He’ll show her the pleasures of the bedroom… cousin’s estate donning breeches and riding astride.
Accused of impropriety by infamous rake, Lord Dunford, she suppresses her wild side to become a picture-perfect English Lady. But when the handsome reprobate offers to teach her the pleasures of the bedroom, spirited Hannah can’t deny the passion he stirs within.
Lord John Dunford grew up in the storm of a loveless marriage. He’s sworn an oath never to marry.
Avoiding the eligible ladies of the Marriage Mart, John has dedicated himself to the pursuit of pleasure. Mistresses are a safe distraction from lonely nights and an achingly hollow heart. Until beautiful, wicked-tongued Hannah upends his life.
Now his body burns only for her, and the stone around his heart cracks with her every smile.
Suddenly, John craves the life he’s always spurned—a wife, a family, a true home.
After a lifetime of defiant debauchery, this lonely Duke must fight to convince the woman he loves he’s worth the risk.

A skirt chaser and a woman who wants to save herself for marriage. A very entertaining story.
I always love a strong female character and Hannah fit that. A young American woman coming to London for a season and finding one particular man who makes her angry, happy, frustrated and desired. He just needs to grow up, see relationships for what they are and not what he thought as a child. Just enough of everything in this book for me.
I share the comments of other reviewers, that this is a romance novel, untrue to Regency conventions. To wit: a lack of chaperones, hanky-panky (with noisy headboard banging screaming sex) in the house of her sponsoring cousin, discovery that she is wearing no underwear (she doesn’t like to wear them) at a ball but needing her bloomers removed for a later romp in said cousin’s house – even the epilogue after ten years of marriage was hokey – she’s fat now, from feeding our “babes” – the unforgettable fit and trim figure is no more?
This story has a lot to be desired, especially our main hero. The man is an abomination to men everywhere. His behavior is irreproachable, and I don’t know how a decent woman would stand him. This brings us to Hannah, our shocking American. As a plantation owner’s daughter she would have had the grace of any southern belle. She had none. A Southern lady can plant, ride and shoot as well as any man, but in the tea room or ballroom; she is the epitome of civility and charm. Her behavior was the epitamy of Annie Oakley’s style of behavior; brash and inappropriate. In fact, the whole story is inappropriate. In fact, Archie should have wrung John’s neck and challenged him to a duel. No, he just accepts that John ruined Hannah. The plot is horrendous and the story is without real planning. Hannah just accepts John second proposal. Why? Because he proposed in front of the Ton. The climax and ending are disappointing. Wish I didn’t waste my time, but I was hoping for something better to come up.
Bad memories lead to a very pleasant future. The duke discovers he can have love, happiness and sensual fulfillment all wrapped up in one. Interesting characters all. Costume and atmosphere very well depicted. A very enjoyable story.
This story was great! Loved the characters, story and couldn’t put it down!
Good
Loved it, loved it, loved it!
Hannah an outspoken American comes to England as an heiress to find a husband. John last member of the spare club is yet to wed and refuses to do so. Upon meeting his brother in law cousin he might be found his match. Good book
Sweet story and well written.
I got this as a free book from Amazon, the dialogue between the characters is so bad and not in keeping with the period. I couldn’t finish the book and had to delete from my library.
This was a lovely read.
Great book. Didn’t stop reading, once I started.
Absolutely wonderful story!
Good read.
She’s feisty and outspoken and so not ton material. What starts out as sparring between our characters turns to friendship and love. Wonderful light read with very likeable characters and story
Good reading
Enjoyable read.
Love Novels taking place in England with the nobility.
