Nestled in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains, the beautiful town of Paradise is the perfect place to raise a family, have dinner at the local diner…and chase a ruthless killer.
Jacob Stone is an undercover DEA Agent dead-set on getting vengeance for his sister’s death. When his sources tell him that the drug dealer he’s been searching for will soon be setting up a distribution center in the … center in the seemingly innocent town of Paradise, he moves in for the kill.
What Jake wasn’t counting on, however, was falling in love with gorgeous Harmony McKinnon – the ex-wife of the man he was determined to eliminate.
Harmony McKinnon never believed she’d find love again….not after the horrors she lived through with her ex-husband. When she meets secretive Jacob Stone and soon falls in love, she never expected that her life would be in danger again…or that the man she’d come to trust would betray her.
Can Jake make Harmony understand his motives? Can Harmony trust him in spite of the past? Will they have their happily ever after?
Not everything is as it seems in the sleepy, little town of Paradise, Tennessee!
Hard as Stone is the second book in the Passion in Paradise: The Men of the McKinnon Sisters Series, but is a stand-alone novel (165,000 words) that can be easily read without reading the first book. Contains explicit EROTICA sections; for mature audiences only.

The second Jacob Stone met Harmony McKinnon, he knew she was his one. Jacob had to tread delicately with Harmony for a few reasons, the biggest the reason he is there. Jacob is an undercover DEA agent and Harmony’s ex has ties to the man who led to his sisters death. He has been hunting his trail for years and wont stop until he has his revenge.
Harmony has not dated since she divorced his sadistic ex, everything about Jacob screams bad boy but Harmony finds she is also learning to trust him. Jacob has made his intent clear, although Harmony is not to sure about it, he wants a future with Harmony and her little girl Heaven. In order to start their future, Harmony’s ex need to be handled and Jacob needs to share the truth about who he really is.
This was a delightful treasure. You have four McKinnon sisters, all vastly different and all head strong. They swarm together protecting one another and reference Steel Magnolias. I thought the parallel was perfect, one moment you are smiling, then crying and then laughing so hard you have to put the book down briefly because you can’t catch a break. Best book I have read this month.
Mmmm, mmmmm, mmmm, love me some Jake. You all can have the rest of the McKinnon girls men, but Jake is mine. He is one of my favorite characters in this group. You know how some people can just do no wrong…no matter what they do, that’s my Jake. This man had me when he first got there, his honesty is refreshing, he never holds back what he thinks and never apologizes either. Yeah, he does keep why he’s there from Harmony, but he was trying to protect her and make sure the family was not involved, works for me.
Harmony is a single mother, trying to raise her daughter the best she can and trying to forget the mistake she made that was her ex-husband….yeah, p.o.s. all the way that one. Jake comes in and already knows he wants to keep her. She is very guarded, as she should be, and really makes him work for it. He’s there to catch some bad guys and knows that her family is the key. Throughout this book we get to see what a wonderful person my Jake is, he treats Harmony’s daughter Heaven like his own and treats them both like the treasures they are.
Great storyline and great supporting characters. Her sisters and aunt Orla are about the funniest people…Patience is my soul sister…flove that girls character. We get to find out a little more of the story about the night Honor was taken. And a little bit more of that gets resolved. This was a safe read, hot af. Pretty sure my Jake is king of the dirty talk. Not really any om or ow drama per say, a town slut tries to make the move on Jake, which he very bluntly shuts down (see, mine) and her ex-husband shows up, but he was just causing the story drama/suspense. As with the other books in the series, it was highly emotional at times and pulled out all the feels. A great epilogue eleven years into the future and hea.
This was definitely my favorite book of the series, ok, ok, Jake is my favorite of the series, freaking adore that guy on so many levels. This series is pretty much book crack for me, I always want more.
