I FREAKING LOVED IT!!!
LINCOLN!!!!
I have devoured this book and I could not put it down! It made me laugh, swoon and it was hot hot hot!!
READ IT!!!!
We never met Lincoln Moorehead when we got to see what a piece of work Armstrong Moorehead was in Hooking Up. Lincoln knows what a screw up family he has so he stayed away for the longest time. Lincoln spends his time working on projects and building things for the less fortunate and in 3rd world countries. Unfortunately Lincoln had to come home for his father’s funeral. Lincoln has a very low opinion of his father and knows that his father had cheated on his mother, even though Lincoln doesn’t care for his mother either. Now he loves his grandmother and it is that love that guilts him into staying in NY to help out with the family company until his grandmother can find a replacement for the CEO position. This definitely does not make Lincoln happy and to make matters worse, he finds out that his mother has hired a handler for him to help make him look presentable as CEO and to also help him get up to speed on the company.
What’s a love story without having Armstrong involved to make life more difficult for Lincoln and to show us that Armstrong is still a spoiled brat who thinks he can get away with anything he wants and he will somehow get bailed out by his family. Which also makes him believe that nothing is his fault and it is everyone else’s fault. The first time we get formally introduced to Wren Sterling is in the conference where the will is being read for Lincoln and Armstrong’s father and we see her in action when Armstrong throws his fits. I applaud Wren for being able to put Armstrong in a headlock, make him be scared of her, and puts him in his place. Lincoln also sees this and wants to know more about this woman that can handle Armstrong. However when Lincoln finds out she’s his handler, he is not too happy about it.
As the 2 spend more time together because Wren is just in his face and space about everything, the two of them try to irritate each other and get on each other’s nerves. They are secretly fighting the attraction that they have for each other until they finally crack and act on it. I love how Wren is so strong and can handle herself when it comes to dealing with both Lincoln and Armstrong. She knows what she wants and goes after it. Lincoln and Wren work together and play together and loves each other’s company. Their relationship makes it more bearable for Lincoln to be in NY. However, when Lincoln gets too close to finding out more about his father’s life away from the family, his mother decides to blackmail Wren for her to make him stop investigating. Wren must decide what she has to do in order to protect both her, her family and Lincoln. Once she lets Lincoln know about the situation with his mother, the 2 of them are determined to find out the big secret and what they find out shocks Lincoln. Lincoln finds out more about his parent’s relationship and what type of person his mother truly is. With the help of his grandmother once he tells her what he uncovers, they confront his mother with some shocking results.
Throughout the story, Armstrong is his typical self and never really changes. It is not until the end and with the most unlikely person that Wren and Lincoln could imagine that could make Armstrong slightly behave but still can’t make him change his ways. Wren and Lincoln find that they have the same passion in helping people and want to pursue that while Lincoln continues to be the CEO of the company, which Lincoln realizes he can restructure the company to what he wants it to be going forward. Lincoln and Wren are just the perfect couple for each other once they get to relax and be who they really are with each other and can show their true feelings to the world.
Also, the Mills family were mentioned during the book so we got a little update on what’s going on with them. We also found out that Lincoln and Griffin were close and kept in touch even though they don’t get to see each other much.
I have basically skipped around in this series, shame on me, Lol. I read Shacking up and then I read I Flipping Love you, to skip over another book to end up reading HWC., Lol. All in all, I don’t feel left out, too much. I mean Armstrong is still a douche bag and we have Lincoln, the eldest and our CEO recluse, coming back to take over the reins. Wren is a PR consultant originally hired to make sure that Lincoln’s brother Armstrong doesn’t tarnish the family business, but she is now tasked in helping Lincoln make the transition into the corporate world. Filled with witty sarcasm, humor and hot loving that neither were expecting, leads to a HEA. I freaking loved it! 4 stars*****
*****I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book provided by St. Martin’s publishing through NetGalley*****
Handle with Care was my first Helena Hunting book, and I am totally in love!
This couple was everything. I loved both Wren and Lincoln. Neither was where they wanted to be, but made the best of it. Lincoln totally stepped up to the plate when he needed to and Wren was a total bada$$ when handling her bad boy clients. It was crazy fun watching her constantly put Armstrong on his butt and watching her out maneuver Lincoln to get him to do what she needed him to.
Linc and Wren’s chemistry was hot from the first time they met and a relationship between them was inevitable, but I loved how they didn’t let it rule them and they still were able to remain professionals in the workplace no matter how hot they were outside of it.
Handle With Care was such a surprising read! The ancillary characters such as Wren’s parents and Linc’s Grandma were entertaining and integral to the plot. And, while things with Linc and Wren worked out as expected, the other storyline drama was seriously well played and unexpected. I had no idea where things were going until they got there , and I was completely sucked in. I loved every minute of this book. 5 stars!
