My movie star crush is coming to stay at my house. And he’s my sister’s new boyfriend. My sister Juliet has always gotten everything she wants. It’s mostly fine though. I never wanted the spotlight. That was for Juliet. And now that she’s America’s most popular starlet? She can have it.But when Gran—the feisty woman who raised us, and who I cannot seem to wean off video games, an afternoon … us, and who I cannot seem to wean off video games, an afternoon doobie, or her daily Manhattan—has a huge party to celebrate her 90th birthday, Juliet brings the spotlight right to our front door. Literally.
In the form of my ultimate movie-star crush, Ryan McDonnell. I can barely form a sentence around the guy (at least I don’t still have a poster of him on my wall). And I definitely can’t get over the fact that he’s Juliet’s new boyfriend. Because of course he is. She’s Juliet Manchester. And I’m … well, I’m the boring sister.
I just need to get through the weekend with them—and with the magazine people who are covering them and the party for a feature. I just need to stay away from Ryan and his warm curious eyes, his perfectly chiseled arms, and the impossibly sexy things that come out of his mouth when we’re alone together.
It’s only one weekend, and I just need to remember that Ryan is an actor.
But he’s a good one. Because I almost believe him when he tells me we have a chance together.

I recieved this book for Free to Give My True & Honest Review, but as I hadn’t gotten round to getting it read in time, I brought the excellent Audio with 2 well worthy Narrators, Noah Michael Levine & Robyn Verne.
This is my first book since the fantastic Mr. Match Series, by Delancey Stewart that I’ve read & what a VERY rapid Insta-Love.
Here we see 2 actors Juliet Manchester & Ryan McDonnell who’d signed contracts to Pretend that they were a new couple to sell their story when they go away to Maryland, a small town on the East Coast & he’s only lived on the West Coast.
But its when they arrive at Her Gran’s beautiful old large plantation home & Ryan sees her Younger Sister Tess from the car & his heart beat, beats up.
So we see how Tess & Ryan becomes close within those first couple of hours & he can’t go through the whole weekend acting in this ‘fake’ relationship in front of Tess.
Even though there’s a little tension in Juliet’s private life which we hear a little about, it’s the humorous aspects especially between one of her bodyguard’s, Jack & Chessy Gran’s House Chicken who takes a shine on him from the off start
Though do come & see what happens between the 3 of them & IF things work out with any of Them & if it will come up happy & smiling for anyone of them…..
This book was billed as book one of a duet, which is not entirely accurate. This story can stand alone. Book 2 follows another couple in a concurrent timeline and their story can also stand alone. That said, the books are better, and the reader will be more appreciative if they read back-to-back. One of the reasons I resisted reading this was because I typically do not like duets and prefer the stories I read to be contained within one book with no cliffhanger. When Lucy Score recommended this as one of the best books of the year, I decided I would give it a shot.
I loved Ryan and Tess and that he fell for her at first sight. Who hasn’t imagined finding real love with their movie star crush? Tess is already half in love with Ryan when he appears at her house with her sister. Their weekend and all the entanglements and lies make the beginning of their relationship extremely complicated. The heart of this book is so strong though. The feelings expressed by each of the characters feel real and true. Ryan has to figure out what he really wants and what he is willing to give up to get it. Tess must sort out her complicated feelings with her sister, as well as her feelings for Ryan and decide how much of a risk she is willing to take.
When you add in Tess’s pot smoking, gaming, 90-year-old Gran, bodyguards, and a house chicken, there are lots of both funny and sweet moments that grab the reader and make this an entertaining, excellent book. This book has quality writing like the early books in the Mr. Matched series and I really enjoyed it.
Loved this!!
Tess has had a crush on celebrity/actor, Ryan McDonnell for as long as she can remember. Imagine her surprise when he comes to her home in Maryland with her sister, as her boyfriend.
Having no clue it’s a fake relationship, she needs to steer clear of him, because of their chemistry…it is off the charts. Sexual tension is high. There are a sparks everywhere. Their connection is strong and adorably sweet and a bit dangerous and probably a little wrong. Okay, a lot wrong. I enjoyed watching them try to stay away from each other, fighting that pull.
I’m very happy to have discovered this author recently. This is my second book by her and I look forward to more. I really like her writing style! She makes it so easy to fall in love with her characters and makes it very hard to put the book down.
This story has everything I love…lots of humor, plenty of heart, sass, and delicious steam.
From chickens with human crushes, to 90-year old video game playin’, Manhattan drinkin’ Grandmas, it was a very entertaining read.
I look forward to reading Happily Ever Hers, Juliet’s story!
I happen to love movie star stories, but even if I didn’t, this would be a home run for me, because OMG IT’S SO FUNNY! When you’ve lol’d at the first paragraph of the prologue you know you’re onto something great. The story starts with a very fake Hollywood relationship between the hero and the heroine’s sister, but moves quickly into love at first sight between the hot movie star and the hometown girl. Stewart takes a tried and true trope and adds her own special magic to create a story that will brighten your day and make you wish you could find your own movie star to take home to Maryland.
I love reading this book. I could not stop laughing with the pot smoking gaming grandma to the attacking lovesick pet chicken “Chessy”.I was in tears with laughter at the witty remarks throughout the book. It is a cute funny wistful small town love story that you should definitely give a read!

