When a Halloween Party turns deadly, it falls to Hercule Poirots to unmask a murderer in Agatha Christie’s classic murder mystery, Hallowe’en Party. At a Halloween party, Joyce—a hostile thirteen-year-old—boasts that she once witnessed a murder. Difficult to figure out who did it.
If you usually enjoy Agatha Christie, you’ll like this one unless the deaths of children really bother you. Hercule Poirot comes off a cold hearted, but that’s nothing new.
I enjoyed the twists and turns of the plot and the characterization, but the conclusion was far fetched.
There is no better master of mystery than Agatha Christie. She is still the queen of this genre. One of her greatest accomplishments was Hercule Poirot. A master of deduction and a very sharp mind. Hallowe’en Party is one of many of her great talent as a writer.
A good Agatha Christie story for the days before Halloween. Hercule is such a character!
It’s a generally good outing for Poirot, though it comes a bit unglued around the edges in the last thirty or so pages. It’s entertaining. There are just loose ends and a few tenuous links that deflate the tension there. 5/10
I always love Agatha Christie. A very appropriate Halloween mystery. She never fails to entertain and bring enjoyment.
Loved this book; one of my favorite Agatha Christie books!!
not my favorite book from my favorite mystery writer. It’s extremely repetitive in the dialogues. Still good but not outstanding.
A classic Christie with a surprise ending.
She’s my favorite author!!!
Interesting. Loved it.
Kept my attention.
The death of a young girl by drowning in an apple bobbing tub creates the mystery around which all else is spun. Unable to believe that another child could be involved, the investigation soon spreads out to the adults who came and went to the Halloween Party.
Eventually, the facts crawl out if the tub and sit before us. Christie is too crafty a …
Agatha Christie is always a good read. This is an interesting and twisted tale of greed and murder.
Im a big fan of Agatha but this one was not one of my favorites. The story line was weak and took too long to reach the end. This would of been a good short story novel. Just my 2 cents worth of a great lady’s work.
No writes a classical mystery like Agatha Christie
Atmospheric and appropriate for a fall weather read. Great characters. Will keep you guessing.
I have read this book several time during my life. It is creepy because the murder involves a child.
Agatha Christie and Hercule Perot doesn’t get much better. Many suspects and clues but with the clues you can figure out who dunnit… One of the best.
Classic Agatha Christie
Tipical Agatha book. Liked it as always
