Massive world tours. Over a hundred million albums sold. Groupies galore.Every day is a party for Viper and the guys of TBD, the biggest rock band in the world. But it all comes to a screeching halt when the lead singer walks out of the studio one day and never comes back. Ear-blistering vocals. Butchered lyrics. Fame chasers. After months of lackluster auditions, Viper, the lead guitarist and … lead guitarist and resident bad boy of the group, is ready to find solace in the bottom of a bottle. Time’s running out and the pressure’s on to find a new singer, but it isn’t until an angel walks through the door that the band’s prayers are answered.
Charismatic. Talented. Magic behind the mic. Halo is everything they’ve been looking for.
With a voice to match his stunning good looks, it isn’t long before Viper’s taking notice. But there are several reasons this is a bad idea:
1.Interpersonal relationships in the band are discouraged
2.Viper has already broken rule #1—big mistake
3.Halo is straight
Too bad Viper’s body isn’t listening to his head—at least not the one on his shoulders. But you can’t fake chemistry, not onstage and certainly not off it, and Viper and Halo? They have it in spades.
As both men try to resist the fire blazing between them, and the band is forced to reinvent themselves, it’ll be a complicated rise back to the top. But from the ashes of what was, something beautiful is born. Something better. And when the world finally sees Halo stretch his wings, they’ll discover what it’s like to fall for an angel.

Good God. Is there a freezer some where that I can climb into? This book is SO HOT.
I LOVE m/m romances where one of the characters doesn’t realize that they like men.
Halo is just adorable. I love his character. I was really able to visualize him and what he is like. He is so naive walking into his tryout for lead singer of one of the biggest bands.
Viper is kind of a loveable jerk, jaded by a history of being on tour and failed past relationships. Their chemistry is offff the charts.
I am dying to see where this story goes. It leaves you wanting more on the easiest of cliffhangers.

Ok. I want my own Halo and Viper.
No, seriously.
If I could have my own Halo and Viper all to myself I’d be a very, VERY, happy camper. These two are kind of everything and this is just the first book we get of them. There are more coming and that means we get to find out all the things about them, but what I’ve seen thus far…I adore. Viper is all kinds of blunt, sarcastic, cynical and oozes sex appeal like crazy. But behind all of that is a sincerity that most miss and a really good man on top of it. Halo is laid back, sweet and though young, has a sense of self and maturity that draws you in because you know there is so much more to him than meets the eye.
Viper and Halo’s journey, thus far, is all kinds of delicious, sensuous goodness. The music is their base, but the sexual chemistry between them is nuclear. A simple look between them and sparks start flying. Their dance has been…not so much push/pull, but a deliberate one, like a really tense and sexually charged tango, where both are trying to figure out just what they want, from themselves and each other and I’m definitely looking forward to seeing where this particular dance takes them because it’s gonna be good!
I’m a total #Fangirl of these two authors separately, they are amazing, and together? Well, they are simply more. The writing is seamless and engaging and you can feel just how much fun they had bringing this story and these characters to life. I adored Viper and Halo, but I’m all about getting to know Killian, Slade and Jagger more, along with Imogen ~ who I do hope we get more of ~ loved them all and cannot wait to get my hands on the next book!

Halo by Ella Frank and Brooks Blaine is book number one in the Fallen Angel series. This is Halo and Viper’s story. Wow! I started this book late at night and couldn’t put it down.
I loved how the authors incorporated an entertaining story with so much emotion between the characters. The interaction, chemistry, and sexually tension between Halo and Viper was off the charts. The ending was more a HFN ending than a cliff hanger. The next books in the Fallen Angel series which continues Halo and Viper’s story is coming March 25 and April 25.
