I love Lincoln and Wren together. I love that Wren was a no BS person and handled Lincoln when he first got there. These two were HOT together. While there was only minimal drama I really thought this was a good read.
I wrote this review based on an advance reading copy that the publisher sent me.
I never read a book with a warning in the cover, but this one you have to handle it with care. This new novel by Helena Hunting is the perfect summer read: light, fun, sweet and sexy, with amazing new characters and some great cameos of our favorites on the series.
Lincoln is Armstrong (Amalie’s ex-husband) older brother, and as much of us he can’t stand him. Well, as a matter of fact his relationship with the family is kinda complicated so he has been ‘disconnected’ from them. Until his dad passes, and he is summoned to rule the family business. Something he doesn’t want.
Being in the media business, his mother thought it was a good idea to hire a “handler”. A public relationships consultant named Wren, who’s an expert fixing… well, every possible kind of (public) mess. And despite their initial animosity toward each other, soon the things start to get too hot to handle.
This book has its soap-opera-like moments, yes, but they are hilarious. Wren is like all Helena Hunting’s heroins combined: baddass, sassy, witty, strong and smart; and Lincoln… well, he is totally swoon-worthy. I loved them together, and I rooted for their HEA every single chapter of the book.
Something cool about this book? We get to see Griffin and Cosy again. YAY! Also there’s a little cameo of Ruby, Bane, Amalie and Lex.
One of my favorite characters in this story is Lincoln’s G-mom. And Hope. She’s pretty cool too.
I finished this read feeling it’s possible to redeem Armstrong in some point. I really hope Helena writes a woman capable of shake that assholiness out of him and turn him into book-boyfriend material. Who know. Everything is possible in fiction.
Ok, it’s safe to say I loved every single second of this book! The banter is hilarious, the characters are fantastic and the story keeps you guessing without being confusing! I also enjoyed the evolution of Armstrong’s character. Overall, a fantastic read!
Lincoln Moorehead has always been somewhat of an enigma and would rather be in a third world country making a difference than stuck in New York dealing with his family’s company. But now he does not have much of a choice…at least temporarily.
Wren Starling has been a PR consultant for the business and has been responsible for wrangling his obnoxious, impulsive, playboy brother, Armstong, and cleaning up his image. So taking on Lincoln in the same capacity can’t be that big a deal, right?
Well, untamed Lincoln does clean up well. And he is witty, intelligent, honest, and altruistic. Oh, and so very, very hot. Wren is snarky, bossy, and organized. She is supposed to keep him in check but also challenges him and inspires him. Sparks are flying and they both may be in a bit over their heads. I really liked these two together. They had such fun and witty rapport and great chemistry. And once they found even ground, they actually communicated. Sometimes that is rare in a romance novel.
But can they handle secrets and a possible scandal that they never saw coming?
This is a witty, sexy, workplace romance built on a web of family secrets. This can be read as a standalone although we do get some cameos from his Mills cousins and their partners, and we already know his philandering brother, Armstrong from other books. The family dynamics add a whole other component to this story.

Can we all say – what a great read!!!
I adore Lincoln. I loved that he did what was asked from him even when he didn’t want to. It was so fun seeing them becoming (sorta) friends before giving in to the attraction. And let’s not forget the lipstick incient when they first kissed – LOL!!! I loved Wren. She was smart, strong and could take care of herself. I loved the fact that when she was pushed against a wall she didn’t let it be the end of her.
I loved how they stood their ground and wouldn’t let anyone tear them apart. I loved all the funny, hot/steamy moments but also emotional moments. I even loved the drama because it made them stronger as a couple.
In case it’s not clear – I LOVED THE WHOLE BOOK!!!

This is the story of the elusive Lincoln Moorehead, we got hints and peeks of him in the other stories in this series. So I was so looking forward to this and Ms. Hunting gives us readers another amazing story!
Handle With Care is not only funny and full of the heat you come to love in Ms. Hunting’s stories, this one has some twists and turns that are gonna leave you with some OMG moments!
Lincoln in forced to become something he doesn’t want or need. He has always been the absentee family member and with good reason.
Wren is hired to polish Lincoln’s image, but what starts as a professional relationship becomes so much more! She is a bit of a mystery, but good at her job of handling both Lincoln and Aaron…(still the complete jerk he has always been!)
Quick witted banter and fantastic dialogue make this story a page turner that you won’t be able to put down till the end.