Crazy story about Wren, the city girl, who is hired to be the handler for two brothers in a family business. Armstrong is the womanizing sibling without much of a conscience and Lincoln is the good guy who was off in third world countries living his best life. Their father, who is the head of the company dies unexpectedly, and just like that Lincoln becomes the new CEO of the business. As a handler, Wren, makes sure the brothers look great and keeps them from getting into trouble. She also tends to walk in on Lincoln at all the best times. Some themes: Office romance, cool Grandma, a mother that is not so lovable, twists and turns, tighty whities, strong women and a sweet guy.
Overall this was a good read, I just wasn’t wowed.
Lincoln Moorehead has returned to NYC after his father’s death and is forced to take on the role of CEO of the family company when it’s the last thing he wants to do. Wren Sterling has managed to survive keeping Lincoln’s narcissistic brother out of the media’s eyes but now is tasked to also “handle” the elder brother as he fills the role of CEO.
I was all prepared to see the sparks fly between these two who are placed in positions they would rather be without. If I were Lincoln, I’d be miserable too but he seemed to get over his frustration quickly. I expected more trouble from him and more of a need for Wren to “handle” him, which could lead to some fun sparks flying. Yet, Wren just became a glorified assistant to Lincoln and there wasn’t much angst between them with more of the focus turning to their family issues.
Hunting is a skilled writer and it shows in Handle with Care. I just wasn’t taken with Lincoln and Wren’s relationship or maybe it was just that Lincoln didn’t really stand out to me as I expected.
Despite that, it’s a great story so one I would recommend!
Ever since Lincoln was mentioned in Hooking Up I have been very curious and excited to hopefully get his story and now it’s finally here.
The first chapter delivers an amazing introduction to Lincoln and Wren. Their first meeting and interaction with sparse communication left me pretty damn happy. A brooding Lincoln with a man bun and beard. Yes please! Wren is a fierce kickass woman who knows how to handle Lincoln’s irresponsible brother Armstrong. Putting him in a headlock. You go Wren.
Lincoln and Wren has to work together and it creates some very delicious unresolved sexual tension and hilarious bantering between them. As opposed his is to being in NY and helping his grandmother with his father’s company Lincoln also finds positive things about it too. His sexy and opinionated handler Wren. They’re fun and share amazing chemistry. When secrets threatens to be revealed I feared the good old omission plot but thankfully the author goes another route and made me enjoy and appreciate the characters and the story even more.
Handle With Care was a fabulous romantic comedy and great addition to the Shaking Up series. Lincoln Moorehead was so worth the wait.
4 Red Lipstick Stars
I really love Helena Hunting. She always manages the perfect mix of romance and comedy. And even though she seems to have my sense of humour I still find I end up with a few unexpected laugh out loud moments that took me completely by surprise.
When I read the last book I was expecting more laughs from the book given the sex toy selling main character and the stuck up CEO counterpart and I was a little disappointed by my own expectations. So I really went into this one not expecting anything but a good story and I can say Helena definitely delivered.
Luckily this book can be read as a standalone since my goldfish memory had forgotten most of the details until I was reminded. And that just made me love it even more. I had all these reminders of previous couples I had loved. And I got a whole mess of Armstrong drama to make me giggle and judge.
Lincoln and Wren were perfect. And I seriously enjoyed every minute of the tease as much as I loved them together. Lincoln had so much going on and he handled it all so well, with the help and guidance of Wren. They were the perfect compliment to each other and I seriously enjoyed the epilogue and can’t wait to see where Helena will go with the series next.
I loved this couple, Helena always delivers!!!
This was one drama filled mess of a book and I loved every single minute of it. Wren has been hired to pretty much make sure Armstrong the youngest Moorehead doesn’t ruin the company or family name into the ground and she’s almost to the end of her contract when the unthinkable happens. So the reclusive oldest son Lincoln is coming home and unbeknownst to him he will be running the company and Wren has been ask to stay on to change him from a rough looking mountain man to a business man. Linc wants nothing to do with his family or the company but he stays on to help his grandmother. And for some reason he’s never had so much fun riling up Wren. The closer they get the more secrets they are unraveling about his family. This book will draw you in from the very beginning. You will laugh, you will cry, and you will want to beat someone actually a few somebody’s over and over again. And I need to read the other books in this series asap!!! By Tina
Wonderful contemporary billionaire romance. Lincoln has chosen to stay away from his wealthy family until his father died and he has to become the CEO. He loves to work in third world countries building health facilities, schools, and orphanages. Wren is hired by his mother to handle Lincoln as she has been dealing with his brother. Their meeting is entertaining. Many family secrets come out through the course of the story. I received a complementary copy of this book via Net Galley and chose to write a review. I look forward to reading future books by Ms. Hunting.
This book is why Helena is at the top of my rom-com auto-buy list. Funny. Charming. HOT. You can’t go wrong with this book.
Lincoln and Wren, office romance at the highest best. Sparks fly everywhere, the bantering is so entertaining to read. all the antics and the feels are there. I love every page of it. This series is one I will recommend for everyone. I think this is the best one in the series. I was looking forward for Lincoln’s story and the delivery surpassed my expectations in a great way. Can’t wait for more!
I absolutely LOVE Wren and Lincoln! Her fiery sass and his surely attitude made them the perfect pair! I loved their banter and Wren’s quick wit! And G-Mom made this a rom com you definitely won’t be forgetting!
