This book was previously published in Amazon Kindle WorldsHaven Caldwell had the world at her feet. Traveling around the globe, hobnobbing with the elite, she did things other people could only dream of, but it was all a cover. As a covert operative of Deimos, a US black-ops agency that has more secrets than the CIA, she knew how to handle herself in any given situation, even if it required … situation, even if it required killing someone. But when her latest mission goes awry, leaving her in a wheelchair, she feels she has nothing left to live for.
Delta Force member, Sergeant First Class Lucas “Frisco” Ingram, will never forget the day he met the pretty spy whose life was turned upside down in a split second. Torn and bleeding, she begged him to leave her to die, but he couldn’t do it. Now he can’t get her out of his head, and she wants nothing to do with him. But when a terrorist threatens an attack on American soil, Haven might be the only one who can help him and his teammates stop it.
While forced to work together, can Lucas convince Haven his feelings for her are not a result of guilt or pity and he has truly fallen for her? Will Haven figure out she has something worth fighting for staring her right in the face? Or will their chance for a happy-ever-after be blown to hell?
In addition to being part of Susan Stoker’s Special Forces: Operation Alpha Kindle World, Handling Haven is Book 1 in the Deimos series, which is a spinoff of Samantha A. Cole’s popular Trident Security series.

A crossover of Deimos, Trident Security and Delta Force Team=amazing!
I can’t say that this is could be a stand alone as I have read all the books in the Trident Security and Delta Force series and was pretty excited to reconnect with them in this book. All that Alpha in one book is almost too much to handle!
Haven Caldwell, operative of Deimos, is injured on assignment. Lucas (Frisco) Ingram, Delta Force member protects Haven after she’s down and gets her to safety. Haven asked him to do that unthinkable. He’s now living with guilt thinking he made her injury worse. Haven is now in a wheelchair and presently is not in a good space. She’s very angry and shutting everyone out. After some ‘tough love’ from Jordyn Haven starts to fight to regain her life.
Frisco has felt a connection to Haven from their first moment and would like to have a relationship beyond work. Haven has to believe in herself before they can get there. She sees herself as someone pitied. She doesn’t see herself a desirable woman.
With these teams working together there is lots of action and intrigue. Personally, I don’t think you could want much more in a book than what is in this one.
I love that we got to reconnect with all the characters and their lives.
What I really love about Samantha A Cole is that she has a way of writing that pulls you into the story that keeps you invested into the very end. This is a story you will not be putting down.
I have a rule, if it’s written by Samantha I am reading it!
First off if you haven’t read any of Samantha A. Cole’s or Susan Stokes books, what are waiting for? I highly recommend ALL of there books! In “Handling Haven” the heroine is in for some major changes and challenges. There I no one better to help her through this than Lucas “Frisco” Ingram, Delta soldier extraordinaire! As well as some of my favs from Samantha’s Trident series! Looking forward to reading what is next in her new series “Deimos”. Loved the way Samantha made the connection between her and Susan’s characters seamless! And to have 2 of my favorite authors in one book!! Priceless!!!
I’m reading through Samantha Cole’s suggested reading order for her multiple series and Handling Haven was next up. I was delighted already being familiar with Susan Stoker’s Operation Alpha world. This book is an incredible blending of Samantha’s Trident Security/Deimos series and Susan’s Operation Alpha world. Frisco and Haven are a wonderful match and the storyline is exciting, romantic and action-packed. I greatly admire the author’s realistic approach to an injured heroine in a wheelchair regaining the confidence to live life to the fullest. Beautiful book.
I loved this book!! I have read all Ms. Coles Trident Series and they just keep getting better with each new one! Take your time and just savor them all!
Hurt in the line of duty, Haven needs to find something worth fighting for and complete her recovery. Fresco feels a certain connection with the rogue operative who he watched get shot in the back and who pleaded to be left behind to be killed. When the two reconnect to work on a case the sparks fly and passion ignites. Can you really find love when you do not feel whole? Is it really love or just the feeling of pity? With beautifully written characters and a storyline that went from heartbreaking to heartwarming this book should not be missed. Once again, Samantha A. Cole does not disappoint.