Past characters make appearances and it’s lovely to read up on what they are up to. It doesn’t distract from the main story and brings just more.
Each story in this series just gets better and better! Get you hands on this story, you won’t regret it!
I absolutely adored this one. Lincoln and Wren’s chemistry is scorching hot from the get go. Their banter will make you go back and forth between laughing and swooning. This forbidden storyline with twists and turns will keep you hanging on every word until the end. A definite must read!
I love a romance where the writing is intelligent and witty and the characters are well thought out. You get exactly that in Handle with Care. Admittedly, I have not read the entire series, but this was such a great read I’ll definitely go back and get them in.
Wren Starling and Lincoln Moorehead are exactly what I crave in a romantic couple. She is no-nonsense and fierce both in and out of the office. Lincoln is charming, altruistic, handsome. Both are devoted to those they hold dear and believe honesty is the best policy. They are not without flaws because what human isn’t? But I’m I finding characters written with these types of traits far more sexy and way more interesting than any other.
The really enjoyed their banter and chemistry. The pacing and progression of the story is great. It’s a sweet and swoon-y read i thoroughly enjoyed.
I just love how tough Wren is and she has to be being that she has to keep Armstrong Moorehead from causing embarrassment to the company that he is heir to. When Fredrick his father dies the long lost son Lincoln shows up, well now as part of her contract she has to watch Lincoln also but that is not a hardship. The more time they spend together the more they build a relationship but his mother wants none of that and she threatens Wren with a scandal that will rock Wren and her family no matter how she feels about Lincoln.
This book was a great read and not too long or short and the characters made you feel for them except Armstrong he was just a spoiled brat.

Handle With Care was similar to Making Up in the sense that it stared off at a slower pace and picked up later in the book. There was a lot of interesting drama, surprisingly not all of it pertaining to Armstrong. He really is a jerk and an idiot, but he does add some humor to the book. Their mother is also a piece of work and I definitely did not like her. Lincoln is a good guy, he’s quite similar to Griffin. He can be gruff and surly, but also sweet and caring. I like how Wren can handle him and make him happy. I also love how she can put Armstrong in his place. Wren is a hardworker and a good person. I like how her and Lincoln just seem to fit and work together. The storyline was interesting and entertaining and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
This is my first Helena Hunting ARC but I’ve read some of her books. I was excited for this ARC because the blurb lured me in.
This book was a combination of enemies to lovers and falling-for-your-boss trope… though technically Wren was hired by Lincoln’s mother. I won’t get into details because I’m afraid I might divulge spoilers.
The pacing was great, the characters meshed well… character’s growth was apparent as the story went on … and there’s that plot twist you didn’t see coming… great word building… and depending on your mood, I’d say it’s an easy-read… I said that because the plot twist might be a trigger for some for readers.
I enjoyed the book. Lincoln and Wren’s love story is sweet and swoony and it’s definitely something every romantic sap would want to read.

I loved Wren and Lincoln, like, want to hang out and be friends with them! Wren is so smart, self-confident, no holds-barred, and full kick-butt with anyone and everyone. Lincoln has a strong social conscience, sense of loyalty, and a huge heart. Together, they are an unstoppable team, and putting them together for work purposes, well, there was no way that wasn’t going to lead to more
Having only seen one person from the Moorehead family, and we all know how much we despised, and you will continue to despise, that person, Lincoln is much the Moorehead family member who escaped the family, and it’s drama, and it’s backstabbing, and it’s craziness, and made off to make the world a better place. His mind and actions slowly turn as the story progresses, and he does possess some of wildness in his family tree, he just uses his for good and not evil
Wren knew what she was up against with one brother, and handling Lincoln was not something she was worried. Until she met him, and saw him, and the attraction sparked between. A smart and sexy romance develops, and when the evilness threatens them, they rally and respond smartly. Nothing is going to prevent these two from their HEA, and they are facing everything together
And thanks to a great big surprise, more please!

I love a Helena Hunting book anytime, but there was something about Handle with Care and specifically Lincoln and Wren that I was so captivated by! Lincoln might be my favorite Hunting hero ever!
Lincoln has come home to attend his father’s funeral and he reluctantly agrees to help his G-mom (I LOVE this moniker!) out by acting as CEO of Moorehead Media until they can find a suitable replacement because it’s clear Armstrong, Lincoln’s brother isn’t the man for the job.