I don’t normally read series that continue but these two authors have me hooked. It’s amazing to me how they are so good with putting words down where you feel the characters’ emotions, you can visualize the scenes, and you feel like the characters are your friends plus they don’t make you wait too long for the next book in the series. FYI, contains mature content. This is a MM romance. Kindle Unlimited Subscription
4.5 stars!! HOLY SMOKES!! Ella Frank and Brooke Blaine not only know how to write an extremely engrossing story that grabs you from page GO, but these two ladies also know how to write a story that will have you fanning yourself all throughout!! What a sexy, steamy, and all around wonderful read Halo is!! Wow!! I could not put this book down from the time I started reading it. And although Halo is an entirely separate series, it does have a connection to Brooke Blaine’s South Haven series, which I highly recommend you read as well.
Halo is book 1 in the Fallen Angel series and it focuses on you guessed it… Halo, who is a young, gorgeous, and extremely talented young singer/musician, who is trying to become the new frontman for the band TBD, and Viper, the super sexy lead guitarist of TBD. TBD is dealing with the fallout from having its original lead singer leave the band, and in walks Halo, thanks to the invitation of Killian, the group’s bassist, to audition for the spot. Well, well, well…as soon as Viper sets his sights on Halo…let’s just say the story takes off into a whole other level of hotness!! The cat and mouse game between Viper and Halo is extremely enjoyable to follow, and the chemistry between these two jumps off the pages at you.
Honestly, this is one of the best starts to a series that I have ever read. I cannot wait for the next book in this series, because not only are Viper and Halo just all around wonderful characters, but so are the rest of the band members, Killian, Jagger and Slade. I cannot wait to return to this series, and I hope the other guys have their stories told as well. So…waiting patiently, but not so patiently for the next book!!!
Ella Frank and Brooke Blaine. Ladies. What have you done to me?!?!? I devoured this delicious read in one sitting. This is not your typical rock star romance read. It is so much more. Halo is book 1 in the Fallen Angel Trilogy. TBD is one of the biggest rock bands in the world. They have sold out arenas, sold a hundred million albums… They are on top of the world. Until one day that world comes crashing down when their lead singer, Trent, abandons them without a word. They are scrambling to replace the talented and much loved lead singer, but are struggling to find that perfect person…until Halo walks into their studio all innocence, sex and raw talent. Resident broody, bad boy and guitarist, Viper, is not taking Trent’s unexpected departure well. He feels the pressure by fans and music execs to find a replacement. Viper is instantly drawn to Halo..he is not only gorgeous, but magnetic and superbly talented. Will their die hard fans accept this fair haired boy or will it spell the end for TBD? Ella and Brooke have created the perfect mix of music, angst, slow-burn and sizzle. The secondary characters are a treat and their banter is fantastic. But the spark between Halo and Viper is pure fire. This book ends in a cliffy, but don’t worry, Book 2, Viper’s book will be out in March. I will be counting down the days!
3.5*
I was quite excited when I heard Ella Frank and Brooke Blaine were jumping back into the cowriting pool to bring us more mm goodness! A rock star romance? Yes please! Gay for you? Hell yes please! And then when they revealed the cover…sweet Lord above, I was here for it.
Unfortunately, though, while I adored Halo the character, I can’t necessarily say the same about the book itself. And that pains me- because I really expected, and wanted, to love this one. But frustratingly enough, my expectations have sadly been letting me down lately. Sometimes I don’t know what it is exactly about a book that makes me not connect with it, but in this case I do know…and in this case it was Viper.
I’ll probably catch some slack for this, but I found Viper to be a little predatory. Right from the minute he sets his eyes on Halo, he wants him. And while that’s not necessarily a bad thing, I didn’t like how he went about his “pursuit” of Halo. Here’s Halo, this young, straight, up and coming star who’s just landed his dream job as the lead singer of one of the hottest bands out there, having to deal with these unexpected advances from his older, gay bandmate. A lot of the situations Viper put him in just made me uncomfortable, and I had a hard time with his actions.
This is not to say I didn’t enjoy the book, because I did. I liked seeing the inner workings of the band and getting to know the members. I really liked Halo’s relationship with his sister. I’m just not completely sold on Viper yet. I’m looking forward to what’s to come, though, to see how things evolve between them, and with the band.
