Best-selling author Maddy Fitch, while researching material for a new novel, returns to her hometown of Harbour Falls to investigate an unsolved disappearance that has haunted the tiny Maine coastal town for the past four years. Although the case has gone cold, Maddy soon discovers that the prime suspect, Adam Ward, is hotter than ever.
The sexy, secretive Mr. Ward now makes his home on an … on an isolated island near the coast, so Maddy takes up residence nearby to find out why this enigmatic man lives in such a secluded place. Is it because the missing person at the heart of the case, a young woman, was engaged to Adam at the time of her disappearance? Did the prime suspect perhaps move to escape the town’s scrutiny, or is he hiding something much more sinister?
As Maddy plunges into the case, she and Adam are drawn together. Should she fight her growing attraction to a possibly dangerous man? The mystery deepens, and the list of suspects, people who all had reasons for wanting to see the missing young woman gone, grows. Maddy hopes that by solving the mystery Adam will be proven innocent of any involvement, and they can then move forward with their relationship. But as she uncovers clues that begin to lead suspicion away from Adam, new secrets emerge that leave her questioning everything. Maddy continues to close in on the truth, threatening to blow the lid off the whole mystery. But what she doesn’t realize is that she’s actually caught up in someone’s very dangerous game.
Lies, secrets, deceptions. In Harbour Falls, nothing is ever what it seems. This steamy novel immerses the reader in an intricate storyline that will keep them glued till the very last page.

I read this book a couple of years ago and couldn’t put it down. The writing is engaging and the characters are well developed. Ms Grey keeps the mystery going throughout the story, revealing details in such a way that keeps the plot twisting and turning. You’ll know what you need to know only when she wants you to know.
This is the first book …
Terrible book, I could not wait to get to the end……oh, it does not end, it goes on to the next book to solve the mystery. I see there are other books so apparently it goes on and on and……..
This is a classical “whodunit” that keep me guessing through-out the book. Maddy, a mystery writer, returns to hometown to investigate an unsolved real mystery that involves her high-school crush, Adam. It was Adam’s fiance that disappeared without a trace on the night of their rehearsal dinner many years ago. Maddy quickly finds herself in …
Really enjoyed this book!!!
I was actually surprised that I really loved this book. The plot, as explained, could have been just another romantic mystery. But, There were plenty of plot twists and potential suspects to keep me guessing until near hte end, and even then I didn’t have the entire picture! Recommended.
Too long, too repetitive, characters are not all that likable, and you find at the end that the story really doesn’t end in this book but rolls over to the next one — one that I will not be reading.
While the underlying storyline was fair, this was far too bodice-ripping to be considered a true mystery ot cozy mystery. Less time on the hunky body and more time on character development and dialogue. I gobble up books set in New England and will often read some really lousy ones simply for the locale but will not be following this one with the …
I enjoyed reading it. Interesting plot twists and surprise ending.
Great Romantic Suspense – This story is well written and the storyline is fast paced, suspenseful and intriguing. The descriptions of the Island and the houses are beautiful and we can easily imagine the scenes. There are several characters in this story. Adam is a rich man, strong and very protective with Maddy. Maddy is very strong, sometimes …