I love Hunting’s ability to create a storyline that I didn’t expect and how she brings in past characters you love and even if you haven’t met said characters you get to know them without feeling left out!
A definite summer must read especially if you’re needed a few laughs to carry over into the coming winter months!
Can Lincoln be mine? I seriously LOVE HIM!! He’s so perfectly grumpy & alpha…he’s definitely one of my favorite Helena heroes! Wren was perfect too! Lincoln didn’t know he needed her, but she took care of him and helped him handle this difficult situation. Their chemistry was swoon worthy! I loved how she dealt with Armstrong (because he’s literally the WORST!). The book was impossible to put down!!
Handle with Care was one of those book that you wish doesn’t end. It had the perfect mix of romance, drama, emotion, sass and steamy bits. I loved it from cover to cover, couldn’t put it down.
Wren was a great female main character, she was so strong and independent. Linc, he was just adorable. They made a great couple.
Loved this book, loving this series.
Absolutely Fantastic! Smart, sexy, funny and very entertaining. Wonderfully written with characters that jump off the pages. The banter between the grouchy he-man, Lincoln, the reluctant heir to the massive Moorehead Media empire and his PR handler, the beautiful, smart and capable, Wren is marvelous and so much fun. The two hotties soon find a sexy chemistry that can’t be deny. She handles him into the groomed-to-perfection face of the company while he melts her panties (and mine) in the process. Even though he looks the part, behind the scenes he’s still the man with an axe to grind with his family and itching to return to his altruistic endeavors to help the less fortunate in third world countries. It looks like their relationship has an end date plus it’s not the best for his optics as CEO. Also, his scheming mother has other plans for her eldest that doesn’t include a romance with a woman she considers beneath the powerful Moorehead dynasty. The secondary characters are terrific and I love the glimpses of Linc’s cousins from previous stories. Oh, those sexy men, Lex and Griffin! The way Wren handles Linc’s nasty brother, Armstrong is hilarious! I guess there’s no redemption for him in the future. This author’s writing is just spectacular and the characters she gives to enjoy are terrific in every way. This story has everything you could want in a sexy romance with humor and enough drama to keep it interesting for a divine couple in Wren and Lincoln and a little mystery surrounding Linc’s recently deceased father. Great ending. Loved it! I voluntarily reviewed an ARC.
Favorite Quotes:
Do not sass me, Lincoln Alexander Moorehead. And do not call me G-mom in front of the goddamn staff. How am I going to keep my battle-ax reputation with you shouting nicknames that make me sound like a second-rate rap star?
I don’t know what kind of karmic bomb your parents managed to set off when they created your brother.
I’m startled out of my thoughts when my brother jumps up and shouts a bunch of profane nonsense, hands flailing like he’s trying to swim on land, or approximate the chicken dance while on an LSD trip… He keeps jabbing his finger at me, as if he’s engaged in a finger sword fight.
Gwendolyn’s expression is slightly pinched— which is saying something because most of her face usually doesn’t move.
Dear sweet baby Jesus riding a unicorn.
He wasn’t faithful to my mother, and maybe I can understand that, since she has the warmth of a corpse…
My Review:
I am stunned and truthfully mortified to report that this was my first Helena Hunting experience… where have I been? The woman is a prolific and clever wordsmith and has a backlist a mile long – I am so ashamed of myself ~ hangs head… But now that I am in the know I plan to make amends for my slothful and inattentive ways and greedily latch on to as many of her skillful arrangements of words as possible. I am totally enamored with her wit, observantly descriptive writing style, and irreverent humor.
Handle With Care was written in my favorite dual POV with sparkling levity, titillating family scandals, smoldering sensual scenes, vile yet quirky villains that I loved to despise, and a plethora of enticing and intriguing primary and secondary characters. I adored every well-placed word and smirked my way through this absorbing and refreshingly entertaining tale. Sigh, I enjoyed these characters so much I am more than a bit reluctant to let them go, but at least I now have a new favorite author to fangirl.
4 Stars
Handle With Care is book 5 in the Shacking Up series, but can be read as a standalone and I have to say I enjoyed the crap out of this one. Lincoln and Wren are both great characters and I loved both equally. Their chemistry is off the charts hot and they couldn’t be anymore perfect for each other. Their banter had me laughing out loud so many times I lost count. Another great addition to this series.
Angela – Alphas Do It Better Book Blog
The Shacking Up Series continues and only gets better as Lincoln Moorehead is featured as the delectable do-gooder brought in to help fix his family’s multi-million dollar business.
Having been a fan of this series since the beginning, I have been waiting for Lincoln’s story for some time and Hunting does not disappoint. Always writing her heroines to be fierce, no-nonsense, with a side of allure, Wren was a character that I won’t soon forget!
This outrageous book, full of great one-liners and smoking hot chemistry is sure to make you smile from ear to ear. Whether you read this as a standalone or in order with the rest of the series, I am sure you will be delighted.
As Always, Happy Reading!
