OMG Just when I thought Ivy Nelson couldn’t outdo herself, I read Hard. I loved, loved it. David is a Dom with a dream, a problem and a sub (Emily) who loves him fully. Their commitment is tested when David becomes ill. He doesn’t want Emily to waste her life taking care of him. However, he severely underestimated the devotion of his sometimes shy, sometimes meek and sometimes defiant sub.
Their story will touch your heart and endear you to this couple. David is a great Dom who understands his sub and Emily is a loveable lady who we all can identify with. You will miss a fantastic book and the beginning of a new series if you skip this book. Each is a complete story- no cliffhangers- hallelujah. Thank you Ivy for yet another great group of people to get to know. Can’t wait for the next book in the series.
They say that money can buy anything, but that’s just not true. How do you know when its a great story? When it makes you so mad you want to throw your kindle, but at the same time you reach for kleenex. This is a very erotic love story with amazing chemistry between the characters. I could not put it down.
David owns Eastman Enterprises. He was on top of the world. Now, he has to deal with his failing health, something that money can’t buy.
Emily has spent her entire adult life caring for others. After her brother passed away, she felt like she was free to enjoy herself. Now the man she fell in love with needs her more than ever.
What a great opening story of a new series! I liked the concept of the Club Solitaire and I am anxiously awaiting for the rest of them. This book has a lot of those feels that I always am in search of. This story of David and his submissive Emily had those feels in Spades! Loved it!
I reviewed a complementary copy of this book .
Goodness!! Where do I start??!! Ivy Nelson certainly has a dirty mind and the credits said this was a sneak peak?? Geez. What’s in store for the next one??!! Emily and David both dealt with difficulties growing up. She lost her parents at 18 and cared for her terminally ill brother for TEN years!! Seriously, I don’t know if I could last 10 weeks or days. David grew up in foster care so the people around him are not only friends, but also family. Tough times hit this power couple again with his cancer diagnosis. I’m rooting for him to beat it, but who knows what’s in the mind of Ivy Nelson!! I’ve definitely added her to my list of favorite authors!! Tuning into the next book in this series…
I received a free review copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Loved the book it was great, the story was well written and the characters are interesting. The book was hot and steamy with emotions that makes you want more. David is sick and Emily is so in love with him.

The storyline was well written and the characters were so well developed that as each and every page was turned I felt like Emily and David jumped from the pages and pulled me right into their story as it unfolded!
Absolutely fantastic! A well written emotionally deep romance. The storyline is flawless, funny, witty, enjoyable, and very interesting. The story flows smoothly and moves along at a brisk pace with a few ups and downs and a mix of emotions on every page. The chemistry between them is intense and their love scenes are beautifully written and HOT!
Hard is a book that took me on a roller coaster ride concerning my feelings. There were several scenes where I teared up. The devotion and love between David and Emily was palpable. They are a couple with such a great energy that drew me right into the story. I feel Hard is a successful start to a new series.
After her Power series, Hard was the first of the Diamond Doms and I was hooked.
The ying yang of their budding romance and a dominants hard head made for terrific reading.
Once I started on that first page nothing interrupted me until I was finished no matter the time.
Needless to say I loved it and you will too. Be prepared towait impatiiently for the next one.

5 out of 5 stars
I love Ivy Nelson’s books. Her stories have substance. This one has plenty of angst, sex, and BDSM. I need to read this one before her next book which is Coming Home. This book leaves you with a big question which is answered in the next book of Coming Home. Loved it!!
I received an ARC copy of this book and was obsessed with the story from the opening lines. The Doms and their relationships with one and other is a great foundation for the dynamics created with the submissive characters in this book. The angst created with the development of Solitaire in a unenlightened community along with the personal issues that David and Emily are confronted with in their dynamic makes this an engrossing emotional read that is worth the time and intensity. Ivy Nelson is scores a hit with this series if this book is any indication of what’s next.
A very well written start for this series. I loved Emily and David together and can not wait to read the rest of the series.
I am voluntarily writing this review for this book I received through arc.
Patrick, Elijah and David were talking about a new role out of their diamonds. David asked anyone was going to the party the next night and Elijah and Patrick were going stag. David had a big announcement that he was going to release at the party. David was worried about Emily and his big announcement. She just buried her brother she looked after. This was her first time in Las Vegas and she decided to have a drink while talking to a fellow Submissive Dakota. David tells his big secret and he told Emily he couldn’t collar her which broke her heart. David and friends wanted to open up a resort in Colorado for people in the lifestyle.
Emily was having a hard time with David he was pushing her away the best he could. Emily was not going anywhere and she told him that she will be there with him. Emily really wanting David to collar her but she knew how he felt. I liked this book but not the way it ended in a cliffhanger
I liked the premise of the story which is why I chose to read this book. I liked most of the story but I couldn’t quite connect with the characters. I wasn’t engaged by some of the scenes between them. I didn’t really connect to them as much as I had hoped. The writing was good but the emotional connection was missing for me.
I felt that the author had the ability to convey some depth to the personalities of the characters bringing life and likability to every person.
The writing draws you in and keeps you interested until the end.
I was very impressed with how simply and effortlessly this author told this addicting, multi-layered story with well-developed world building and great characters.
I received a free copy of this book. This review was posted voluntarily.
When billionaire David calls his close friends together he tells them he finished the Orange diamond. He also says he wants to build a resort for a BDSM private club he’s already bought the property in Colorado. He says he has something important to discuss with them on the night of the party so everyone can be there. He was supposed to collar Emily an make her his sub but now with what;s happening he doesn;t think it;s fair to her. What happens when he tells everyone his secret? What happens when he tells Emily he can;t collar her now?The twists and turns to this story will keep you riveted until the very last page.I love the way this amazing author brings the characters to life before your eyes and you can feel their emotions and their pain.I can hardly wait to see whats next by this multi talented author.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
The author keeps the emotions and reactions very down to earth in this book and that makes then vivid and raw. It’s an amazing plot that pulls at the heart strings, it took me about 90 minutes to read this cover to cover, I was absorbed in the story as soon as I started reading it.

This is the first time I’ve read this author but not the last. Well written, interesting story line. Lots of emotion that the reader can identify with I would think. The loss of a loved one, wanting to care for another loved one & the frustration of being too protected, sometimes, from being allowed to do that. The periphery characters were good too which added to the story.
This is the first book I have read by Ivy Nelson and all I can say is WOW! The characters are relatable, interesting, and well-developed. The plot is different from other novels and truly tests the relationship between David and Emily. The story has drama, passion, romance, and steamy chemistry. I strongly recommend this addictive read!