Ryan is an actor whose career needs help. He arranges to fake date Juliet, another actress, whose career also needs a push. When Juliet takes Ryan home with her, Ryan meets her sister Tess. Tess has always been in her sister’s shadow, which didn’t bother her until now. Tess has such a crush on Ryan and she can barely form a sentence around him. And seeing Juliet with Ryan just gets to her. But as they get to know each other, their attraction builds. But circumstances are difficult and it doesn’t seem likely they have a chance. Or do they? Loved their interaction and my heart just broke for Tess in the beginning. Her wanting her sister’s beau and trying to fight it. Different take on the fake dating story which I much appreciated.

3.5 stars.
A sweet read, involving love at first sight and a lovestruck chicken. Some humorous moments and a lot of sweet, quirky family drama.
Delancey has a way of writing that can lift you when you’re feeling down. Her characters are loveable, likeable and believable. You get drawn in as if you’re part of the stories that she writes, part of the worlds that she creates.
I can’t wait for the next book of this duet
I knew I was going to love this the minute I started reading it! Movie star Juliet needs a fake boyfriend who better to act the part than former co-star Ryan. Juliet is heading home for her Gran’s 90th birthday party (Gran is hysterical) and takes Ryan with her. Tess, Juliet’s sister is also there, Tess is a huge fan of movie star Ryan. When Ryan and Tess first meet its pretty much love at first sight for both! Can’t wait for Juliet’s story! I was lucky enough to get my hands on an early copy of this and this is my honest review.
I can’t explain how much I love Delancey’s humor and wit. This story is a fantastic twist on the usual fake relationship trope and is woven with so many ridiculous and fun easter eggs!
This story is everything I wanted and I can’t wait for book 2 of this duet.
I like Ryan and Tess. They are both good characters. The setting is fun and meaningful. Gran is a perfect relative to read about I love her. The storyline is fun and there are a few tears to fall but mostly I just feel good. There is chemistry. I like the fact that Tess has his poster on her wall and that she has such a crush for so long. Strong writing. Good timing.

