Only it seems like her past doesn’t want to let her go. As her old insecurities start to return in full force and lies grow bigger than ever, the only thing left is the hope that her broken heart will survive this time around.
Andrew Hill has been betrayed one too many times in the past. Cynical and cold-hearted, he closed off his heart for good and doesn’t plan on letting anybody in ever again. Especially women. But his heart doesn’t seem to care and starts beating faster every time a particular black-haired beauty gets in his way and puts him in his place.
He wants her body, not her heart. She tries to resist him, but the pull is too much.
They know they’re all wrong for each other, but some habits are too sweet to give up.

Jeanette and Andrew were amazing characters. They had me with them all the way through this journey of hearts. There was heat and passion, drama and past hurts, there was everything to pull me in and not let me go. I absolutely loved this story and I can’t wait for more!
“A habit. She’s become another one of my bad, bad habits, and I don’t want to give it up. I don’t want to give her up.”
This is my second book by Anna and I’m in love with her writing style. This one I read slower than the first book and don’t think for a second its because the book is boring or something like that. No, it’s just that I prefer Derek and Lia as a couple and for me their story was funnier and more interesting.
We first met Andrew and Jeanette in Lines, first book in Greyford High Series.
To be honest, at first I didn’t like Andrew very much in first book because his behavior to Amelia and other girls. Just like Anette says, he is an asshole, but deep inside he is just a broken boy who wants to be loved and he made me love him in this book.
On the other side I liked Anette in Lines and I knew that behind Ice Queen is hiding one insecure girl whit painful past. She needed someone to show her how beautiful she is and that she deserved to be loved. I’m glad that, that someone is Andrew and that they cured each other.
I really enjoyed reading Habits and now I can’t wait for third book and Brook & Max’s story. I looove Max.
Have you ever had a habit that you knew was disastrous? Something that you knew was wrong but it had never felt so right?
That is exactly what Andrew and Jeanette are for each other… disastrous, or at least that’s what everyone kept telling them. They both have dark stories in their past that continue to haunt them in their present. One night together and neither of their lives will ever be the same.
High school drama, family drama, secrets, lies, heartbreak, new friendships, and new love.
Habits has everything you’d expect in a highschool romance and so much more.
This story is realistic and an absolute page-turner. I liked these two characters when I was introduced to them in Lines, and now that I have read their story I love them that much more.
I highly recommend this series. (Habits can be read as a stand-alone but I would recommend reading Lines first)
I loved Andrew and Jeanette. Both were hurt in the past, both built emotional walls around themselves. The walls gave them the feeling of complete protection but.. Can you protect yourself when you meet the same lonely human? When you can see behind walls?
These two damaged characters were perfect for each other. They were intense and sexy. This story is real, heartbreaking and beautiful
I was so excited for Jeanette and Andrew’s story and Anna did not disappoint! From the first book, I knew that Andrew’s home life was not the best although he puts on a good front and that something happened to Jeanette to both spark her attitude and the move, and my questions were answered. While the attraction is obvious between the two, it seemed that Jeanette was in denial while Andrew was actually looking to give it a shot. I enjoyed that the book was able to show the journey of the two as a couple as well as their pasts and what brought them to be the people they became. In addition, I also liked that Anna included how they moved forward after the catalyst moment in the book. I definitely liked this story better than the first in the series, but ultimately I’m really anticipating Brook’s story and cannot wait to get my questions and concerns answered that were introduced in the first book.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Talk about two people that you never expected to be together because they were broken but still drawn to each other. Andrew and Jeanette has their own set of demons and shouldn’t be together but when together they made sense. It was a very complicated relationship and it wasn’t flowers and chocolates but these two made it work. They were fire and ice wrapped in one but when one needs he other hey are always there. Andrew tried to stay away but he couldn’t help it and Jeanette could no longer deny her feelings for him. They had some soul searching to do with some family issues but they came out on top as a couple. Jeanette’s twin, Max, was amazing and protective as always. The way he feels for his sister is priceless. I can’t wait for his HEA.