Haven was a spy and on a mission something went wrong. Lucas and his team were there as well. When Haven is hit in the back and goes down, Lucas is there and she begs him to let her die. He was having none of that. So as she fights her way back, lucas and his team try to stop the terrorists on home soil along with Haven’s help.
Just when I think Samantha Cole can’t do any better with her writing, she goes and writes this book. Haven suffers the unthinkable when a mission goes wrong and wants nothing more than to be left there to die. Frisco watches her getting wounded and rushes to save her only to hear her tell him to leave her there. He’s been drawn to her as soon as he saw her and doesn’t listen to her. Carrying her to the chopper, the gang leaves the screwed up mission. Months later, he is asked to go see her. What happens next is so emotional and gut wrenching that I actually had to get out of bed and go sit in the living room so I wouldn’t wake up my husband who was sleeping. The pain and heart wrenching emotions coming from Haven made me cry…..a lot!! I loved the fact that Frisco doesn’t give up. And getting to see some of my favorite Trident Security guys was awesome. This story will make you mad, make you cry and then flip around and give you hope! I HIGHLY recommend this book to add to your collection. It is one I will read over and over.
As an agent for Deimos, Haven Caldwell devoted her life to protecting the United States and its citizens by tackling the threats that most people would never know about. She was good at what she did and could handle herself in any situation thrown at her . . . until her last mission goes awry and leaves her paralyzed and in a wheelchair questioning why she was left alive when she has nothing left to live for.
Delta Force member Lucas “Frisco” Ingram saved Haven’s life on the day she begged him to leave her to die. He felt an immediate connection with the beautiful spy. Unfortunately, she wants nothing to do with him when he tries to reconnect with her back on friendly soil, even as friends.
When Haven and Frisco are forced to work together to eliminate the threat that got away on the mission that left Haven paralyzed, Frisco becomes determined to let Haven know that she is all the woman he could ever want, wheelchair or not. While Haven struggles to resist the chemistry boiling between them, Frisco keeps reminding her that she has something worth fighting and living for. Will it be enough to force Haven out of her funk and back into the land of the living or will she retreat after the nuclear threat is neutralized?
Handling Have was a crossover book that tied two of my favorite worlds together . . . Susan Stoker’s Delta Force Heros and Samantha A Cole’s Trident Security series. Samantha did a fabulous job of integrating these two worlds and characters seamlessly so that readers would never suspect they were not meant to be together for this particular mission in the world of black ops.
Haven is a strong woman who has lost the will to live when she loses everything she thinks makes her the person she is. I can only imagine having to reimagine life when your identity changes in the blink of an eye due to a life altering injury. I love that Samantha showed these struggles and did not baby this character . . . especially when her best friend Jordyn has a real come to Jesus moment with her to give her the kick in the rear she needs to start seeing herself as more than her legs.
Frisco is a man tortured by Haven’s request to leave her behind when so many of his brother’s in arms never made it home. All he wants is to show Haven that her life can be full and that she is still the same person she was before . . . with or without the wheelchair that is now a part of her life. He also wants her to understand that he is not with her out of guilt, but because he finds her to be sexy and desirable in every way.
Handling Haven is a great mix of action and suspense as well as romance. I really loved watching favorite characters from two of my favorite book world’s meet and interact in a way that meshed together perfectly. This book is not to be missed if you are a fan of either series. 5 stars!
Handling Heaven was a very great story, I love how emotional it was…
Haven, is a covert operative for the US. She was traveling all around the world with her team mates, working on so many classify cases that no one could ever guess or imagine about her life, not to mention Haven was not her real name or identity anymore.. until one of her missions went wrong and something debastating happenes, that changes the course of her life and world…
Frisko, a Delta force member that works for the US who happened to be in the same mission, where the life of Haven changed forever.. she begged him to leave her, she begged him to not help her at all because the only thing she felt and saw was her life was completely lost..
There were so many great moments on the book, but what i love about it was, that it wasn’t all fire and bombs .. there is love, pain and struggle. We can see Haven is having a hard time recovering for what happened to her, you can feel her struggles, her desperation to be herself again. how she misses her old job and to be on the field chasing all the bad guys, how she misses flirting and having a man in her life..
