Peyton Price – Given an assignment to write an article on an outlaw motorcycle club, what award-winning journalist would say no? Not me. I had a weakness for bad-boys, tattoos, and men on motorcycles. But Nick Navarro wasn’t a typical biker. He wasn’t even a typical outlaw. Nick Navarro – As president of the Filthy Fckers MC, when I was offered an opportunity to be interviewed by a local … to be interviewed by a local journalist, I didn’t accept for the notoriety or the publicity. I agreed to get a shot at the 27 year-old pssy between the journalist’s legs.
She had plans to get in and get out, and do so quick.
But once I lay claim to something, it’s mine.
Until I decide otherwise.

When’s the last time a Scott Hildreth book made me cry?
Never until now.
We all knew Hard was going to be just that, and once again the author didn’t disappoint.
Peyton is probably one of my favorite female characters ever. She’s strong, opinionated and a little nuts, I’m pretty sure she an I could be best friends were she real.
She’s a reporter, given the job of writing a story on the Filthy F*ckers president Nicholas Nevarro.
This assignment is going to be the best and worst thing that ever happened to her.
While this book is about the MC and we do get acquainted with a few members, the MC side is sort of woven into Payton’s story.
Her story gets pretty dark, and yes there are triggers so please read the warnings prior to reading this book.
I personally can say that it did not trigger me, it was handled shall we say with kid gloves, was well written and not graphic. I found myself seeing similarities in her way of dealing with it but it didn’t bother me or make me break down. I didn’t even put the book down and come back to it, I read right on through without any issue. Thank you Scott for the way you handled this aspect of the story, you made it so I didn’t have to miss out on a great book just because it may bring up things I don’t want to relive.
Nick and Payton are great characters, her mouth is probably one of my favorite parts of the book, she just can’t stop the snarky replies and it makes for a fun read.
And Peebee, I think I might have fell in love with him, more like tripped an face planted. What he did for Payton is beyond anything I’d expected and made me respect and adore him and I hope he has a book coming soon. I love it when a secondary character can steal my heart!
Hard is another hit for Hildreth. From the cover to the dedication to the very last page, which is amazing by the way, Hard pulled me into Payton’s world an then into Nick’s and kept me glued and losing sleep because I just could not put it down.
I’m late to the game, but love this one by SD Hildreth! A great start to a great MC series! On to the next one…
This is the first book I’ve read from this author and it won’t be my last. This book has everything I love when it comes to a biker romance read. I in any way do not condone to a woman being raped so I could have gone without that part. Other than that I love the dirty, dark, nitty and gritty that comes with mc romance reads. I enjoyed both Nick and Peyton’s characters and I even enjoyed Pee Bee and Nick’s parents. I absolutely loved the back and forth banter between Nick and Peyton and Nick and Pee Bee. This was a good story and I look forward to reading the next book in this series. I wished there was a little more to the ending but I think with it came to what happened in the story, the ending fit it perfectly.
This is my 26th book that I’ve read by Mr. Hildreth. You can say I’m kinda, sorta, a wee bit of a fan of his writing, especially his characters. No weak, pansy-ass or typical characters for this guy.
I devoured this book in a couple of hours, that’s how wrapped up into it I was. I liked Nick and Payton. I really wish there was more of them together, it felt more of a side story to me instead of the main one. Almost like they are just friends that sleep together and she met his parents. Not a typical HEA, but really, everyone’s HEA is different. For a hot second when I got to the end, I was all that’s it?! But the more I thought about it, the article Payton wrote was perfect. It was like, boom. Mic drop.
Sidenote observation – What’s up with all the “uhhm”? There are 31 of those bad boys in there, I counted! I know, I know, why should I care? I can’t help it! It was so distracting. I can say after 26 books, the one word that wasn’t in here was rearward. I thought it was different and interesting that you hardly ever use backwards, it’s typically always rearward. I can’t help it, I pay attention to shit like that. But seriously, I like your words…Hard. <----ha! See what I did there?! Okay, okay, I'm dropping my mic now.
I should know by this point not to expect the expected from Scott Hildreth . . . but he has done it once again with the story of Nick and Peyton. HARD is a word that can describe so many things. The loss of a loved one, facing war, moving forward after a life changing event, putting your faith and trust in someone you never expected too . . . Scott addresses them all and more in a way that no one else can. His characters are real. You experience and feel what they do. It’s not just another MC book. It’s not just another love story. It’s so much more . . . and Peyton is a true adventurer and one hell of a woman . . .and Nick is a bad ass biker and more of a man than most.
HARD was a great intro to the FF brotherhood. It’s a book you don’t want to miss out on!
Ok, normally MC books are not my first choice. But my friends kept telling my how good this series was. So, a little down time inbetween the books I normally gravitate to, I started Hard, the first book in Scott Hildreth’s FFMC series. I could not put it down once I started.
Peyton is the perfect woman for Nick/Crip. I had to chuckle at their initial meeting. I don’t know of any other book that could have pulled off a great story with that meeting. I’m still sitting here shaking my head as I think of it. And there were some twists in this book that I was not expecting.
I don’t know that MC books will now be a go to for me, but I’m definitely hooked on the FFMC series. I’m eager to start the next book to see where this group of men go next. Rough is next on my list.
What can I say….I have yet to read a book of Scott Hildreth’s that I did not love and Hard is no exception. The energy, sexiness and real life drama and expectations kept me turning the page in anticipation. This story deals with real and true situations that affect women and the aftermath of such traumatic events on all the people around her. Hard is FULL of friendship, intensity and brotherhood and was written with style and grace, in a way only Mr. Hildreth can accomplish! I am looking forward to the next installment in what, I am sure, will be another well deserved award winning series.