Dear sweet God…I literally think I’m in hotness overload. Halo and Viper are PERFECTION!!
Wow, just wow, these two did it again. Halo by Ella Frank and Brooke Blaine is the first book in their brand new Fallen Angels Series.
Meet Viper, Halo, Killian, Jagger and Slade aka rock gods. This is Halo and Viper’s story. The band needs a new leadsinger and Halo gets chosen, he could be their new voice. He’s a huge fan and had never dreamt of to playing with the musicians, nor becoming a member of their band. He’s starstruck and I get him. I know exactly how he feels.
Viper is a rocker with rough edges. He has seen and lived through a lot. He seems a bit jaded but when Halo shows up his interest is piqued, it atkes him exactly one look and he knows what he wants. The only problem, Halo is straight as they come.
Halo is a scorching hot read, with sizzling and through the roof high chemistry between the maincharacters. I started reading and it took exactly one chapter and it was insta-love between Fallen Angel and myself. I read the book, cover to cover in one sitting on the edge of my seat. I simply couldn’t put it down. Halo and Viper’s story is a bit like Logan and Tate’s – my absolutely favorite story by the author. They stole my heart and I really, really can’t wait to read more about the men.
Halo is a rockstar romance, written in a dual POV, a fantastic read and I wish I could give more than 5 stars.
Halo – Fallen Angel book 1.
Honestly I believe for me that this is the best that Brooke and Ella have written together… They have outdone themselves .
When the rock band TBD needed a new front man Halo was invited to try out .
The band members are Killian ,Slade and Jager and Viper .
Viper is the lead guitarist he comes off as cynical says what he means straight out .
He see’s Halo he watches him can’t believe how good Halo is, he calls him Angel as he is beautiful to look at very angelic ..everything Viper wants …
Halo was in ecstasy while performing for the band, his performance was perfect and his confidence was shining..
Viper was constantly watching Halo / Angel- their eyes locked .
Halo punches out his own feel of the words Viper wrote ..
This book is sinfully sexy .
Lust , they both are lusting after each other even though Viper is gay and Halo say’s he is straight !
They are both radiating sex, the tension is electric and such a slow burn and sensual .
I fell into the pages and didn’t stop till I finished .
You can feel the tension between them and you find that your inside the pages seeing and breathing their air .
Beautifully written as usual .
Cannot wait for the second book in this trilogy to see the next instalment of their lives .
I cannot praise this book enough..
5 Stars!
Halo is book one in the Fallen Angel series by Ella Frank and Brooke Blaine and as collabs go, this is one of the best. Their styles mesh so seamlessly that it’s nearly impossible to determine who of them wrote what. Also, it’s GFY, one of my favorite tropes ever, and I loved how natural and realistic the progression of it was, which is not all that surprising (Remember Try? LOL)
Frankly, I wasn’t too certain of Viper at first. He was so gruff and I just wasn’t sure I was going to like him, I even told my co-blogger about this, but he won me over after he started defending and supporting Halo. It didn’t feel like he was doing it just because of the attraction he felt for Halo, too, so that endeared Viper to me and OMG, he had me swooning every time he called Halo ‘Angel’! I loved Halo from the start, he was just amazing. He just fit into the group so well, despite their age difference.
This book was a slow burn, which made sense since it’s GFY (see above), but Viper and Halo’s chemistry was off the charts and the UST was combustible. And while they ended it in a good place, I can’t wait to see how it’ll play out in the next two books.
I really liked Killian and the other two guys in their group, and I’m looking forward to seeing them again in the next books.
Overall, this was a fantastic start to the series! I’m thoroughly hooked and can’t wait for more of Viper, Halo and Fallen Angel soon!

Great new series
First book in anew series featuring rockers. This is the story of Halo and Viper. Halo s the new leader singer of band TBD. This after the lead singer walks from the band. Leaving the band with no lead singer till they interview Halo who is just what then band needs. This brings him and Viper together and the chemistry between then is very hot. Can’t wait for the next book to continue their stor
Holy hotcakes! What a smoldering rock band read this was. Halo and Viper set the pages on fire in the rebirth of what was previously the TBD band.
