It started with a window that was jammed shut. Pretty simple, right? All I wanted was to open the windows while I tidied the house. I’d been after my no-good husband to do it for months, but he never did. And then he shacked up with his secretary, leaving me with a pile of bills, husband-free for the first time in ten years, and with a house that was falling apart.
The ad popped up on the side of my social media feed—a local contracting agency willing to do pretty much anything. Since I don’t really know a screwdriver from a ratchet, I gave them a call.
And let me tell you, the ad was NOT lying. Jesse O’Neill can do it ALL…and looks amazing doing it.
He fixed my window, so I called him back to fix the sagging, splintery front steps. Which led to him fixing my kitchen sink. And then he recarpeted my stairs. And then fixed the squeak in my bed.
He was supposed to fix my house, not my rusty, sputtering libido. And certainly not my broken heart.

At 35% in, I was texting my book bestie that she needed this book and sent her the buy link. By the time this book was over, I KNOW she will love it, just like I did! The idea behind Dad Bod Contracting is hysterical and a genius marking ploy to begin with. But then add the super duper hot workers like Jesse, Franco and James? If only there was something like that in reality!
This story was so funny and so hot and just perfect to entertain me while I’m waiting on a super important work assignment to hit my desk. Definitely can’t wait to read about more of this series! The Dad Bod’s are pretty funny and sweet and hot.
An awesome new series from Jasinda Wilder – who has cemented herself as an author I will auto signup and read!
What a ride !! OMG let me tell you, you need this book !! Hammered by the outstanding author Jasinda Wilder is the first book in her brand new series Dad Bod Contracting.
Inmogen Irving is a newly divorced woman. She´s disillusioned, betrayed in the worst way, lonely and a bit bitter.
And then there´s Jesse O´Neill. He´s the construction guy / handy man. He´s a hot guy and he´s really good with his hands.
Theses two hit it right off, but both have issues and baggage. Jesse doesn´t do heartbreak. He´s not a relationship guy and Imogen is a strong heroine, yes she´s a bit battered but she knows what she wants.
Both have this crazy insta connection and their chemistry is through the roof high.
I started reading and was hooked from page one. The writing is excellent and the story is more than captivating. I read the book in one sitting, I had to know what happened to the characters, asap. Hammered is ascorching, just wow wow wow- fans herself read.
This story put a smile on my face and I can´t wait to read the next book, Drilled – Audra and Franco´s story.
A light, fun, sexy read — perfect for summer or beach reading! It has older aged couples, and is a second chance romance with humor. Love!
So good! Jesse and Imogen are both in their forties, jaded, but tentatively looking for more. The story is full of action, innuendo, steam and some great characters.
Jesse and Imogen had me glued to this story from the first page. Imogen is fresh off of a divorce and realizes just how bad of a husband her ex was who leaves her with a house in bad need of a do over and no money. When she fixes her gaze on an add she reluctantly calls and is in for the shock of her life when Jesse answers the call. It also starts the journey of their relationship. They both are carrying baggage but can they leave it all behind for a second chance for a happily ever after? This story will have you in their corner cheering them on to finding out!
Yes, that’s again a perfect Jasinda Wilder romance with all I need and love – crackling attraction, really hot moments, setbacks, escape from oneself, fear of happiness and an emotional depth and tension through and through, oh and delicious, hot interaction with creativity and passion.
Snuggle down, treat yourself to a few stimulants and enjoy…
I’m glad this craftsman company has 4 talented craftsmen – off to the next assignment …
I enjoyed the book. The nurse was insecure. The ex did a number on her. The contractor was the man for her. Even though he has a past he had to get over. But in the end they were on the right track. Good read.
Wow. I’m blessed to be on a lot of ARC teams. At this time I’m not on Ms Wilder’s… but I feel it must be said I’m on a lot of my fav authors teams, which makes reading books in between long awaited ARCs difficult.
THIS book was AWESOME!
I’ve had on my shelf awhile.
I love Jasinda’s stuff.
I don’t know why I held out on reading it.
I seriously regret it.
Going on my top 2019 reads shelf 1000%
Meet Imogene, recently, messily divorced sweet woman.

