The Heart of Stone series moves into the next generation with Hard As Stone, a full-length STANDALONE novel featuring Tristan and Nina’s son, Ethan.Trouble. Playboy. Heartbreakingly gorgeous. Ethan Stone, the only son and spitting image of billionaire Tristan Stone, has a long line of women who would kill for a night with him, and rumor has it he’s more than happy to oblige. But Ethan has a … oblige.
But Ethan has a problem. His family wants him to settle down. Why, he can’t understand. But he needs to figure out a way to convince them he’s given up his wild ways while at the same time living his life the way he wants to.
He has a plan, though, and Summer Carmichael, the quintessential girl-next-door, is perfect to help him. But Ethan better watch out or he might just find himself falling for exactly the kind of woman his family wishes he’d bring home.
NOTE: While Hard As Stone is in the Heart of Stone series, this book, along with Ethan’s sisters’ books Set In Stone and Silent As A Stone (which will release later in 2019) are all STANDALONE BOOKS and can be read individually on their own. The number in the series is included only for retailer purposes, not reading purposes.

Arc review For honest review this is a beautiful story of Ethan a playboy photographer and son to stone worldwide hotels .When he meets summer assistant at belle magazine he just knows she the girl to help him.
This is the first book I’ve read by K.M. Scott, it took me a minute get into the story but once I got into it, it was a good read.
Ethan Stone, spoiled, alpha, sexy male is a photographer who gets around, he meets Summer Carmichael at a photo shoot for Belle Magazine, Summer was in charge of the shoot but she could have been a model herself except she was to sweet.
Summer was beginning to hate her job and definitely did not like Ethan at first site, he was a spoiled male whore.
Sparks fly between the two and pretending is the name of the game.
I received an Advanced Reader’s Copy of this book and my review is honest and truly my own.
Ethan is a successful photographer but he also has the reputation of a rich spoilt playboy. Honestly I didn’t know whether to laugh at some of his antics or scream at him in frustration. As the story progresses we see the real Ethan in all his beautiful glory. He’s protective, loyal, loving with such a sweet but sinful sexy side. I adored Summer I could identify so much with her, it was like the author was in my head at times.
This was an enjoyable read that delivered on the angst and the chemistry.

Hard As Stone by K.M. Scott is book 8 in the Heart of Stone Series. This is the story of Summer Carmichael and Ethan Stone. For me this was a standalone book. Ethan is a photographer who comes from loving well off parents who want the best for him. But he is enjoying is free lifestyle of different women and fast pleasure. But to get the pressure off him about his wild lifestyle he goes forward to have a pretend girlfriend that he knows his parents will love. This is where Summer enters into his plans…she is the ultimate sweet next door type women his family would love. But the more he gets to know her the more he is finding that he is growing to love her. So enjoyed their story that I wish to read the other books in this series. Loved it!
Another book in the Heart of Stone series, oh my YES!! Tristan and Nina Stone’s triplets are all grown up now and have their own stories to tell. The first story belongs to Ethan Stone, fitting since he was the only male in the gang. Ethan is the spiting image of his father but has the heart of his mother, he is a rich playboy that doesn’t belong in an office and three piece suit, instead he loves photography and the freedom it allows him traveling. In the beginning of this book, I saw Ethan as spoiled, rich and arrogant, but as I kept turning the pages I found out that there was a lot more to Ethan than that, a lot of layers to be peeled back.
The heroine in this book is Summer Carmichael, and she is a sweet, honest, hardworking independent woman who finds it very hard to believe that someone like Ethan would be interested in plain ole Summer. The wholesome girl next door soon finds out he is interested, but he can’t or won’t be honest with her when she needs him to be.
This is a fantastic addition to the Heart of Stone series, but it can be read as a standalone. It was great to get another glimpse of my favorite couple and even greater to get to know their children. I cannot wait for more in this series. I am betting that Tressa will be giving some man a hard time and Diana’s story will be a tear jerker.
I could go on and on but I will stop now. Just do yourself a favor, if you love romance read this book, better yet read the entire series!!
Five “truthful” stars for this one, only because it would not let me give more!!!
This book is part of a series, but it can be read as standalone..
..Ethan seems like the typical rich playboy photographer, but he has secret..
