My rule: Never let an old flame burn you twice.Other people gave second chances—I didn’t. My modus operandi was to move on to the next girl in line and forget the previous one.So when Tawnee Milano said she needed her space, I let her go. Then I left our mutual employer for a new job with the CIA and didn’t look back. But a coded distress message from her sends me right back to where I was when we … back to where I was when we first split up. The possibility of losing her forever forces me to relax my rigid stance. With her life in danger, I’m finally facing my true feelings for her.
Mottos are all fine and good in theory. Not so much in practice.
Now my hard line policy is to get her back—and keep her this time.

This is the third book in the crossing line series but this is also a spin-off of the Stelle security series. You will meet all the characters from the previous books. I liked this book it wasn’t my favorite Roman really changed into a completely different character. After he receives an encoded text message from his former girlfriend and co-worker Tawnee he does a complete 180 and goes from his Hard Line of never being with anyone more than once to being obsessive about getting Tawnee back. Even though he hasn’t spoken to her in three years. There is a lot of new players in this book both good and bad and you won’t know who is who until the end.
Tawnee is a really great character she is tough as nails but still shows emotion and she is trusting and has that women’s touch if that makes sense.
I love a good romantic second chance story, with tons of action but this one felt off for me.
Hard Line is book three of the Crossing Lines series and although it can be read as a standalone I recommend you read the first two books as an added bonus. Roman is a CIA officer with commitment issues and Tawnee works private security for the wealthiest man in the world. They were in a relationship years before but she needed space so they broke up. Years later they run into each other and the spark is still there. This is one of those books that you want to read nonstop to find out how it will end yet at the same time you don’t’ want the story to end. This is an action packed, intense story filled with danger, mystery, suspense, unexpected twists, humor, steam and a great ending. A great addition to the Crossing Line series with interesting characters that have off the charts hot chemistry.
Roman and Tawnee were a couple when Tawnee decided she needed space. Roman let her go, and didn’t go after her. He doesn’t give second chances. However, his teammates know he’s still in love with her even though Roman won’t admit it. He gets a coded distress message from Tawnee. After decoding it he knows she’s in serious trouble and he needs to rescue her. So, him and his team go to Dubai to save Tawnee.
Such a good story, I love this whole series!! The cover of the book is exactly what I would picture Roman looking like! The characters were amazing and Roman and Tawnee had quite the story to tell!
Hard Line is Book 3 in this spin off series. I have read all of the books and have loved each and every one of them. This one is no different. There were parts of this book when I was scared to go to the next page and see what danger was lurking. There was non stop action, suspense and of course quite a bit of heat. These guys are so loyal to each other and their women it’s amazing.
Roman will always be there to save or try to save Tawnee. When the gang arrives and they find Tawnee safe and sound and have to dig further, what will they find? Is Tawnee a guilty party or is she part of a game RAF is playing? Will Roman be able to save the woman he has always loved and will they be able to get passed everything that has happened? Love love loved this book. Cannot wait for Blake to have his own book!
While this is book three in the Crossing Lines series it can be read as a complete stand alone. Granted having read the other books in the series will help you understand the supporting characters in this book better as you will know there backstories. The author did do a good job in trying to help the reader know more about them in case you didn’t read the other books.
This is a second chance love story between Roman and Tawnee. It has been several years since the breakup. Neither were able to forget the other and when Roman receives a distress message from Tawnee he is off to help. While I really loved the suspense and twists of the story, I did find some of the storyline difficult to understand but that could be the culture in where the story mainly takes place. There were also a few things that just were confusing as to how they happened or rather the story jumped. To me the flow was off. It was a difficult book to put down and the surprises helped in the four star rating instead of a three star rating. I found that several of the events were predictable but even with that predictability there were plenty of other twists to want to get to the end to see what was going to happen. I look forward to reading more from this author.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I love these characters so much. Roman and Tawnee are fated to be together, by but they both needed so time apart to recognize their bond. When they are forced together to terminate a threat, they acknowledge this is their time and their love is hard fought. With their friends and family we are treated to an adrenaline fueled ride that will make you smile at the end.
Hard Line is the 3rd book in the Crossing Lines series and I thought it was the best book yet. This is a second chance romance.
Roman hasn’t heard from Tawnee Milano in 3 years. Ever since she said that she called it quits. Roman was never going to commit to their relationship so Tawnee had said no more.
Now he got a distress text from Tawnee and it called up all the reasons he wants her and he was going to rescue her.
Only problem is she didn’t send out the distress call but who did? Hard Line has suspense, romance and twists to the story. I was a little disappointed when one of the main characters in this story turned out to be a bad guy. I thought he was charming but those are the kind of guys to watch out for. (let me clarify my disappointment – I wasn’t disappointed in the story written just in that he turned out to be a bad guy).
Okay for some reason I didn’t connect the dots. Crossing Lines series is a spin off from the Steele Security series and no they don’t have to be read. I just think I would like to know more about the characters that show up in this series. So, when I get a chance I will go back and read them. I just can’t seem to get enough of A.D. Justice’s books.
