Keep in mind I have read a lot of sport themed romance novels, especially football related. I love football in general so I am drawn to them. So I was very surprised when I got into Half Sac. This book took what I expected and flipped it around. There were so many curve balls coming from all directions I could never even attempt to guess the ending which was awesome! So many times I can figure out what’s going to happen way before I should and it takes the fun out of the book.
However Half Sac kept me guessing and I loved it. Blue Meyers is a special leading male, he has a sweet kind side but his A-Holeyness shines through in the best or worst ways, depending on how you think about it. So many times I became so frustrated with his actions that were fueled by his secrets. Though in the end and honestly throughout I loved him. Even when I was “mad” at him I loved him.
And not to be out done by her leading man. Noelle Jeffries held her own against that hulking football player. She wasn’t one to back down, and overcame a lot in regards to her feelings and relationship with blue. Her insecurities that arise throughout are so right on the nose for so many women, especially when they are/were in college.
Thia Finn wrings the emotions out of you without even trying. Her writing style is quite unique in my opinion. Looking forward to what is to come for this series!

Wow. It might take some time to process this, so I reserve the right to revise my review in the next few days. Won’t change the rating, though, because I definitely loved this book!
What’s not to love? Finn gave me layered characters that seemed so real, I felt like I could find them in my college yearbook. She gave me a story unlike any other I’ve read in contemporary romance, and she did it without being preachy or heavy-handed. She gave me chuckles and snickers, sighs and swoons, outrage and encouragement.
Highly recommended!!
I have always been a fan of the sport romance books so was looking forward to reading this latest book from Thia Finn. Blue’s character is one I found hard to like at the start of this book and on occasion found myself wanting to jump through my Kindle and shake some sense into this arrogant and selfish guy, however in saying that by the end of his story my opinion completely changed and I fell in love. Blue and Noelle’s story is slightly different and the author has taken a different route to the norm that we would see in romance books and this gives it not only a fresh approach but shows these delicate themes from another perspective. This book is full of drama, secrets, suspense and not to mention some life altering moments. One click this book and take the journey with Blue and Noelle as their romance blossoms and self discoveries are made.
I really thought this would be the typical jock and girl story but it is anything but that. He’s called Half Sac for a reason and it has nothing to o with him playing ball. She has been a cheerleader and in the world of sports as a way to pay for school. These two find each other and no it isn’t a whirlwind romance but starts as something more and stretches them both in so many directions. A true and hard lesson slaps them and derails all that could have been.
This is a great and emotional story. It isn’t what you think but the author has a way of keeping you tuned in to the last line. It’s a story that begs to be told and will twist you up in all kinds of ways.
TOUCHDOWN! This reader is going wild!
Are you looking for a sexy alpha football player that will do unspeakable things to you, then Blue is your man. He has the kind personality that will have you in stitches from laughing so hard, he says what he thinks and I love that about him. We deal with serious matters throughout the book and it makes it all that more realistic. Blue has no idea what he’s in for when he gets closer Noelle, a strong confident woman that will stand up for what she believes in. At times I seriously what to knock Blue out and while we’re at it Maddie as well, she is a work of art. I give Noelle a lot of credit for handling situations the way she does. When Blue opens himself emotionally it’s a tear jerker moment and absolutely beautiful. I’m on the fence with Timms, there’s something about him that has be wanting to know more. He keeps me on my toes trying to figure him out, there’s more to this man then meets the eye. There are moments where everything makes sense but at the same time I didn’t see what’s straight ahead and I’m gasping in shock. The story flowed beautifully and I was happily seated watching the story unfold cheering the entire time. There’s so much more I want to say but I’m not one to drop spoilers. You NEED to read this book, it is a MUST read. This is my unbiased and voluntary review.
