Ok Halo is probably my favorite out of all the guys so far! Between the amazing chemistry with Tara, the suspense, the secrets…and of course he’s freaking sexy. Great writing. Great back setting. Honestly the whole series to date has be fantastic!
“Halo” (K19 Security Solutions Book 8) by Heather Slade is a fantastic read. I loved Knox and Tara’s story. This is another great addition to this series. I loved catching up with so many of my favorite characters. This story is packed with romance, passion, suspense, entertaining characters, twists, and more. I can’t wait to see what happens next in “Tackle”. Highly recommend to all fans of romance, suspense, and series.
We are back to the K19 Solutions – a group I really like! Halo (Ben Knox Clarkson) was in a small plane crash with several other K19 personnel. He survived, but his outlook on life changed a bit as a result of that incident that followed on the tail of a kidnapping by terrorists. When asked by Kade to find Tara (Tara Emsworth), the friend of Kade’s daughter Quinn, Halo took on the mission and headed to New York and then Italy. Halo and Tara (incognito as Catarina Bene-detto) found one another at a vineyard in Tuscany (that is the centerpiece of another book by Ms. Slade). Both were under assumed names and/or jobs, but their chemistry was off the wall and they each filled a need in the other. Despite the deceptions, there was a lot of intrigue and surprises along the way. I thoroughly enjoyed this wonderful tale by Ms. Slade and am looking forward to the next book in this series!
Love, Intrigue and action takes us to the lush vineyards of Italy. The scene building in this novel makes me feel as though I have been transported there! Halo has recovered from his plane crap injuries and has taken on an assignment. Find Tara and hopefully her father. He finds her at a winery where She has made a new friend and has agreed to help out in the tasting room at the winery that makes some of her favorite wines. Tara is looking for her father and is unaware of the intrigue her father is mixed up in and has no clue that she is about to get wrapped into it. There is a real connection between Tara and Halo and it is sweet to see their relationship grow. Just the right amount of action and intrigue. This is a great addition to the K19 series. Loved catching up with old friends! Oh.. and I may need that White Bean and Prosciutto Bruschetta recipe. I could almost taste it!

An outstanding story filled with vivid descriptions, intense suspense, and beautiful romance. I, as the reader, felt like I was transported to Italy to view the spectacular scenery. Knox “Halo” Clarkson survived a kidnapping and plane crash was tasked with finding Tara Emsworth. Tara survived a kidnapping herself, and now was trying to find her runaway dad in Italy. Halo stumbles upon Catarina Benedetto, aka Tara Emsworth at a winery in Italy. Their attraction grew, but could it last based on hidden identities? The plot, filled with intrigue, mysteries, and surprises, flowed smoothly. The characters had flaws making them more real, and they developed throughout the story. I loved the book and highly recommend it.

