I really enjoyed this sweet and heartfelt romance. Brooke needs to take time off the grid to reevaluate her life after the heartbreaking end to her marriage. She rents a cabin in a small town expecting to be in seclusion. Instead she meets an adorable young girl and her sweet and sexy brother, Logan, who live in the cabin next door. They charm their way into her life, and help her find her true passion and learn to love again. This was a quick, heartwarming and sizzling romance that was made even better by Erin Mallon and Tim Paige’s flawless narration. They brought this story to life beautifully as they totally embodied these characters, easily making me care for them and cheer for their HEA.
Halfway Whole and Other Lies We Tell Ourselves
By: Alyssa Rose Ivy
Narrated by: Erin Mallon, Tim Paige
Alyssa Rose Ivy brings us a beautifully written story of second chances at love. Brooke has taken a lease for 6 months at a cabin, removing herself from the rat race. She is looking to reset her life after a bad break up and find a new direction for her life. She did not count on her neighbor, Logan. Logan is a sculptor, and not looking for a relationship. But once he met Brooke, he found every reason to help her out. This quick listen is full of the feels, the emotions and the passion. While short, it lets us understand Brooke’s pain and Logan’s ability to let her love again. It’s insta-love, but I fell for it! I love these short, well written stories and Ivy knows how to pull me in.
Narrated by the amazing team of Erin Mallon and Tim Paige, I knew this story was going to fly by and make me feel. Mallon and Paige have a talent for finding their character’s inner voices and bringing it out in the narration. They give their characters a feeling of realism and pull us into the story. Another amazing performance was heard by each of them.

Alyssa Rose Ivy finally delivers a contemporary romance release that’ll have you remembering why you love her hopelessly romantic outlook on love and life.
In Halfway Whole, ARI tells the story of a young woman ready to reset her life. Determined to be off grid and reeling from a broken heart, Brooke turns to small town Forrest Lake to find her path once again. Almost instantly and most unexpectedly love finds her by way of her neighbor and local artist, Logan. Logan wasn’t looking for love either. However fate intervenes and insta-chemistry takes over leaving these two falling.
My only objection to Halfway Whole was that I thought it felt a little rushed. In most of ARI’s books she takes time to develop her characters and build the angst and want, Halfway Whole was more of a insta-love book. If you are a fan of those, then you’ll have no problem. I just wanted more time to lapse in the beginning rather than a few days. I wanted to understand Brooke and her heartache more.