Wren has been working at Moorehead for the last several months trying to keep Armstrong in line. Clearly that is a full-time job, but when Lincoln shows up, she’s asked to work with him as well. At first she’s afraid she’s going to uncover all kinds of things about him, but she quickly finds out that she might have judged him wrong.
As the two begin to spend time together, their chemistry is undeniable. They work well together and as the book moves on, they become a formidable team. While they are dealing with all sorts of things at the office, they are also dealing with the sparks flying between them. When they decide to give into their feelings, but to keep them under wraps from the general public, it proves to be more difficult then they expected because of the strength of them. Will they be able to fool everyone around them or are the feelings too transparent?
This was an amazing book with the humor we are accustomed to from Helena Hunting, but there was also plenty of heart, emotion and drama. While this can be read as a standalone, I’d highly recommend the rest of the series as well as picking up this gem!
Hunting has really spoilt her readers this summer with two stand-alone novels in the Shacking Up series but sadly, Handle With Care is the last one. What a send-off! As per usual, I read the book in one sitting; however, this one felt totally different. Laugh-out-loud scenes intermingled with intrigue had me hooked. Something just didn’t seem to add up and I wanted to find out what it was.
The mysterious Lincoln Moorhead is not a happy man. Back in New York City to attend the funeral of his father, never did he expect or even want to be tied to the family-run business. A good chunk of his life had been spent shirking them, and now he has little choice other than to accept his grandmother’s proposal. Moorhead Media’s future meant the only person to be trusted at the helm was him. Well, how could he not say no to her! Sharp and oh-so-witty, I’d love to have a grandmother like Lincoln’s in my life.
“I don’t even know who I am. I don’t want these people to be my family. How is this the legacy I’m supposed to uphold?”
Understandably, Lincoln’s short-tempered. Especially knowing full well he’d have to deal with his infamous brother’s compulsive and bizarre nature inside and out of the office. You really must meet Armstrong if you haven’t already. You probably won’t like him, but his outrageous shenanigans added a whole lot of spice to the story. No wonder he rubbed Lincoln up the wrong way!
“Are you ready to deal with Armstrong now?”
“Is anyone ever?”
Nonetheless, the surprise was the jaw-droppingly beautiful gal who’d already been contracted to put out the flames, making everything look like false publicity. Now it’s the new CEO’s turn but for different reasons. Organising Lincoln’s agenda and giving him much-needed makeover is on the cards.
“You can’t tell me I can’t shave me head or force me to get a haircut.”
Laugh until I cried, Wren Sterling’s modus operandi regarding Lincoln is really a case of snip, tuck and straighten. Although he wasn’t at all keen on the idea, I never heard him complain when she ran her fingers through his hair, tucked in his shirt or fiddled with his tie before attending meetings. The forces of attraction cannot be denied, but the job comes first. She’s very, very good at it and although Lincoln doesn’t feel comfortable being back after such a long time, he’s adapting slowly and doing a damn good job, too.
‘That lipstick drives me up the wall. It’s always on. Always perfect. Always a distraction.’
Told from a dual perspective in present and overflowing with playful banter and steaminess, Lincoln’s narrative of his past evoked all the feels. Wren’s put between a rock and a hard place, faces it head-on and had me happy dancing. Here’s one spunky woman who’s not going to take shit from anyone!
“I don’t know how every man who crosses your path doesn’t fall in love with you. Everything about you is incredible.”
Guessing the twist before the ending didn’t spoil my reading enjoyment in the slightest. My only wish was the person behind some awfully cruel manoeuvres would get what they deserved. Hunting’s wrapped up this series perfectly and I couldn’t recommend it more. Bravo!
*4 Stars*
ARC kindly received in exchange for an honest review.
I enjoyed reading this one. Wren and Lincoln were fantastic main characters, and we had a host of interesting secondary characters as well.
Lincoln clearly does not want to be back in NYC running his family company, but he is suddenly thrust into the situation and to go along with it, is assigned a handler, who is Wren. These two seem at first like they’re going to butt heads, particularly after Wren’s experiences with Linc’s brother Armstrong (who is still the douchiest of all douches), but as it turns out, Linc is very different from his idiot brother.
Learning about these two and watching their bond grow was great, and I loved how there was actually proper communication between them for the most part as well. They have great best friends as secondary characters and some family members are pretty cool too (Oh hey, G-Mom!).
