Welcome to Hanover House…
Psychiatrist Evelyn Talbot has dedicated her life to solving the mysteries of the antisocial mind. Why do psychopaths act as they do? How do they come to be? Why don’t they feel any remorse for the suffering they cause? And are there better ways of spotting and stopping them?
After having been kidnapped, tortured and left for dead when she was just a teenager—by her … just a teenager—by her high school boyfriend—she’s determined to understand how someone she trusted so much could turn on her. So she’s established a revolutionary new medical health center in the remote town of Hilltop, Alaska, where she studies the worst of the worst.
But not everyone in Hilltop is excited to have Hanover House and its many serial killers in the area. Alaskan State Trooper, Sergeant Amarok, is one of them. And yet he can’t help feeling bad about what Evelyn has been through. He’s even attracted to her. Which is partly why he worries.
He knows what could happen if only one little thing goes wrong…

LOVED this book. The premise and characters are what kept me coming back to this series.
paints a great picture of life in the cold of Alaska and fighting for a new life doing what she thought she always wanted only to find out how scary life can be.
I love a good suspenseful novel and Brenda really delivers in this prequel to her Evelyn Talbot series. Set in Alaska, it features various depraved serial killers, a hot Sheriff, and a brilliant but troubled psychiatrist. Also some very adorable dogs. What more can you ask for in a thriller?

Brenda’s Novak’s “Hanover House” is an utterly and deeply disturbing suspense novella.
Dr. Talbot, the protagonist, plans to study serial killers. To do so, she proposes to establish a central facility where the worst of the nation’s convicted psychopaths would be incarcerated. The proposal is accepted, and Dr. Talbot travels to Alaska to oversee construction.
Novak does a superb job of putting the reader into the mind of a psychopath, as well as the mind of a psychiatrist. The writing is tight, the plot is fast-paced, and the tension is relentless.
I recommend “Hanover House” to readers of serial killer novels and of psychological dramas.
Intense!!! The tension was thick and well-sustained.
Better breathe deep and fill your lungs now because this
stunning emotionally packed read will leave you breathless!!
You will meet the perfect serial killer who expresses such raw
intensity that you will feel his rage plus his devious mind seeping
through the pages.
Up against this monster is a forensic psychiatrist, Dr. Evelyn
Talbot. Evelyn is the only victim of this killer who managed to
escape after being kidnapped, tortured and left to die. Then the
serial killer disappeared but Evelyn knows he is still out there.
She has used her horrific experiences as a professional
psychiatric tool to study mad men.
Hanover House is being built in Alaska as a research facility to
study psychopaths to see how they think. Now she will bring
harden criminals into this isolated area with only a single
Alaskan State Trooper, Sergeant Amarok.
The author weaves together intrigue, chills and thrills from the past
into the present. A great read!!
Thank you to the author for this eBook. My opinion is my own.
I loved this book. I did not realize Ms Novak wrote suspense. Evelyn was kidnapped twenty years ago and left for dead by her psycho ex boyfriend. Evelyn has now dedicated her life in finding out what makes serial killers tick and along the way learning to not be fearful of all men as she gets to know sheriff Amorak and having to face off with captor once again.Loved the book and the process of the relationship with her and the sheriff
I really liked the psychological cat and mouse game of this series, 3 in all (I think) I could not put it down and could not wait to read the next
Hanover House (The Evelyn Talbot Chronicles, #0.5) was a great read by Brenda Novak. Evelyn Talbot is a psychiatrist who has dedicated her life to solve the mystery of a psychopath’s mind. As a teenager; Evelyn’s high school boyfriend kidnapped, tortured, and left her for dead. She wants to understand how he could do what he did. She has established Hanover House, a new medical health center in Hilltop, Alaska. No one in Hilltop seems to be excited for the influx of serial killers. That includes Sergeant Amarok, an Alaskan State Trooper. Although he doesn’t agree with what she’s doing, he feels bad for what she’s been through. He’s fighting his attraction to her while she does the same. I can’t wait to read the rest of this series.
Now this is my kind of thriller. They mystery of what happens next with a touch of romance. I couldn’t stop once I started.
An amazing kick off to what I’m sure will be my new favorite suspense series.
This was my first Brenda Novak book. I read it in one day. Couldn’t put it down. If you enjoy thrillers you have to read Hanover House. I will be getting the rest of the series.
Anything by Brenda Novak is a sure bet
Good book.

Hanover House was a great read. Love the hero.
I thought the characters were very real and the action and storyline very plausible. I couldn’t wait to see how it ended and it kept me wanting more. Will read the next book to see how it works out.
