Halton is the sixth novel in the Vested Interest series. It can be read as a standalone. Halton was a sweet, romantic and a little emotional novel. The epilogue was the perfect and adorable ending of this book. I really loved Halton, just like I loved every book of the Vested Interest series. The writing, the characters and the emotions in this series are so good.
Fee is smart, honest, reliable, kind hearted and lonely. She didn’t have the best marriage and she’s getting a divorce now. She had given up a lot for her husband. Fee is lost at the beginning, but she’s ready to fight. She is in need of an attorney and she thinks Halton would be perfect for that job.
Halton is determined, protective and smart. He’s an attorney. He fights hard to win for his clients. Halton is rude and driven when it’s about his clients. He never gets personal with his clients. Things are different with Fee. Halton will get personal with her. He loves spending time with Fee and taking care of her.
Halton and Fee are so good and beautiful together. They slowly grow closer to each other, but the progress was good. Fee becomes stronger because of Halton. Halton will finally find real love with Fee.
The BAM family appears sometimes. I love that family. I adore every man, woman and couple. They are all supportive. They have amazing friendships. There are some people who I would love to get their own book. I really hope the Vested Interest series is not over yet!
Welcome to the BAM Brothers Hal! Hal is one of a kind… POOR GUY I love a good strong man that gets a little jealous at times… I love Hal and welcome him to be an official BAM MAN!
Halton Smithers is the best fictional lawyer I have ever read! Melanie Moreland has a way of creating good characters that have a mind of a romantic. Halton and Fee are the most romantic couple ever! He helps her facing her horrid ex-husband and in the process fall in love completely and it is so sweet to see how she breaks his walls and come to his heart.
Ms. Moreland writing is strong and at the same time sweet and she can create brooding characters like no-one ever could. Halton is crude without feelings and at the end he is the ultimate romance hero. I just loved this book!!
Halton has a jaded heart. Jaded by his own past and those of the clients he fights to avenge. Love is not real to him. Love is not in his future. One night, when confronted by someone seeking to be his client, they also may help him open the door to a whole new world he thought would never exist for him. Hal is incredibly hot while also proving to be incredibly deep. You will want him to ravage you while in turn you will want to take him into your arms and show him all the possibilities that love can hold. A beautiful and complex man whose story will warm your soul.

#6 in series but he’s not one easily forgotten! Halton and Fiona are a couple that deserve their HEA. I love the angst of the characters past moulding them to who they are and watching them unfold to perfection.
Halton: Vested Interest #6 by Melanie Moreland is just the Summer read you need to sink your teeth into.
Moreland has a way of drawing you in and creating characters with depth.
I loved Halton and Fiona’s story and the way Moreland lets it unfold without feeling rushed.
And Rene will have you laughing out loud.
This is definitely a book packed with emotions and feels, but also with quick wit and laughter.
5 Stars
I’m always excited to see a new book from this author, and her Vested Interest series is one of my favorites. I look forward to each new release, and the sixth book is no exception. The Boys of BAM have all settled down, so she now addresses characters who have had tangent connections to them. This story belongs to Halton (Hal), who has appeared briefly in past books, and Fiona (Fee). As always, the characters pop to life, and important secondary characters are as fleshed out as the two main characters. I absolutely loved Rene. His rapport with Hal was fun to read. Ms. Moreland is the queen of the slow-build romance, and I always enjoy watching the characters come to their realizations in their own time (even though the readers can see it building). I’m not sure who is left in the BAM universe, but I do hope she keeps finding hunky guys and the smart girls who love them to write about! This review was written based on a complimentary pre-release digital ARC of the book.
Halton is the 6th book in the Vested interest series. Halton is a family law attorney who doesn’t believe in love. Fiona was just left by her cheating husband. Hal is her husbands enemy, who better to be her divorce lawyer. Fee becomes so much more than a client, but will Hal ever learn to take a chance on love? I absolutely loved Hal and Fee’s story. I really loved Hal’s assistant and right hand man Rene! I can’t wait to see what’s next!
This is Book 6 of the Vested Interest Series by Melanie Moreland and let me tell you it just keeps getting better and better.