5 Stars
Talk about a wild ride! Hard Line is an action packed, keep you on the edge of your seat, second chance romance between Roman and Tawnee. These two ended their relationship three years earlier, but neither one ever really got over the other. Then one day out of the blue, Roman receives an SOS text from Tawnee through an encrypted code only they know. He drops everything and grabs his team to travel to the other side of the world to rescue her. Only when they get there, things aren’t exactly what they seemed.
I loved Roman and Tawnee. Their chemistry is off the charts and burns so hot it will melt your kindle. Roman is so swoony and will totally sweep you off your feet. I was engrossed from the first page and felt like I was along for the ride with characters. Hard Line is full of action and suspense and kept me guessing the entire time. Another great addition to this Crossing Lines series.

OHH does book three in this series really take you for a ride in this epic second chance romance story between Roman and Tawnee. This is high intrigue and intense moments through this book that will keep you on your toes. There is raw passion and emotions through this story that hit you hard with the feels. The one thing I have loved about this series is how they all intertwine with each other. Not just this series alone but also with the Steele Security series. It adds such depth to the story and amazing character build. The ups and downs with crazy twists keep you on your toes and I loved every moment of it!
I’m so sad to see these guys go but this was a perfect way to go. Roman and Tawnee have a rough past and haven’t spoken to each other. But he knows he lost her and regrets it. So when she’s in need he runs to her. This story was action packed and read like a really terrific action movie. It was also filled with steaminess and lots of yummy male testosterone. I adored everything about Roman. His stubbornness, alpha behavior, but his soft side is what made him. And Tawnee was an incredibly strong, fiesty heroine from beginning to end. Another fantastic book to this series!
Well I just finished Tawnee and Roman’s story and I am on the fence about this one. Part of me wanted to give it a 3* rating and the other part wanted to give it 4*. I love a good romantic suspense book however second chance romances tend to be hit or miss. I had a hard time connecting with this one. I have read all the books in the series and Roman is a bit of a tough character to like. He is a “my way or the highway” type and that attitude is what lead to him and his girlfriend/teammate Tawnee breaking up 3 years ago. He receives a mysterious text from her asking for help. He hasn’t spoken to her or heard from her in those 3 years. She is in Dubai and he is in Miami but he will move heaven and earth to get to the woman he now realizes that he loved and shouldn’t have let go? The biggest problem is that Tawnee never contacted Roman so who is manipulating these two to be together? Well it is a romance novel but Roman is far from a romantic character. I did love Tawnee. She was bright, witty and funny. Hard Line is the third book in the Crossing Lines series however characters from Steele Security series will be appearing in this book so if you haven’t read those be prepared to be a bit confused about some of the characters. I recommend reading the other books in the series first but I still recommend reading this one even if it wasn’t my favorite in the series. It is written from dual POV.
This is book 3. I personally believe you should read book 1 &2 because there are a lot of secondary players from those books and its easy to get lost. The book started off a little slow, because I wasn’t fan of Roman. I hung in there because A.D. Justice has never steered me wrong. I got to see Roman evolve, and I liked the man he became. Tawnee was awesome from the git go, but hey us woman rock. 🙂 Great suspense, hot steamy sex, and the underlying thread that is weaved through this book is taken from women’s plights today in other countries. Sutle, well done….and you get a HEA. There were a twists and turns with who the ‘evil’ was, I liked that. Thank you A.D. Justice, Booksprout for the Arc. All thoughts and opinions are my own and were unsolicited.
Fast-paced, tension-filled second chance romantic suspense. Tawnee and Roman have a past from which neither have moved on. When Roman has a chance to become involved in her life again, things get complicated and dangerous very quickly. This book is a great addition to the interconnected Crossing Lines books. Tawnee was a great character-smart, realistically strong, logical, forgiving. I liked the way Roman’s character grew and matured to become worthy of Tawnee’s love. The plot was fantastic, and kept me turning pages long past my bed time. If you’re looking for action and suspense with some gnarly turns, set in exotic locales, this book is for you.
I received a copy of this book. My honest review is voluntarily provided.
Hard Line is the third in the Crossing Lines series, told in both pov, which I love! Second chance is my favorite and boy does Roman want a second chance with Tawnee, but he doesn’t want to admit it to himself, even three years later. She’d had enough of his alpha bonehead ways and left him without a backward glance when she couldn’t abide his utter lack of commitment. Roman makes a large transformative arc in this book, he gets a gold star for finding his feelings. The story takes place three years later when Roman gets an encrypted distress message from her. He calls his CIA buddies and they get “the band back together” as it were for a rescue mission to Dubai.
There is a twisty plot and nobody is exactly who they claim to be in Tawnee’s current security detail. She’s in real danger but she doesn’t realize it until Roman and the guys show up to save her. There was plenty of action and to keep my adrenaline pumping. Justice is very clever with her storytelling and I refuse to spoil it. I’ll tell you that the story kept me completely engaged and flipping the pages until I finished the book. I utterly abandoned my family to fend for themselves.
The epilogue was an exceptional treat with the Steele Security bunch including their significant others and kiddo’s on the scene. I’m completely satisfied with my HEA