How can something so wrong feel so good?
Senior year.
Three girls. Three guys.
Secrets and lies.
Demons of past and present.
Old insecurities and new fears.
One more year left to pretend.
One more year to wreck it all.
The countdown begins.

Wow! Loved Andrew & Jeanette’s story! So real and emotional. Flawlessy written and heartfelt! Anna did a great job on writing and bringing out so many emotions! Great read!
Habits by Anna B. Doe
5++++ Stars
Unbelievable!! Breathtaking!! Wonderful! Captivating! Amazing! Emotional! Love!
I loved it so much! It is very well written. I didn’t want it to end! Can not wait to see whats next!
Highly recommend this series!
“No judgement.
No unnecessary questions or probing.
Just support and reassurance.
Just… love.”
Habits, book two of the Greyford High series by Anna B. Doe did not disappoint me at all, in fact, I liked it more that book one I think. I wasn’t a big fan of Andrew initially when I met him but after this story I am completely in love with him. Annette is amazing and strong, she tried for a fresh start but when her past kept coming back to haunt her she pushed through. Both Andrew and Annette has things that burned them in their past and together they faced those fears and moved forward together and I was so impressed. I love these two and the way their relationship developed. Its was beautiful and amazing and my heart is full because of them. Amazing job Anna!!! I definitely recommend this young adult with real world issues story.
I fell so hard for this book and these characters! This is a beautiful story that was beautifully written.
Both Andrew and Jeanette were introduced in Lines. Andrew is the alpha asshole that every girl wants but he is a one and done kind of guy.
Jeanette is cold to anyone and everyone and doesn’t allow anyone past her frozen walls.
In Habits, we learn more about what makes them act the way they do.
Both of these two are stubborn and they are both broken. They are holding onto a world of hurt all by themselves because of the choices they made. They are afraid to take risks because of their pasts.
These two are so frustrating at times and so delicate in other times. One minute I want to hug them and the next I want to strangle them. They both have such strong personalities.
One of the things I like about this series is the distinction between the characters. The couples are not carbon copies from book to book.
They each have their own personalities, their quirks, and the stories follow suit.
If you love young adult romance, you NEED to read this book!
There is something so delicious about reading about young love or even the lack of love. This is my second read of this author and while some of the things in her books shock the crap out of me and some hurt deep in old wounds, I’m loving it! This series and the emotionally damaged kids with their piece of shit families are crazy full of drama. Everything you could ever want in a book!!
Oh Jeanette is a feisty one that has quickly become my favorite of the group so far! You could feel the brokenness inside her flowing out onto each page. I felt so many different emotions just with Jeanette that I couldn’t help but cry, you guys know I’m emotional. This young woman whose soon to start her life outside of high school but is completely broken mess but decides to put everyone’s feelings before hers. (That part is like my life right this second.) I wanted to keep reading and reading because I needed to know the end of the story, I had to find out what was going on with her.
I didn’t think I would really like Andrew because in the first book he was a big dickbag and I knew he would be an asshole in this one too. What I didn’t expect was to be greeted by a completely different Andrew with certain people. I quickly fell hard for him and didn’t even care to look back.
I love this series and I’m nervous it’s coming to an end. Anna did an amazing job with this book and left me speechless at times! My heart feels each and every thing in this book and couldn’t put it down! Great job!
This second book in the Greyford High series focuses on Jeanette, twin sister of Max and aloof Ice Queen, and Andrew, hockey star and the schools resident playboy. Both have secrets in their past which have led them to be remote, unfeeling characters who keep others at arms length.
Oh boy, do I love damaged characters with a past! Revealing their secrets a layer at a time, searching for redeemable facets to their persona and wanting them to heal is a serious weakness of mine.
