Welcome to Hanover House…
Psychiatrist Evelyn Talbot has dedicated her life to solving the mysteries of the antisocial mind. Why do psychopaths act as they do? How do they come to be? Why don’t they feel any remorse for the suffering they cause? And are there better ways of spotting and stopping them?
After having been kidnapped, tortured and left for dead when she was just a teenager—by her … just a teenager—by her high school boyfriend—she’s determined to understand how someone she trusted so much could turn on her. So she’s established a revolutionary new medical health center in the remote town of Hilltop, Alaska, where she studies the worst of the worst.
But not everyone in Hilltop is excited to have Hanover House and its many serial killers in the area. Alaskan State Trooper, Sergeant Amarok, is one of them. And yet he can’t help feeling bad about what Evelyn has been through. He’s even attracted to her. Which is partly why he worries.
He knows what could happen if only one little thing goes wrong…

This was much more of a romantic suspense than I was expecting. I liked the thriller aspect, but thought the romantic portion was thinly developed.
A little slow.
I expected a more fleshed out novel. This is the first of a series and is more of a teaser.
The book was left unfinished. I was very disappointed, and would have liked to have read it to the dnd
This is a good suspenseful book that kept me on the edge of my seat. It had some romance in it.
Chilling and suspenseful. A must read
Interesting story until the end.It left you wondering what happened.
I thought it was a little long at first, but when I came to what can only very loosely be called “the end”, and discovered that I had invested my time in what is a long set-up with no mysteries solved and no character development beyond what one usually finds in the first two chapters of a novel, I was so disappointed that I resolved not to read another book in the series. It’s too bad because the main characters and the premise are intriguing and interesting. But when entire novel is the set-up, that suggests that I am supposed to keep buying more and more books to find my way to a conclusion, and I like my books to be complete stories with a beginning, a middle, and an end. Books in a series need to be able to stand alone, and this one most certainly does not. Should the author finish her series, then find a good editor and pare it down to one cohesive novel, I would be interested in reading that.
I just couldn’t get into this book; it was so boring and I have so many good books to read.
This novella introduces the series which I will not be reading. The idea that a beautiful psychiatrist could get the funding to house some of the worst serial killers in one facility in Alaska is preposterous. And then there is the cheesey romance between local cop and shrink.
I tried, but a whole book focused on psychopathic mind sets was not my way to enjoy a reading experience.
Kept me on the edge my seat. Wanted the next book in the series, highly recommend reading.
I just loved this book. It kept me at the edge of my seat waiting for the next terrifying thing to happen. This is the second book in Hanover House series. It is a scary and frightening novel with romance thrown in, you will definitely love this book. Brenda did a wonderful job of explaining Dr. Evelyn’s background on the reason why she wanted to open a facility that will hold the worst criminals in the world, serial psychopathic killers. Evelyn, a teenager at the time, had been kidnapped and left for dead by the one person she trusted, her boyfriend Jasper. Luckily she got away but not before he tortured her for three days, after he killing her three best friends. Now she is a physiatrist trying to find out why these serial killers do such acts of violence to innocent people. While working at the new prison she helped build in Alaska, she meets the young state trooper Amaork who was against building a prison in his small town. He got over it after meeting Evelyn. Still with a Jasper on the loose Evelyn has a hard time having relationships until Amaork convinces her to give him a chance. Please read this book you will love it too. I’m reading the next book in the series Hello Again.
I loved this book! I can’t wait for the next one!! Please hurry!! I could hardly put this one down.