The love story between Frisco and Haven is beautiful and i think very special.. Samantha take us on their love journey, easily and slowly, giving us time to feel their love and see their struggles..
From the moment they met, until they felt in love but also, we can feel how hard was for Frisko to help and make Haven feel his love, in a way that she would stop feeling sorry for herself and also thinking people were pitying her.. the whole story has a great flow and the love between Frisko and Haven its a beautiful journey..
One of my favorite quotes was, when Frisko is talking to Gunny,
“You tell them, I did it, Gunny. I did it for you, them, and every veteran who’s ever defended our flag”
Another favorite moment, when kick a..s Jordyn, talks to Haven or better say when she spoke some truth to her senses…
And the Bonus points of the story are? If you are a fan of The Trident Security Series, like the handsome and sexy Mr. T Carter, You can see him and many more of the hot characters of TSS showing up in Handling Haven .. we also get to see new characters, some of them you’ll love some of them you are going to hate .. and some of them are going to make you laugh..
last but not least, you are going to die with Ian and his nicknames lol they’re the best…

Samantha Cole’s beloved Sexy Six Pack and T Carter makes an appearance in Susan Stoker’s Kindle World we have all come to love. It starts with a bang and flows into one great story that has you rooting for the H and crossing your fingers for the h.
When a mission goes wrong Haven is left with so much anger and bitterness she is shutting everyone out.
Frisco can’t forget the anguish he saw in Haven’s eyes as they were airlifted from the FUBAR mission and is on his mind to the point of distraction.
Given a chance to check on her has him witnessing her at her worse and leaves him with guilt.
Enjoy this 5 Star Read to see how Frisco proves to Haven life’s worth living.
I loved reading Handling Haven ~ Frisco and Haven’s story! It’s an action packed military style romance! You’ll be enthralled from the first paragraph! Frisco is smitten with Haven the second he sees her and does everything can to save her…but can he save her from herself? It’s a must read to find out! And if you have ever read any other books by Samantha A. Cole, you will love how she brings the Deimos’s, Trident’s and Delta’s together in this book! It’s a great book with a great plot and great characters! A must read!
The Trident-universe grows more and more and it’s just perfect. But the best part, this book’s a cross-over to Susan Stokers Delta Teams i very much enjoy reading and hacing them intertwined with another author is just the ice on the cake.
Deimos Operative & Delta Force member fight for love
Haven Caldwell, an operative of Deimos, is gravely injured during a mission gone wrong. Lucas “Frisco” Ingram, a member of Delta Force, witnesses her being shot and rushes to rescue her. She begs Frisco to leave her behind and let her die on the battlefield. Frisco doesn’t have it in him to watch such a stunning spy die and carries her to a waiting chopper. Frisco lives with the guilt of believing he made her injury worse and never fully learns of her condition post-surgery. Months later, he’s asked by his superior to reach out to Haven as a last attempt to bring life back to the once vibrant beauty. Haven is angry at the world, Frisco and herself. She’s tired of being coddled and made to feel she can’t do anything she could do before the accident. In anger, Haven lashes out at Frisco when he visits and he simply leaves her a t-shirt that says “Wake Up. Kicka**.Repeat.” It’s exactly what she needs to get her out of the funk she’s in. Months go by without contact, but Haven is never far from Frisco’s mind, often wondering how she’s doing and where she’s at. Imagine his surprise when he walks into physical therapy for a minor injury and spots Haven, all sass & spitfire – just like before the accident. Frisco & Haven slowly become friends and they are assigned to work together on a case as Deimos & Delta Force team up for a dangerous mission. As Haven now works from home due to her wheelchair, Frisco is forced to spend his days at Haven’s house. Frisco desires a relationship beyond friendship with Haven, but Haven is resistant. She believes she’s broken and undesirable. She has to believe in herself before she can fully believe in the relationship Frisco so deeply desires.
This book was a great action-packed, swoon worthy read full of characters from Susan Stoker’s world! The author did a great job building upon Susan Stoker’s world. This book will make you laugh, cry, shout in anger & joy and have you believing love can conquer all by the end of the story! I highly recommend!