The author really delivers the goods with this book. The way Jeanette and Andrew circle each other, their sarcastic and witty banter, leading to their inevitable explosive relationship is brilliant to read. Neither wanting to let the other get too close; but being kindred spirits, it’s a given that they’ll end up falling for each other.
The twists and turns in the story kept me hooked until the very last word. Reading their HEA was a treat, and I could read it all again tomorrow. This series is turning into something great and I’m already impatient for the next book.
Back to Greyford High we go with Habits, the second book of Anna B. Doe’s newest series. Technically a standalone but since all the characters are first introduced in book one I highly suggest reading that first to understand all the dynamics and also because Lines is really good. Now it’s Jeanette and Andrew’s time to shine, two people who match each other in attitude and both with fortresses surrounding themselves to keep the rest of the world away. But what happens when one force meets its equal? Grab this book to find out.
I’m glad that Anna B. Doe picked these two for the second book. It was clear that both had something to hide and I wanted to get behind their cold exteriors to what lies beneath and boy was this story something else. The Ice Queen and the King of the Aholes. Interesting enough was how relatable and loveable both Jeanette and Andrew really were. Ever since moving to Greyford Jeanette has been so indifferent to everyone, but with Max on the hockey team and easily making friends, she started trying more for him and slowing excepting the group who quickly took them in. Andrew being one of them although to the world he could care less but Jeanette sees right through and always calls him out, which in turn starts their banter aka foreplay, no matter how they try to play that off they always are drawn to each other and adding to the flames until they combust.
As much as I liked the start to the series, I love how this part of the story is different and also much deeper. These issues are very real although seldom talked about and I applaud Anna B. Doe for going there, writing in such a beautiful way but never downplaying how broken the characters are or why that’s so significant. Behind the walls are two people running from demons that dictate their daily lives, taking one person going through something to recognize that in another but also knowing how to pull the other from the darkness and into the light. Anna B. Doe also played up another friendship a bit more with Brook and Jeanette, which is always amusing since they are so similar in attitude and usually don’t get along but something passed between them and I’m very curious how that will play out. All in all I absolutely loved Habits, I never wanted the story to end, and the fact that more is on the way has my excitement level only going up.
I LOVED this book!! Jeanette and Andrew are broken by their pasts and find solace in each other. The realness of these characters really launched this book for me. Anna B Doe writes what is really like in high school! Andrew is definitely going in my harem!!
There’s a very thin line between love & hate , both are strong passions that don’t always bring out the best in people . Jeanette & Andrew are both strong people damaged by their pasts but when they get together sparks fly & once they get a taste for each other if they can put their insecurities aside there could be a happy ever after for them both .I loved Lines the first in this series , i say series but each book can be read as a standalone , but the characters cross over from book one & its definitely worth a read to get a better insight in to this one . Reading these books is almost like being a teenager again with all the doubts & worries those years bring , looking forward to more from the Greyford high pupils
Oh lord these two are like fire and ice. Andrew and Jeanette have that love/hate relationship that will make your head spin.
Andrew has scars that run deep from a mother who took off and a rich daddy who doesn’t give him the time of day. He is thought to be a daddy’s boy but the truth is his home life isn’t all sunshine and rainbows.
Jeanette is trying to move on from a past that has left her broken. Moving to a new town she meets Amelia and Brook who she doesn’t really know if she can call friends. For Jeanette It’s safer to be alone and to protect your heart from the world. Lia is super sweet and nice but Brook is a whole another story.
When Drew and Jeanette’s world collide it is EPIC. The chemistry is AMAZING and will definitely give you all the feels. This book has so many twist and turns it will leave your head spinning. My heart broke for both these broken souls. There is so much the world just couldn’t see. Will Drew and Jeanette find solace in each other or will the past rear it’s ugly head and destroy it all? The last book in this series can’t come quick enough!
I rarely ever cry reading, well I’ll tell ya’ll, Habits made me shed more than a couple of tears!
