I love reading a book that has me so involved I don’t want to put it down. Half Moon Holler is just such a book. I fell in love with the small-town characters and the quaint little town itself. They are hardworking people who stick together through thick and thin and come out stronger as a community. I’m glad to know there are more books in the series.
Nate is not your usual Southern gentleman, but even though he is style-conscious and tats, his roots run deep in Half Moon. His story runs the gamut from humorous to heart-wrenching but it is a delightful ride. His unique POV and narrative style always allows the reader to know what’s going on.
He has some of the best one-liners I’ve had the privilege of reading. A man who saw himself as a lifelong bachelor, he is totally blindsided by a “long cool woman in a black dress” climbing out of his friend Bubba’s tow truck.
For Cassie, a wrong U-turn on her flight from her ex-fiancé turned out to be a very right turn in her life. Broken by her circumstances, she finds solace in the town of Half Moon and a leatherworking mechanic’s hospitality. However, her past isn’t done with her. Though chemistry is flaring the road for the couple is not smooth. I know from reading another book by this author, the unexpected twist is her specialty but so is humor. The Daisy Duke contest may be reason enough to read this book.
I highly recommend this book and can’t wait to dive into the next in the series. Grab a glass of sweet tea and settle in to feel the magic of the Holler.
Half Moon Holler by Taryn Bradley is the first book of her Half Moon series and I have to say this book surprised me of just how good it was. Who doesn’t love a damsel in distress (Prada) who took a wrong turn and lands in Nate’s office, her crooked boyfriend wanted by the feds, plus Rita Mae’s cafe which is straight from my childhood. Should I mention that Nathan has the best pets ever in Blue who can shift loyalties in seconds and of course Mr. Whiskers who loves whiskey so much that everyone needs sippy cups to keep him on the “wagon”. There are more citizens with each of their own quirks in the little town of Half Moon Hallow that’ll keep you in giggles through the entire book. Oh, did I mention that Nate’s Grandma Suze is a hippie artist who had me wishing that I could meet her.
Nothing much happens in Half Moon that Nathan owner of the auto repair shop plus a leather works business on the side and his best friend Bubba who with his sister have the only tow business. But when a Jaguar S-Type comes in with Bubba little does he know that Cassandra Jane Reimer (AKA Prada) will not only bring the car but also her fantastic pies but will show all the businesses in Half Moon that they are worth getting folks off the interstate to visit the town. He’ll offer his Love shack to stay in and possibly lose his heart to Prada/Cassie. But they’ll have to navigate the FBI who thinks Cassie has her ex’s gun running information but she had no idea that Paolo did for money. There will a trial once the feds find Cassie is found and a surprise ending but when she falls ill everyone in the town will rally to take care of her including finding her dad.
Trust me when I say I loved this book so much I already have the second one on my Kindle and hope that Ms. Bradley continues the series with the rest of