Happily Ever His is the first book by Delancey Stewart that I have read, and I enjoyed it very much. I loved following Ryan and Tess’s story. With a very feisty video game playing Gran and very friendly chicken made for a very entertaining read. I look forward to reading Juliet’s story.
In order to boost their acting careers Juliet and Ryan enter into a fake relationship, totally platonic for Ryan. When Juliet brings her new boyfriend home and introduces him around things get awkward . Her little sister Tess has always been in the shadows of her famous sister and didn’t mind until Ryan. Filthy talk and instant attraction Ryan is in a pickle. His career or his heart what does he follow . This isn’t a story of fake relationship turned to real love oh no its more complicated than that.
This was a fun read. I’m totally in love with Chessy! Can’t wait for Juliet’s book.
I just LOVE gran! Who wouldn’t love a 90 year old WoW playing, pot smoking, Manhattan drinking gramma?! She’s probably my favorite part about this whole story. Don’t get me wrong I like all the other characters, especially Chessy! I just had a harder time loving them. Juliet seemed so self absorbed to me (I’m hoping she’ll redeem herself in her book). I mean, she invaded her gramma’s 90th birthday party by bringing a fake boyfriend and having a magazine there to do an article on HER so she could save herself in the craziness her ex was trying to do to her. Ryan was nice but he was contractually obligated to “love” Juliet all while falling in love with her sister, Tess, and simultaneously breaking Tess’s heart. Tess was sweet, caring, and so locked in her own head she was having a hard time seeing her own self worth when her sister was around. All these characters were a mess but it made for a good story. I enjoyed their world and like that love and happiness was found (especially for Chessy! That chicken was awesome!)
Happily Ever His is an entertaining, and briskly-paced book with well-defined characters and a romance I won’t forget soon. I’m excited to see what else this author has in store for us with Happily Ever Hers!! Happy reading!!
This book really surprised me because normally I am not into the love at first sight or instalove trope. I flew through the book and fell in love with the characters, the environment and history of Maryland.
Ryan McDonnell is a movie star who is down on his luck and doesn’t really want to stay in the line of work but needs money to help his father. He signs a contract with Juliet Manchester ( Hollywood’s sweetheart) to be her fake boyfriend for a weekend. They are going to Maryland to celebrate her grandmothers 90 birthday and a magazine and movie crew are going to follow them around all 3 days. When they arrive at the house Ryan sees Juliet’s sister Tess and falls for her right away. He does all he can to be close to her and get to know her and even though she resists and they both don’t understand what is going on, they can’t stay away from each other.
This is a true romcom with movie stars, security guards, a really sweet normal heroine, a badass game playing pot smoking grandmother, a lovesick guardchicken and a lot of twists and turns.
I can definitely recommend this book.

Whoa. Drama. Media. Movie Stars. Bodyguards. Guard Chicken. Inappropriate old lady. All that together makes for an extremely entertaining read.
I loved all the characters, but Chessy was by far my favorite.
I would highly recommend this book and cant wait for the nect book.
Happy reading!

“And that,” she said. “Is my little sister. Tess.” Tess. Everything I didn’t feel when I looked at Juliet jumped to attention when I spotted her.
Ryan needs a boost to his acting career. Which is why he jumped at the chance to display a “fake” relationship with Juliet. Juliet was America’s sweetheart, but has hit a rough patch in her personal life. What Ryan didn’t count on is falling head over heels, love at first sight, with Juliet’s sister, Tess. But this is exactly what was happening. And he couldn’t tell anyone the truth.
Tess has always lived in Juliet’s shadow. Which hasn’t bothered her – much. But when she brings the object of her Hollywood fantasy home with her – and was dating him, THAT bothered her!
Within a short time the chemistry between Tess and Ryan is difficult to deny. They have big obstacles, as in he lives in California, Tess lives in Maryland. And Ryan is SUPPOSED to be dating Juliet. How can this possibly work?
This is a great story. Because I live in Maryland, I enjoyed the local references! I can’t wait to read Juliet’s story.
This book is fantastic.
I admit that at first I was wary, yet I have read enough of Delancey Stewart’s books to trust that this isn’t a cheating book, which is a dealbreaker for me. Ryan and Juliet are in a fake relationship for the press. However, no one else knows that. Juliet doesn’t even want to tell her sister and Gran.
By the way – this book is a must read even if you hate romance novels, because Gran is probably the best character I have ever read. She dominates in World of Warcraft, drinks, smokes weed, curses like a sailor, and yet is one of the wisest and most insightful people. And she is 90. She is simply amazing.
Tess and Ryan had great chemistry, and I can’t wait to read Juliet’s book to experience more of this family.
