“Hard Crush blew me away!“One of the best second chance romances I ever read…Fun, emotional, and sooooo hot!”I never thought I’d see her againLet alone find her in the same spot I left her ten years ago, teaching at the high school where we fell in love. Back then I was the geek with too many ideas and one girl I wanted forever. Now I’m the man driving a multi-billion dollar tech industry. And … wanted forever.
Now I’m the man driving a multi-billion dollar tech industry. And these days, one night with a soft body is as close to forever as I get.
It’s all I want. Or it was.
I should have kept walking
But I wanted that laugh. That smile.
I wanted five minutes before I got back to the life with no room for my past.
One kiss was all I meant to take
But then her fingers were in my hair, her breath hot against my lips.
My hands… everywhere.
Now I want more
I want her, but she only wants the guy I used to be.
And just like the first time, I can’t stay, and she won’t leave…

It was a fun read. Sometimes the story would be difficult to keep your interest in, but stick with it. Overall it is a great storyline.
I liked the characters and the story flowed nicely. An easy read that has a great story line!
I liked the story but it wasn’t never really explained why they broke up to begin with. There were several references to a promise but no explanation. It was just kind of weird. That aspect anyway. Otherwise likable characters and enjoyable read
Loved the steamy scenes.
Loved it

You guys …. THIS is what Mira Lyn Kelly was put on this earth to write. THIS is her voice. THIS is the author I fell in love with years ago. It is phenomenal. I only read a rough draft but it’s pretty close to the end package so I’m very confident in saying this is a must read for not only Mira fans but romance fiction fans in general.
This second chance to get it right story will run you thru a rainbow of emotions, fill your heart with joy and put a huge smile on your face from the very beginning! #TRUST
It’s been a while since I’ve read a sweet and swoony second-chance romance!
So Abigail Mitchel and Hank Wagner were high school sweethearts. They parted not so amicably and through the years, thoughts of each other still haunted them respectively… and so a decade passed and they saw each other again… Hank wanted to rekindle what once was, but Abby is very reluctant to the point of pushing him away.
Aaand I’m not gonna say anything more. Sure, I admit its a happy ending… but I’m pretty sure you’d wanna know the journey between these two… it wasn’t all rainbows and unicorns. There is angst and drama as well.
I love Mira Lyn Kelly books! I enjoy reading them so much because it’s inspiring and uplifting! For those fans of Holly Stephens, and Lauren Blakely or if you just want something light and sweet, this is the book to pick up next!
Sometimes letting someone go for what you feel are the right reasons are really the worst reasons of all.
Abby pushed her high school sweetheart Hank away thinking their lives were headed in complete opposite directions and she didn’t want to drag him down. Ten years later they meet again when he returns to their hometown. But will this end the same as the first time?
This story is so sweet (and pretty sexy too) that you just want to cheer Hank on and slap Abby in the face for being so stubborn and tell her to wake up! He works so hard for their new relationship and she’s so scared. I still loved them both and loved their story.
Great book! I look forward to reading more from Mira Lyn Kelly.
Such a great second chance romance. Hank & Abby dated all through high school and only broke up when Hank had a chance at college and do great things with his life. Abby had just gotten settled in her life after being in a revolving door of foster homes and wanted to stay in the one place she called home. Ten years later and they meet back up at their high school reunion. They pick right up, kinda, where they left off. Abby is still hesitant because she knows Hank will leave again. I loved how when they finally got back to each other they realized they had moved on in their lives but that they were only really existing. They were better together and made each other happy and full. Abby’s neighbor Helen was a hoot and just what Abby needed in her life. Hank has great friend’s in Jack and Greg and I can’t wait for them to get their own stories. I loved this book and would definitely recommend it.
A sweet and sexy second chance at love story. It will capture your heart from the beginning as it has you feeling all sorts of emotions. I absolutely loved the characters. I loved the connection and banter between them. The chemistry is sexy and steamy. It’s fun and entertaining story that will pull at your heartstrings. Looking forward to reading more. I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book.
With every Mira Lyn Kelly book I read, I enjoy her writing even more. Hard Crush is a wonderful second chance romance story with all the emotions!
Hank and Abby dated for four years when Hank was given the opportunity of a lifetime. Abby knew that she would have to step away from Hank so he could have the life he deserved, and she did. Ten years later, Hank is back and has his sights set on Abby.
I absolutely loved this book. Hard Crush ran through every single emotion possible. The writing is so flawless, you feel completely connected with the characters. I loved the banter, the chemistry after ten years that was still going strong, Abby’s reluctance and Hank knowing what he truly wanted. Hard Crush is one of the best second chance romances I’ve read!
I am a big fan of second chance romance and this book is now in the category of my favorites. This is the story of Abby & Hank. They were high school sweethearts. Abby became a teacher & Hank became a tech billionaire. Abby tried to get over Hank but everywhere she looked he was there in the paper, on TV… And Hank never forgot about Abby. He is back in town now for their high school reunion. Abby tries to resist him because he is only in town for a short time but Hank isn’t letting her slip away.