Halton and Fiona may have just taken the top spot for fave couples in the series. Both with emotional baggage the pair find friendship and a mutual understanding with each other. I love how big Fiona’s heart is as well as her patience despite al the problems she’s endured. Halton, serious and always brooding opened up to Fiona. He was sexy and sweet with a side of alpha. I love it. Oh my, that scene, you know what I’m talking about if you’ve read the book. I floved it!! Who needs a girls night out when you have Hal at home!?
I love how in each book at least 1 character from the previous series is mentioned. In this case many made a cameo and I loved every minute of it. Bravo Melanie! This book is outstanding and will have your readers falling in love!
Audiobook review:
Fee knocked Halton on his behind and I loved every minute of this audiobook. Watching him fall was the best because it took him so long to even see it. Maxine and John brought this couples story to life with another amazing performance! A must read!!
Oh Halton! What a nice addition to the BAM family! Each man’s story brings out all the feels for me which makes this entire series one of my favorites of all time. I’ve said in previous reviews that I would be hard pressed to pick a favorite because I love them all and now it’s even harder since she added Halton to the mix. I read the first 3 books in this series over a period of 5 days because I couldn’t put them down. I love Melanie’s style of writing because it’s emotional, deep, interesting, intriguing — everything I look for and want in the contemporary romance genre. And let me tell you, Halton does not disappoint — this is another deeply emotional ride about a man who feels unworthy to be loved and incapable of returning that love so be prepared to have all the feels that the other books have given you! And what can I say about Fiona–she is his perfect companion throughout this book. I love this BAM family and as I’ve said in past reviews, I want to be a part of it! 10+ stars as always!
Wow – once again Melanie Moreland adds another hot and sexy man into the Vested Interest group. We have all known Hal as the hard edged attorney who takes no prisoners and always fights to win, but we have never seen his softer side. When a brief encounter with his arch rival’s wife comes into play Fiona (Fee) takes Hal into uncharted waters. But can she soften his rough exterior and grab hold of his heart? Can Hal fight for her in and out of the courtroom? Beautifully written and emotionally driven. Once I started it I could not put it down. Five stars are not enough!!
At the end of every MM book, I think this one is my new favorite. I’m starting to feel like a broken record (and a little bit like I’ve done Richard some disservice by replacing him so often).
Halton was a beast of a lawyer in Van so I was sooooooo excited for his story. What made him such a formidable opponent? Why is he so fierce? Well, his story was a wild ride. I loved learning everything about him. And the woman that brings him to his knees? She’s strong, intelligent, inspiring. She’s fiercer than Hal and I wasn’t even sure that was possible.
I absolutely love the men of BAM. I love how they drop everything when someone in their family needs something. I love how tight this crew is. I’m already impatiently, anxiously awaiting the next BAM book!!
Book: Halton (Vested Interest book 6)
Author: Melanie Moreland
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release date: June 27, 2019
Rating: STARS!
My new favorite by Melanie Moreland.
The sixth book in the Vested Interest series, Halton can be read as a stand-alone.
Hal is a sexy attorney, who fights for those who needs it most. He’s a good guy. But he doesn’t see himself as one. He’s not into relationships and think he’s incapable of love. Hal is a sexy brooding Alpha male. Love him.
Fiona needs Halton’s service to divorce her soon-to-be ex husband and Hal is the best and hates Scott as much as she does. Fee was a strong heroine. Even if she didn’t see herself as strong.
Love everything about this book. The connection between Fee and Hal was good. Their chemistry was sexy.
Love seeing the men of BAM and all the wonderful characters of the past books.
Halton is the sixth book in the Vested Interest Series. It can be read as a standalone. The story is well written, it had some suspense and emotion. Halton or Hal as he likes being called is a hard a$$ lawyer, he fights his cases for the right reason. Fiona is the wife of his fellow lawyer nemesis and she’s seeking his help. Add in Rene, who’s so comical. I think Hal has pushed Reid out of my favorite character in this series. I loved him! I liked that we get to see past characters too. I’ve loved all the stories and characters in this series that I recommend you starting the series at the beginning. You won’t want to miss the original BAM boys