I really enjoyed this read, and sped through it fairly quickly as well. Definitely recommend.
I’m so in love with Lincoln and Wren. You will love them too. Wren doesn’t take crap from anyone. She is bold and not afraid to put anyone in their place for their own good. She is good at her job and it shows when dealing with Lincoln’s brother Armstrong (if you’ve read any previous books then you will know Armstrong) and Lincoln’s mother. Lincoln is his own man and not afraid of hard work. He is amazing and so hot. I love his relationship with G-Mom. It’s so fun to watch him and Armstrong interact. You will be giggling at times just as you are fanning yourself too. Lincoln and Wren are so hot together. I love how well they bring out the best in each other. The pull between Wren and Lincoln is strong and will pull you in. I love what Helena Hunting gives us with Handle With Care. She knows how to suck you in and give you just this carefree laugh out loud read. This is one of my favorites in the Shacking Up series.
Lincoln was really out of his realm. He didn’t like to spend time with his family but unfortunately his father had died and he suddenly finds himself named CEO of the family business. He’s not happy, and his troublesome, narcissistic younger brother is even unhappier, if it’s possible. The upside is he meets Wren, his personal handler, she has the task of transforming Lincoln, the wildman into a sauve business man.
Wren was a terrific character, I loved her, she made me laugh out loud many a time. She could deal with any situation. She had her hands full with the mess’s Armstrong had made and still continues too make but Wren didn’t let anything or one get in her way, a real trooper.
A real fun read. Great writing. Loved Lincoln and Wren, they made a great team and his irresponsible brother Armstrong was a riot. A definite must read!
After his father passes Lincoln Moorehead finds himself being handed the reigns of the family business, which is the last thing he wants! Through the years his parents have always tried to get him to take more of an interest in the family business, constantly trying to find ways to lure him into their glitzy and glamorous world. But he would rather spend his time helping third world countries doing good, then flaunting his wealth like his brother and parents. He would love nothing more than to walk away and have no part of the business, but his brother has made a mess of things, and he is his grandmothers last hope at saving it before they lose it all!
But he looks nothing like a upstanding businessman, and his grandmother has the perfect plan to remedy that… one that involves a bossy and beautiful woman that is determined to whip him into shape!
Handle With Care delivers on all fronts, it’s pages are littered with humor, heart-squeezing emotion, and sizzling romance! I loved every single second of this captivating story, it had my full attention from beginning to end. These two love birds were quite the pairing, their snarky banter had me giggling throughout, and their attraction to one another set the pages on fire, they were pure literary magic. I highly recommend you get your hands on this one, it’s expertly penned words will take you on an unforgettable journey!
I received an advanced copy of this title from the publisher through a giveaway hosted by Goodreads, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest and unbiased opinion.
Well damn, this book blew my mind. It held my attention the entire time, 5 stars for this one!
Meet Lincoln, who has distanced himself from his disfunctional family as best he can! When his father passes away, he’s forced to come back to town for the funeral, the only saving grace is is G-Mom, or grandmother on his dad’s side. He’s never been close to his dad, or mother for that matter, he just wants to blow in and back out after the funeral till his G-mom begs him to stay on for a bit to help the family company out.
When he meets his brother Armstrongs “handler” Wren, he’s immediately smitten with her, the way she handles his brother is amazing. She’s also signed on through his mother to “handle” him as well, but there is a definite attraction to him.
When Lincoln stumbles upon information about his father that he never knew about, all hell within this family will break lose and his only life line is Wren. Read along as you find out what the heck has been going on for so long, you will be amazed! Grab this on release day!
While I would always fall in love with the male character (because let’s face it, I have a lot of book boyfriends) in this book, I bow down to Wren. Lincoln is handsome, respectful, honest, smart, trust worthy and with great values. So how can you not appreciate a specimen like that? BUT after reading how honest and strong Wren is, there is no other choice but to admire her. She is on top of things, doesn’t coward away, takes control and is organized. And I have to mention that she deserves a prize for dealing with Armstrong alone. She is a power house! The story feels long but it packs a lot of information. Good thing is, even when I thought I knew what was going to happen, the story gave me an extra twist. Plus Armstrong is a great character in all the wrong ways LOL. Will have you thinking “how can anyone like that exists, and how come no one has strangled him already?” He keeps everyone on their toes, drives you crazy as a reader but keeps you entertained.