Halo blows the band away with his musical talents and amazing voice, earning him the front man’s position that the band has been struggling to find. Straight and sexy, yet intrigued by Viper’s sexual prowess and cocky attitude, Halo quickly earns Viper’s respect as a musician, but there’s something more lurking in Viper’s eyes that Halo doesn’t quite understand.
A slow sensual relationship develops between the two that will have you begging for more. And more you will get with the next Fallen Angel installment that continues to follow these two, and I for one cannot wait to get my hands on it.
What’s not to love about a potential new lead singer who has the looks of an angel and the stage presence and charisma that could tempt even the most innocent…add in one deliciously devilish lead guitarist and what readers have are the two main characters in Ella Frank and Brooke Blaine’s newest release, Halo.
I’ve read quite a few books written by these two authors and let me tell you…when they team up for any story, especially a M/M read, readers can rest assure that the sexual attraction and tension they create will push the characters’ boundaries and force their hands in ways that they never imagined, which is exactly what happens between Halo and Viper in the first book in their Fallen Angel series.
It’s clear that Halo has no idea what he’s gotten himself into when Viper catches him in his crosshairs, but one thing is clear, Viper’s used to getting what he wants, not only because of his rockstar status, but also because he’s one heck of a flirt and as open and honest as someone could be, which means that despite Halo’s innocence and the fact that he’s straight, there’s something about the bad boy player that makes Halo desire things he never thought he would and it’s those uncontrollable ideas that both scare him and turn him on in an abundance of sinful ways.
The way Halo and Viper’s story unfolds is most definitely a slow burn, which is exactly how it should be given the dynamics between them as well as everything they stand to lose if something interferes with the new opportunities that Halo brings Viper and the rest of the band the world once knew as TBD. Halo’s music phenom status allows the group to reinvent themselves, to create a new sound – one that can restart their careers and keep them in the industry they love – but all that can change if they give into the temptation and lost they feel towards one another.
Halo and Viper’s story has only just started, and with how book one ends, it’s clear that they’ve barely begun to face the obstacles intent on preventing any connection they create from becoming anything long lasting. But Viper’s name does provide some insight into who he is and the fact he’ll fight like hell to hold onto the man he craves with his whole body and perhaps even his heart and soul.
4.5 Poison Apples
Oh my goodness, what a freaking amazing start to a series, this was one seriously HOT read. I love how these authors have the ability to make you fall in love with the characters at first sight (read). I loved the story of how and why we meet Halo and Viper it shows there is so much more to come. I am so excited for more from this series, a brilliant, hot rockstar MM read
Rockstar romance. Gay for you. That blisteringly hot sizzle that is so distinctively Ella Frank and Brooke Blaine. Just to name a few traits of this gorgeous book. Boy, was I excited for HALO, the first book in their new collaborative series, Fallen Angel to release! I had my hopes set up sooo high – and still these two extraordinarily talented ladies managed to wow me … again! Boy, did I love Halo and Viper together. And the fact that both guys are living the gloriously enigmatic rockstar life?? Mind-blowing and perfect. At least for this book worm.
Viper. Sarcastic. Blunt. Sex on two legs. And a soul so sincere, honest, real like nobody would expect – at least not from a famous rock star – rock god – like him.
Halo. Easy-going. Charming. Sweet. A young man hiding such a mature soul that you just know there’s so much more to discover about this man.
Viper and Halo. Delicious, intense attraction. Explosive chemistry. And a slow-burn feel to it that leaves goosebumps – at least where I’m concerned. Hidden looks. Simple touches. A deliberate push and pull that had me inwardly screaming for them both to get on it already – and on the other hand absolutely reveling in their sensual dance. Sigh.
Ella Frank and Brooke Blaine are both each a force to be reckoned with separately – but when they join forces…? There just are no words. Pure, passionate, unadulterated goodness. Viper and Halo will conquer reader’s hearts left and right – I just know it.