Halo is Book 8 in the K10 Security Solutions Series and is a really good addition to this group of books. The plot is well written, interesting, has lots of mystery and romance. Knox Clarkston is a hot and sexy hero who wants to do what it takes to bring in the bad guy even if it cost him Tara Emsworth. There is a lot to unravel in this story where there are more questions than answers and plenty of heartbreak. The hero is strong and sexy and the heroine is a good balance for him. It was fun getting to go along with Halo and Tara’s love story.
Halo is the story of Knox, aka Halo, who is being wooed by the K19 security agency to come on board. Following a plane crash, Knox is hesitant to sign on. He is asked by a friend to locate a missing woman, as a personal favor. Halo finds himself in Italy where he accidentally stumbles on to Tara, the missing woman.
With the Tuscan backdrop, the author weaves a tale of corruption and art fraud with ties to the underworld. As Halo and Tara grow closer, broken promises and distrust will sever a budding romance. The winding and twisted conclusion will have you cheering for the good guys. Rest assured that the author delivers an HEA ending bringing this 5-star read to a satisfying end!
The guys are at it again and this time having survived when they shouldn’t have they have decided to embrace life. Well embrace it he does. Now he finds himself stuck between reaching out and not wasting a moment and fighting to keep his eye on his assignment. Now he has to fight between heart and evidence. She’s been blindsided by those she thought were her best friends and problems with her father. Alone and in a place where she hopes to connect with him she not only finds a kindred spirit she may have found the man of her dreams. Now all they have to do is work out all the bugs so their hearts can be healed. As usual this author brings us action, steam and of course suspense. Loved it
I thought that this book was just so good. Halo and Tara’s story had me fully on edge of my seat and feeling invested in the characters, couple and the story being told. I loved the strength of this couple’s attraction and the wonderful chemistry that they shared. The very well written and clever storyline is comprised of a complex blend of action, excitement, danger, suspense, drama, emotions, turmoil and heat. An all around great five star book in a can always be counted on thrilling series. I am electing to post a independent, impartial review.
This is Book 8 of K19 Security Solutions
This is the story of Halo & Tara. Halo has been offered to join K19, but he feels he isn’t ready. He does do freelance work for them. Tara just wants to find her father. She’s told to go to Italy where he is, but she can’t find him. Halo gets hired by K19 to find her. He’s told she’s went missing by her best friends who are tied to the men in K19. He actually finds her by accident. The attraction is instantaneous between them. There is a lesson to be told in this story about trust and accusations. Never accuse someone that they’ve done something wrong without knowing for sure. Don’t let that trust go unless it’s proven. Mistakes are made on both their ends. That is the base of this story. Many things happen throughout this book. It has a great storyline. It’s steamy, lots of action, a lot of misunderstandings, but in the end it’s an HEA. Again, Heather Slade doesn’t disappoint. Every story I read of hers, I get sucked in because her writing is outstanding. The next book can’t come soon enough for me.
This is a great love story between a CIA officer named Halo who goes undercover to investigate a young woman named Tara to find out what she knows about her father’s possible criminal activities and possible connection to the mafia (and if she is involved). Tara ends up running to Italy to hide and takes.a job with a winery. When Halo shows up, he and Tara fall in love. I love how the author wrote about wine, food, art, and Italy. She must have done a lot of research and her knowledge shows. I love having mysteries to solve and also love HEA’s and epilogues, so I highly recommend this book!

A little bit of everything
So this book had a bit of suspense, a bit of Italian romance, a bit of friendship and a whole lot of secrets.
That Knox was trying to find Tara’s crime accused father should have been a huge stumbling block for this relationship. But although this was revealed early on and each still kept secrets while continuing with the relationship meant the kicker in the story would be something else. And it was each MC’s insecurity that had to be overcome in the end. Even though the personal journey for each was emotional, I did find their relationship to be surface level only and weren’t as invested in the outcome as I thought I would be. Both let each other off easy… And Tara let her friends off easy as well. And that did not sit well with me.

This book left me breathless!
Halo is just getting his head back in the game after nearly dying in a plane crash when he’s tasked with tracking down the missing Tara, one of the Tribe of Five, a tightly-knit group of young women that includes several who are romantically involved with his associates on the K19 team.
Tara feels she’s the least appreciated among her tribe, so when her father goes missing, she follows his trail to Europe, finally landing in Italy. When Halo tracks her down (at a winery that we’re already very familiar with), the sparks fly instantly between these two and it’s obvious to everyone who sees them that they belong together. If only there weren’t so many secrets between them!
I loved the way their romance grew against the backdrop of finding out just what’s going on with her father, and I really enjoyed watching how the author deftly wove this investigation in and around the mystery that was presented in Grinded. (The timeline of this story runs concurrent with that of Miles and Pia’s story.) I adored Tara and she really blossoms in this story. Halo was a perfectly dashing hero (except that little lack of trust issue that he eventually gets over).
The HEA is so right for this couple, so satisfying, and I was happy to see justice served well. Also loved the sneaky little clues into Tackle’s story that the author sprinkled here and there, although the worst part of that is having to wait until that book is published.
The K19 crew and all the connected teams make up a world that I love to visit as often as I can. These well-developed heroes feel so genuine and each story just vibrates with authenticity. Halo is an exceptional addition to the series, and I recommend it wholeheartedly. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
