Vietnam vet and former pro football player Wyatt Storme is bow-hunting in Missouri when he stumbles upon a hidden field of marijuana…and is attacked by a vicious dog and shot at by a sniper. He reports violent incident confidentially to the local Sheriff…who is murdered the next day. Storme believes there’s a connection and starts asking questions, unraveling a deadly conspiracy of corruption, … drug-trafficking and organized crime… and making himself someone that just about everybody wants dead.
The first novel in W.L. Ripley’s acclaimed Wyatt Storme series.
“As much joyful bashing as it is ‘Red Harvest’ on uppers, though completely innocent of Hammett’s dark vision. Fighting the good fight has seldom been so much atavistic fun
Kirkus Reviews
“Storme is one of my all-time favorite series characters, up there with Spenser and Dave Robicheaux,” Ace Atkins, NY Times bestselling author of “Robert B. Parker’s Wonderland.”

Love these books.
Great to have a great adventure without foul language or unnecessary sexual content. thank you so hard to find.
Read all in the series I could find. Kept me entertained!
I will definitely be reading more about Wyatt Storme’s adventures. Ripley has created a larger than life character, but grounds him to reality through humor and action packed occurrences. A former pro football player and army vet, Storme has all the makings of a modern day Robin Hood. I laughed and then hung onto the edge of my seat as Wyatt strives to solve the murders of two strangers he’s recently become acquainted with along with his sidekick Chick Easton, a Sam Elliot knock off if you ever could imagine one. A great read!
It was a good story and made me laugh at times.
Loved it! Great characters. Would love Storme and Chick on my team!
Thoroughly enjoyed the main characters in the book. Very fast paced and somewhat unexpected. Looking forward to another Storme adventure. Gotta love a good looking tough guy who has a need to make all things right.
Really enjoyed
I tried hard not to like the 2 main characters but I fell in love with both. What I most liked was the essential humanitarianism of both of them; their badinage was witty and spot-on, so self-deprecating I had to laugh out loud. I enjoyed their character development, and as the plot moved along and twist led to more twists, their true selves rang true: they were , without a doubt, the good guys. I’m ready for the next escapade of this ex-football player and military hero as he moves along with his renewed relationship with his current girlfriend.. hmmm, wonder if that will last, given all that went on in this book. I can’t wait to find out.
This is the best book I have read in a long time! The protagonists’ humorous banter is very entertaining. An excellent read and can’t wait to start another in this series.
I liked the main character. He reminds me of Jack Reacher somewhat.
A good read with plenty of action and intrigue
I really like this author. I’ll be looking for all his books from now on.
I totally enjoyed this book!
I’ll read more like it
Author uses a wide repertoire of visual images to create this action-packed book that exposes the never ending drama ofife as a cop.
What a great story with lots of action. The two main characters were enjoyable plus entertaining having witty personalities. As the story unfolded it was a real page-turning and unpredictable adventure in the world of crime. This author certainly knows how to make a great story come alive. Hope other books in the series will come my way at discounted prices!
