Claire Wilds thinks she’s a completely normal girl in a completely normal world – until a vampire shows up at her front door and murders her father, the only family member she has left. Before the vampire can kill Claire as well, she is saved by an immortal who whisks her away fo Athana, a magical realm full of immortal beings who think Claire is the answer to their problems. Alone and confused, Claire reaches out to Jason, son of Achilles, for training, in the hopes that she might prove herself. But as Claire falls for Jason, sinister circumstances start looming over their heads. Along with their mortal friend Liz, Jason and Claire will have to overcome more obstacles than they’d ever dreamed possible.
This was the first book I’ve ever read by this author, and I was pleasantly surprised!! This is a paranormal romance that was unique and well thought out. I loved that Claire wasn’t raised an immortal from the beginning of her life, as you go through the course of the novel she learns to control her powers, along with the help of Jason and Liz. It was a very intriguing read, and I’m excited to continue the series.

The Adventure Begins
After Zeus has banned the gods from associating with mortals, Hades has a child by a mortal, the child is Claire. Trying to fix his mistake Hades sends his minions to grab her and bring her to hell so that he can destroy her before the gods find out. Claire’s journey is just the beginning of this first installment. She will be tested, trained, and hones to weld the powers she doesn’t know that she possesses. This tale has adventure, drama, action, betrayal, and a budding love interest that will keep you glued to the pages until the cliffhanger. I loved this fast-paced tale.

enjoyed this new YA series with a twist on Greek Mythology … interested to see where it goes
I am not very much familiar with Greek Mythology but after this, I really want to read more. It starts out right from the first chapter and is full of twists and turns.
CHARACTERS- I really liked the characters and am looking forward to getting to know them better and ride their journey. Claire, our female MC, is very much relatable & realistic. We don’t see too much of the side characters, except Liz, so I wanted to know more about them. They all sound quite interesting.
WORLD-BUILDING- Athana sounds amazing but since we get only Claire’s perspective, who isn’t familiar with it at all, we get to know only the things she’s told which wasn’t a lot.
NARRATION- the language and narration is pretty straight-forward and keeps you going. I loved the pacing and portrayal.
Thank you to the author for the readers copy. I loved it and would definitely recommend it to anyone who likes fantasy, romance or greek mythology retellings with twists

Fantastic job Erin, thanks for sharing this little jewel with us.
This book is not my usual reading material, but the author asked me to review it, so I gave it a go. This book is a solid YA modern fantasy novel focusing on Greek mythology. It does include some of my least favorite YA tropes, a few typos, and inaccurate information, but for a YA novel, it’s an engaging read.