This was a funny, heart warming and sexy read. I loved both of the characters. Abby is a strong woman and I can totally see her point of view. Hank is hilarious and swoon worthy. These two together are the perfect attraction.
I highly suggest this story to fans of fun and romantic reads. This is a sweet story that will have you laughing, smiling, frustrated by the choices the characters make at times, but in the end it will warm your heart. And if you are like me, it will be come a new favorite. I definitely want to check out more from this author.
Sexy, sweet, and a refreshingly new take on second chances Hard Crush was phenomenal. It was one of those books I started reading and before I knew it I was at the end and had no clue hours had passed. I was so thoroughly engrossed in Hank and Abby I lost track of all time. These two were adorable and had me feeling all the emotions!
I can’t put my finger on what it is exactly, maybe it’s the hot “geek” that is Hank, maybe it’s the sweet & steamy way they are together, or maybe it’s the way they kept me on my toes with “will they or won’t they?”, but something about Hard Crush feels so new with one of my favorite tropes, second chance romance. It was like a breath of fresh air reading this! Everything about these characters was lovable. Even things that in the past may have driven me up a wall with Hank and Abby I just ended up loving it. Mira Lyn Kelly worked some sort of magic with this book and now I can’t wait for more from her!
I enjoyed this fun, second chance romance that gives you plenty of feels. A sweet story of having the right one at the wrong moment and then getting another shot at a HEA. Hank and Abby, I loved the characters. The hero and heroine are well developed and it is super easy to connect with them. With some heartbreak, humor, hope and a love that can stand the test of time, this book will move you and touch your heart.
Fun, sexy, and completely entertaining! I enjoyed the these characters so much, especially the sexy geek Hank! The story is very well done and while slightly predictable it was fresh enough to keep my attention.
Abby made a decision ten years ago that affected both their lives. Now they have a chance to reconnect and get things right. Problem is Hank doesn’t plan on staying and Abby has issues she needs to resolve. Is it once again not the right time for them or will they fight to find a way to make it work?
This was a truly wonderful read and one I highly recommend.
4.5 stars for Wonderful 2nd chance romance.
Hard Crush was my first ever book by author Mira Lyn Kelly. It’s a second chance romance which is seriously hot but also wrung my heart in places. I liked it a lot. A lot, but I didn’t love it. Not completely and I don’t really know why. There was a good storyline, it was very well written and the characters were well fleshed and thought out. It’s just… I don’t know. Hank and Abby were highschool sweethearts. They were crazy in love, but Abby held something back and when Hank got a scholarship to his top college, she pushed him away and they broke up. They never spoke again, never saw each other, or called or texted. It was just a total caught off.
Ten years later, now with a high tech company of his own, this super hot geek billionaire is back in his hometown to visit his old school where he has donated a much needed science wing. But, during a walk through the school he hears a laugh from his past. His very intimate past.
Abby wasn’t expecting to ever see Hank again after letting him go to pursue his life goals, leaving her behind in Chicago. She certainly wasn’t expecting to find him standing outside her classroom door with a smug grin on his face. The chemistry between these two was burning off the pages from the second they got together. But, Abby kept Hank at arms length for a while. She has some issues from her childhood, and is scared of being left. She can’t trust enough to believe fully and it’s this lack of belief that gets in the way of their relationship.
She lacks close female friends her own age as well for some reason, or they weren’t introduced anyway. She has her mom and an older female neighbor whom she confides in. And she has one male colleague that she’s friend’s with.
The attraction they held for each other hadn’t died in the intervening years and once Abby succumbed to Hank’s charm, things got hot and heavy. Until Hank’s job called him away from Chicago and once again, Abby was ready to bail on their relationship.
Can Hank make her see things are different now or will Abby’s past scar their present and future once again.
My weekend binge read
I bought this book after reading Dirty Player. Mira Lyn Kelly has zoomed onto my favorite author list and is close to the top.
So why did I like this book? characters, characters, characters … oh! and their dialogue. It’s got best friends who are visitors from other books and family trauma that will break your heard.
This book is super if you like second chance romances with a hero who is totally head over heels in love with his girl. Hank and Abby have been keeping tabs on each other from high school but neither has done a thing about it … until Hank is nudged by his friend Jack. He and Abby fight off the growing chemistry, while rekindling their friendship.
Amid Hank’s attempts to pull Abby out of her comfort zone is sigh-worthy dialogue and baring of one’s soul (by Hank). The MDQ is whether Abby can get past her lifelong hurt of being abandoned in the worst way imaginable.
If you are looking for a great book that you’ll likely start immediately re-reading, download this book now … and check out Ms. Kelly’s other books. This one makes 3 read for me and I’m now following her and have joined her FB group!