Holy Smokes batman! Halo and Viper are off the chart! Ashley @ Carolina Chic’s Read
Halo and Viper are a too hot to handle pair. The chemistry between these too is so hot you will not want to put this book down. Halo is trying so hard not to deny his feelings and Viper is all out there. Once they figure out that what to do with each other it is too hot to handle!
Cannot wait to see what happens in the next book!
Halo is the first book in the Fallen Angel series by one of my favorite writing duos, Ella Frank & Brooke Blaine. When I found out they were giving us another MM series I was thrilled. When I found out it was going to include rockstars, I was beyond excited. When I saw the cover, I knew I was going to be falling for an Angel.
Viper and his band TBD need a lead singer. Halo needs a band to notice his talent and want him. What he didn’t expect was that the band TBD would hire him as their next singer and that Viper would look at him like he wanted to strike. In the best of ways. Except Halo was straight, right?
Yes. No. Maybe. They were both fucked. Viper needed this to work. For the band. For their livelihood. He couldn’t fuck it up just because he wanted to corrupt this angel. Halo didn’t know what was going on in his head. Both of them. He has never looked at another man the way he looked at Viper. The man oozed sex appeal and it was damn tempting but he needed to focus. Which was different with Viper’s smartass mouth and fuckable lips.
I absolutely loved this book! It was all I expected and so much more. The sexual tension was killing me. In the most sinful of ways. Omg!!! I fell for Viper from the minute he opened his mouth. Probably because it’s a dirty one! And Halo, damn. He is one talented and sexy man. Together, their chemistry is hot. Their sexual tension is even hotter. I can’t wait for the next book, Viper. Thank God, Ella and Brooke aren’t making us wait for long.
Quotes:
Watching Halo was like poetry in motion.
“Oh, it would be messy, Angel. A sweaty, hot mess. And by the end of it, you’d want to do it all over again.”
“Careful, Angel. Your deviant side is showing.”
Reading this book was a no brainer for me since both authours are on my auto-one-click list. Halo has been on my radar ever since the Ladies mentioned co-authoring again.
The plot itself is awesome and I love how it’s connected to a solo book by Brooke Blaine. There two Ladies are Masters at blanding there bookworlds together to make it all Seem even more Real. On top of that, they perfect the art of writing together in a Way that makes it impossible to Tel that this is in fact written by two individuals.
And the characters…can I get a swooooon? Halo is so interesting with his talented ways not to mention the vulnerability with a touch of innocence thrown in for good measure. An Viper? I definitely wanted to give him a good smack a log of the time but there is without a doubt redeeming qualities even with him.
My only problem with this book is, that I ran out of pages in the end.
It’s been a while since I’ve read an m/m book and HOLY CRAP this was a great way to break me back in, this book was AMAZING. And the chemistry between Halo and Viper is off the charts! There’s something to be said about wanting something you can’t have, something forbidden. And not only was it HOT AS HELL, it was the build up of these characters and learning to love the differences between them. Viper is SO sexy, and dark and broody. And Halo is light and kind and has a great confidence about him once you start to peel back the layers. I loved the dynamic between them, and their banter is THE BEST. The foreplay, and build up was so good I would consider it a slow (but hot) burn for sure!
I love when I read a story that tests the limits of its characters. When their self doubt is so real that they battle within themselves to overcome their hidden desires they didn’t even know they had. Reading about someone who can be brave and vulnerable and just let go, now THAT is sexy. I couldn’t get enough of these guys in their rock star world, and I loved all of the other characters in the band as well. And the lyrics. OH the lyrics were so sexy and such a great way to portray how these two guys felt about the underlying passion that they clearly had for one another. I can’t recommend this book enough, and I can’t wait for book 2 because I definitely need more time with these two!
Oh yesss! This is soo hot and steamy! Halo and Viper slow burn these pages right up! There is such good chemistry between these two and they will leave you panting and begging for more…
