that has gone on for years. Nash has always hated Megan’s father, who he thinks is a money and power hungry SOB. He and Megan have grown up together and he’s always pursued her. They’ve played a cat and mouse game until the fateful night that changes their whole world. Nash has never gotten over the accident that took his bull riding career away and is searching for some purpose in life that will give him the satisfaction and challenge he had in his PBA days. Megan is a strong, independent woman. She’s tired of the stupid feuding and doesn’t want to raise her child in such an environment. Nash loves Megan deeply and is willing to make changes, if necessary, to keep Megan and his child at his side. There’s a little mystery going on and some really spicy scenes. I enjoyed watching both Nash and Megan grow and become a solid couple while overcoming the generations of hate and mistrust.
I’ve really enjoyed all three Blackshaw brothers. This whole series is a good one. I’m so glad that Nash and Megan finally got their HEA. The story started out with a sexy bang. Uh, totally got my attention right from the first page. Nash with baby kittens is so dang adorable. After reading about the brothers, I need to check out other books by this author. I really like her writing.
First off, this book is smokin’ hot! Nash and Megan start us off with a crazy, sexy, encounter, and that is just the beginning. Every time, in lots of places, these two are burning up for each other!
But that isn’t all their story is, though it is definitely a super-duper bonus. There is quite a few buried emotions in these two. Megan has tried to ignore the feud between her family and Nash’s, for years. Even when it keeps exploding in her face, she doesn’t voice her concerns. Nash has pride and stubbornness to spare, but he also has buried his emotions and hurt deep. Megan is the only thing he is willing to change for, and while he is slow on the uptake, when he finally comes around, he does it amazingly big
The wild Blackshaw boy and his favourite “freckles” to chase, finally get their much deserved HEA!