Then he meets Summer, she is the typical girl next door,
..hoping she would be the answer he was looking for
Ethan charms Summer to help with his plan,
..but life doesn’t goes the way you plan. ~wtmo

HEA????? Well I can’t give everything away now can I?
Hard As Stone was a story that can hold its own. Yes it is part of the Heart of Stone series. And Yes… We love Tristan and Nina… But we now have Ethan and Summer. They are the ultimate couple. I felt that this is the perfect opportunity to bring The Stones in a whole new light. Ethan gave me the butterflies and just made my heart melt into a puddle of goo.
Summer… I have a girl crush on her. I related to this character with the self worth part. I could never be compared to models, but WOW when you meet your other half…it becomes cloud nine. Ethan becomes her more.. until the secrets started to spill over.
K.M. Scott will bring it with the steam factor. The behind closed doors moments were describable! I needed more once their story ended. What do I mean about that? Tressa was a character that intrigued me. I want to know what makes that woman tick.. The Stone siblings are what we need in this new world we are being introduced to!
I enjoyed this book. There were a few slow spots but overall very good. Ethan’s parents want him to find a nice girl and settle down. That is sooooo not in his plans, so he decides to get someone to pretend to be his girlfriend. Can you imagine this going wrong? Yup, me too. Summer is an assistant to a magazine editor and in charge of wrangling models on a photo shoot. Meet the “nice girl”. What began as a negotiated plan becomes something more and hearts are in danger. Ethan has stuff in his past that makes him believe he doesn’t deserve to be happy. Well lets just see about that. There is a HEA but it is a very rocky journey. One that almost doesn’t happen.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.
Where to start? Another great book from an amazing author. If you like Heart of Stone series you will love Hard as Stone. Book is a page-turner, once you start you can’t put it down. You can see each person, every emotion played in front of your eyes, like watching the movie.
Ethan Stone is a rich playboy with a heart. He is very close with his sister Diana and a bit less with Tressa. But they support each other. Stone kids are very like there parents, loyal, smart, goodlooking.
Summer is a nice girl, just what Ethans parents want for him. I liked that she isn’t a model size girl, but the girl normal people can relate to, girl nextdoor. Ethan likes her because of that and he loves her because she is the first girl he can talk to.
But like in every love story, there are problems. Between Ethan and Summer is a matter of trust. They have there ups and downs but in the end love wins.
Tristan and Nina are great parents to ther kids and I like it how they have become even better people than they were.
A must read! If you don’t like reading all the same storys over and over again a Hard as Stone book is for you. Can’t wait for the next two books.
Hard As Stone is the first book about Tristan and Nina’s triplets in the Heart of Stone series. Ethan and Summer have instant attraction but secrets tear them apart. I love Ethan’s story, he’s playboy but he doesn’t ride the coats tails of the Stone name. We also get glimpses of my favorite couple, Tristan and Nina. Must Read!
A new book in the Heart of Stone series……. yes please! What better way to start this off than giving us Ethan and Summer’s story in Hard as Stone. Ethan is every bit his father’s son……sexy, gorgeous and a manwhore living the life. Summer is the sweet, smart, beautiful woman who catches the eye of Ethan Stone but not for the reasons she thinks. Ethan and Summer’s story will seduce you with the chemistry, possess you with intensity and spellbind you with their relationship. What happens when the one person you confess your love to is keeping secrets from you? Find out by one-clicking this beautiful love story about finding the person who makes you happy.
I was lucky enough to get an ARC of Hard as Stone. It’s the story of Ethan, Nina and Tristan’s son from the Heart of Stone series. He is sexy and cocky like his father and you will fall in love with him. Once you start reading you won’t want to stop until you’re done. It was great to read about the Stones again. Km Scott never disappoints. This book is well written and was a pleasure to read. Can’t wait for his sisters’ stories.
Got bored with this story. Predictable.
It giving a leason
Loved it
ugh
This is amazing book. I’ve read most of this series and I so love how it works together. This is the next generation part of the series this is the eathan all grown up. This is the badboy dreams that will have you loving this book.
Mad, mad love for this!! I am so glad that K.M. Scott is writing the next generation of the Stone family!!! This was Ethan’s story, and I loved it!!