Jasinda Wilder
This series is well written and very Entertaining to read. I always enjoy just send Jasinda,s books they are a great Escape and fun to read.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and want a Dad Bod for myself! The story was sexy, funny and romantic. Both Imogen and Jesse have had bad relationships in the past, but after a lot of miscommunication and missed signals they decide to go for it. I cannot wait to read the next book – Audra and Franco.
3.5 Stars! Hammered is only my second book by Jasinda Wilder. The blurb caught my attention with the promise of some sexy older men completing honey-do lists.
Summary:
All Imogen Irving wanted was to get a breeze going through her house and relax after a crap day. Who knew a broken window would result in an encounter that would tempt her broken heart and awaken her hibernating libido. The ad for the local contracting company, Dad Bod Contracting, definitely didn’t lie. Jesse O’Neill has a talent with tools, and he more than looks good doing anything. Imogen didn’t expect him to be sexy, understanding, and generous, too. But he is, and she can’t help but keep calling him back to tackle more of her honey-do list. She also can’t help the increased sexual tension with each new encounter. Soon, Jesse’s focused more on her bedroom than repairs on a run-down house. But both Jesse and Imogen have painful pasts, and the negative feelings that go with them. They’ll both have to decide if they are rushing things, and if they’re willing to risk their guarded hearts.

I actually came across the fourth book in this series while browsing books, and decided I wanted to read it. To get the whole picture, I started with Hammered first. It was an okay read. I actually liked most of it with only a few irritations. Our heroine, Imogen, was a forty year old divorcee. She was sweet and threw some sass. I had a feeling, though she could really be feisty if she wanted. Her ex left her with a lot of insecurities, so she had trouble with body image and confidence. I’ve had my own body image issues, so I understood where she was coming from with that. At least she realized that those issues stemmed from the way her ex treated her. What I didn’t like was what felt like the constant focus her insecurities got. By the three quarter mark, I was tired of hearing the same repeated thing, including Jesse’s reassurances. I think I would have liked seeing more of her working through her low self-esteem and seeing the progress from that instead. Jesse was our hero and he was pretty dreamy. Sexy, funny, generous, kind, and hard-working, he was swoon-worthy. He was very understanding and fiercely gentle in how he treated Imogen and her insecurities, giving her all the reassurances she needed as well as showing her physically. I wish we could have gotten more, though. Maybe his POV, but definitely more of his life away from Imogen. I loved Jesse and Imogen together. Their banter was fun and gradually grew sexier and sexier, ramping up the anticipation and heat with each encounter. Their intimate scenes were hot, passionate, and deeper than just the physical. Overall, this was a nice, quick read. I liked the story and writing style. Supporting cast was interesting and brought a more familial feel to the relationships. I really only disliked the constant talk of insecurities and that I wanted more Jesse. I do believe I’ll continue the series because I’m extremely interested in James’s story.
Easy reading. Grateful for something other than the young, virginal damsel and the normal hero Entertaining. Still have the hunky man and the woman has been around the block with some real world experience.
The author can certainly write but the speed at which construction happened was just too unbelievable like she had watched too many episodes of this old house. They sure did drink a crap load of wine…were they a bunch of winos? The main sex scene went on for freakin ever, I just got bored with it. No to this one.
I was very entertained by the meet-cute. Jesse and Imogen definitely have some insta-lust. It was nice to read a story with older MCs. I found all of Imogen’s insecurities relatable. Jesse was very sweet and giving throughout the whole book. Imogen had many times where she messed things up, but was more than willing to do the work to fix things. It took a while for her to realize that she was worth the effort that Jesse was showing her. This was a really nice book, but I felt it lacked something not having Jesse’s POV. The way Jesse and Imogen left things makes me feel like this is a HFN rather than a HEA. But, it’s probably more a HFN that they will build on to make a HEA. I’m curious enough about the other characters to check out the next one.
I really enjoyed this book. Parts of it made me laugh out loud while others made me sigh or want to scream. Can’t wait to pick up others by this author!
As usual Jasinda put out another great book. Well done
LOVED THIS STORY!!!!! Can’t wait for Audra’s story.
Jacinda delivers with great characters, plenty of steamy romance and a very happy ending!
I seem to like all books by Jasinda Wilder!
Loved the characters. Love funny romantic stories.
