Vietnam vet and former pro football player Wyatt Storme is bow-hunting in Missouri when he stumbles upon a hidden field of marijuana…and is attacked by a vicious dog and shot at by a sniper. He reports violent incident confidentially to the local Sheriff…who is murdered the next day. Storme believes there’s a connection and starts asking questions, unraveling a deadly conspiracy of corruption, … drug-trafficking and organized crime… and making himself someone that just about everybody wants dead.
The first novel in W.L. Ripley’s acclaimed Wyatt Storme series.
“As much joyful bashing as it is ‘Red Harvest’ on uppers, though completely innocent of Hammett’s dark vision. Fighting the good fight has seldom been so much atavistic fun
Kirkus Reviews
“Storme is one of my all-time favorite series characters, up there with Spenser and Dave Robicheaux,” Ace Atkins, NY Times bestselling author of “Robert B. Parker’s Wonderland.”

Loved it! The two main characters were fun, and the dialogue was great, can’t wait to read the next.
Great book.
Very good book.
alll nighter
Didn’t want it to end
Hail Storme is a great action packed book for those looking for a book that packs a punch, or several of them. Every character is built for longevity, but even if there were no other books in the series, Hail Storme is a great standalone.
W.L. Ripely writes a great story that takes readers on q daring adventure that doesn’t slow down until the last page. Pick up this book and enjoy. I promise you will.
This book was an enjoyable read. Wyatt Storme is a mouthy Jack Reacher. Paired with an equally mouthy sidekick, Storme had me turning pages well into the night for the next grin, chuckle, or belly laugh.
Really great dialog.
Wn. Not a run of the mill bookA book I hated to put do
Quick easy read. Not your ordinary hero.
I found this book engaging and interesting. Highly recommend it. Loved the witty back and forth with the two main characters.
This was an exciting read. I didnt understand some references to Vietnam war. But it was explained.
I love the humor that the author infuses throughout the story!
Excellent book, would read more by this author.
As I read this book I thought Ripley was trying to be more “Jack Reacher” than Jack Reacher. The protagonist and his sidekick are Viet Nam vets suffering from PTSD in their own ways. The sidekick was no doubt written with Willem DaFoe in mind. When they are outnumbered by muscle-bound goons you know that only four or six are not enough to beat our heroes. The plot is somewhat predictable and surprises are telegraphed and expected but it is an enjoyable read and you will read along to see just how the heroes prevail.
Very easy read and was hard to put down. Action packed and enjoyable read.
Not comparable to other books. The author was very unique in his writing style, which made this a more enjoyable read.
You are my favorite. I love your books.
I would definitely read another Storme book. Loved the Dallas Cowboy references.
It is written more in the style of thoughts in stead of the normal flowing story. It took a few pages to get used to it, but it really adds to the story.