* More of a review to come….
Alright, it’s been a few months, and I have to tell you, I love this book now just as much as I did the day I finished it. If not more, because of course it was about a Stone and my heart has always belonged to the Stone family! Tristian and Nina stole it and now their kiddos are stealing it as well.
Hard as Stone is Tristian and Nina’s son’s, Ethan (who happens to be one of the triplets), story.
“I was a healthy, read-blooded American male. A little too much partying. At least too much for my parents’ tastes. Nothing wrong with a man having a good time while he could, right?”
~ K.M. Scott, Hard As Stone
Well, well… let the book begin… Ethan, the party boy & self proclaimed man-whore, was bound and determined to have a good time until he meets Summer Carmichael, his complete opposite!
So, Ethan comes up with a plan to pretend to have an engagement with Summer and show her off to her family and oppss…. wouldn’t you know it, he falls in love with her. He is unwilling and unable to let her go. Let the fun start!!
“My body surrendered to him even before my mind did, taking all he had as he pumped into me. I heard him say my name, but from the moment he began f*cking me, I was lost to the ecstasy of the experience.”
~ K.M. Scott, Hard As Stone
I loved the push and pull between these two characters. I love how we still got to see Tristan & Nina!! I also loved Tressa & Dianna in this book. I know that Set In Stone will be the next book to release and it will be Tressa’s story. I was kind of sad because I so want Dianna’s HEA. We got such a tease in Hard As Stone.
“You know, you’re not just a pretty face, Ethan Stone. Good looking and brilliant. It’s a good combo.”
~ K.M. Scott, Hard As Stone
You all… if you are a fan of the Heart of Stone series, then you need this book in your life! You will thank me! If you haven’t read a single book in the Heart of Stone series, you need to!!! It has to be one of my favorite series EVER!!!

4.5/5
Wow, the next generation is here!!!! And I am just excited to read, especially when it started with the only boy among the siblings, ETHAN.
Ethan is trouble. He’s Tristan Stone’s son – so he’s not only gorgeous, but trouble as well. He has loads of women at his beck and call, especially as a photographer. But at 25, his family wants to see him settled down with a nice girl. He just needs his family to get off his back and convince them that he’s finally given up his wild ways, and still living the life.
When he met Summer Carmichael in one of his photoshoots, he finally found the perfect girl to bring home to his family. Just to show them that he finally found someone, and stop them from meddling with his life. What he didn’t expect is to enjoy her company, and wishing for more time with her.
Ethan has his baggage and secrets he couldn’t share. It wasn’t his secret to share, and he promised someone. That’s the beginning of the problem. Especially when he refused to tell Summer about it that caused their breakup. Ethan is a great brother, and would do everything for his sisters, especially with Diana. He and Tressa’s relationship wasn’t that great compare to the former.
Then all hell broke loose – They broke up, she lost her job, he lost his job, and he went back to work to his family’s company which he hates. When Tressa recruited Summer to be her assistant along with the assignment to get Tristan out of the company and back to his photography and make him fall inlove with her, she was desperate enough to accept the job except for the falling in love part.
Summer has her own sets of dramas that sometimes were over the top, but overall, she’s the nice girl that every parents want to met, every man’s fantasy in the bedroom. Her life wasn’t easy, but she works hard for everything that she had. She just asked honesty from Ethan, and that was fair enough. So when Ethan decided not to answer simple questions, I don’t blame her to quit things off.
This story was worth the read. I love that K.M. Scott decided to do the next generation of Stones. Hard As Stone is hot, romantic and you get to meet Tristan and Nina Stone once again! Ethan’s story was a great way to start, and it would pique your interest about the two girls and would really want to make you read the next two books in the series!
This was my first read of K.M. Scott, but I can assure you it will not be my last. As a matter of fact. I am now ready to go and binge read the previous Stone books.
I found this book to have all the makings of a great story. There is humor, sex and angst. A man searching to find his way and a woman willing to take that journey with him. I found myself totally engrossed and loving every word of Ethan and Summer’s story.
He’s a playboy, she’s a nice girl, He isn’t falling in love, she is all love. He needs a fake girlfriend. She needs validation. Read this and feel the growth. Great book and a must read!
