Crow is our hard man – great book!
Hard Freak picks up towards the end of Sex Freak, Elijah’s story, and although each is a stand-a-lone, I highly recommend reading each book, in order to really enjoy this series.
Fay is Polly’s younger cousin and has replaced the lead singer of Wreckage. She has the energy of a squirrel on crack, and is just as crazy. She also has a great heart and is hugely attracted to Crow, the drummer for The Freaks.
Two things stand in her way. Polly is as fierce some as any mother, and Crow himself. He thinks she’s too young, and doesn’t want to upset Polly, and in turn, Damo, lead singer of The Freaks. Finally, Fay weakens Crow’s walls, and he agrees to a relationship with her, but, unfortunately for her, he wants to go slow. And holy crap, it’s slow! Fay’s frustration is almost hilarious – she just wants to jump him.
The story, however, moves at a way quicker pace, and Candy Starr keeps the chemistry ramped up between them as well as all the usual rock star shenanigan’s that goes on with the rest of the crew.
Even though Fay has been warned away from Crow because of the darkness that seems apparent within him, Fay only sees the good and gentle caring side of him. Perhaps he thinks his own past is dark, while Fay understands his motives, and drive to protect those he loves. The one who blamed him and ran, wants to make amends, and as Fay attempts to bring his past and present together, it seems that this time it is Crow who will walk – in anger.
Where does that leave the tour?
Another fabulous episode in the lives of The Freaks and tour partners, Wreckage. For me it was a relatively quick read, and one I enjoyed very much. Highly recommended and 4.5 Stars.
Back on tour with The Freaks!!!
When Fay joined Wreckage as their new lead singer, she set her sights on Crow, drummer for The Freaks. Her cousin, Polly, is adamant that this is a bad idea and does her best to block any attempt by Fay to get close to him. But Fay hasn’t been given the nickname Firecracker for nothing. She’s spunky, determined, and a magnet for trouble. Crow has been a mystery throughout the series. He’s quiet, aloof, and holding onto a ton of secrets.
I’ve been looking forward to Crow’s book since the beginning but his secretiveness kept me from really connecting with him but Fay’s insistence that Crow was everything made me believe that he was. As Crow’s secrets were revealed, I understood his reluctance to get close and everything just clicked into place. The ending has me chomping at the bit for the final book in this series. I can’t wait to see how everything works out for The Freaks!!