I loved Lines and Jeanette always intrigued me because I knew there was way more to her story, same for Andrew. I guess I’m one of those people who sees that the meanest ones are usually the ones that are hurting the most, and that’s exactly the case with Jeanette and Andrew.
I was glad that this was in dual POV, getting a glimpse inside both of their heads during certain situations really helped me understand exactly where each was coming from.
We met Drew King and Jeanette Sanders in Lines, both of them cold as ice towards others (and each other) and unwilling to let anyone in. These two were at each other’s throats the majority of Lines but they are more alike then either of them could have guessed. In Habits, we get to understand more about why they are the way they are.
“Broken, misunderstood boy finds solace in the arms of equally broken and fucked-up girl.”
Andrew (Drew) King the boy that everyone hates but he prefers it that way, if no one gets close, no one else can leave him. Hotshot hockey player, alpha asshole, party boy, womanizer, etc. he’s all those things and more and nothing touches or gets through that hard exterior. He chews up and spits girls out left and right, that is until he meets Jeanette Sanders.
Jeanette Sanders, the new girl in town, ice queen, untouchable, sassy girl, and Max Sanders twin sister. She keeps everyone away with her ice-cold shoulder for fear of being broken all over again.
Drew and Jeanette are two beautifully jaded, broken people. Issues from their past are haunting them every day making them act out and push others away.
These two seem like an unlikely couple, but the attraction between the two is undeniable and no matter how much they try and ignore it, as well as each other, it only gets stronger.
So in Lines, Amelia was such a good girl that there wasn’t much action besides some kissing and maybe some heavy petting, well in Habits that is NOT the case!
“Eyes on me, Princess.”
“Still think this is just a slip?”I ask, licking my raw lips. Her hand slides from underneath my shirt and goes lower, caressing the bulge contained in my pants. She bites into her lip as she feels the hardness of me, her eyes getting all hot and heavy. “In this moment, you could be the devil himself and I wouldn’t care.”
That ending, gosh the heartache that these two have been through… my own heart broke for them.
“We’re not good together. We’re too intense, too destructive for each other, too broken.”“Maybe, but we belong together.” I cup her cheeks. “You can’t deny it. We might be broken, but it doesn’t seem like that when we’re together. It’s like all the broken pieces fall into place and are glued back to life.”
Can two broken people help each other fix the broken pieces of each other? Or will they eventually shatter each other, beyond repair? You’ll have to check Habits out to find out!
I loved that in Habits, the author touched on a topic that is rarely ever talked about. You read about depression, drug abuse, etc, but this is one of those topics people like to pretend isn’t a problem. The insecurities that women suffer from because of the unrealistic expectations society puts on them about how we “should” look. Too tall, too skinny, too short, too fat, it’s all the same. We are all unique in our own way, we are NOT supposed to be one size fits all, and we are all beautiful in our own unique ways!
Anna, you did an amazing job of bringing light to a subject that isn’t talked about nearly enough! Beautifully written, amazing plot, perfect pace, and characters with actual depth. Amazing job!
I am soo ready for book 3, if my suspicions are correct then those two’s world is about to explode! I can NOT wait for Brook’s story. She’s the character I’ve been the most intrigued by.
If you like some angst and spice with your YA/NA, then Habits is the book for you! Highly recommended!
*I voluntarily reviewed an advance complimentary copy of this book.
I really enjoyed this young adult story. My first read from Anna. The plot is full of depth and teeters between the present and the past. If you like sports romance, brother’s friend, hate to lovers, high school drama.. then you will find all of that in this story.
Jeannette and Andrew don’t really like each other in the beginning, yet there is something that draws them together. They have similarities in their pasts that they are unaware of that absolutely crushed me when it was revealed. Brings you right back to all those stressful moments of peer pressure in high school. She is a strong girl who had to rebuild herself and I adored her.
I definitely believed these two and their feelings for each other. If I were to have any criticism, it might be that the banter and inner dialogue from these two seemed to be too mature for 17 year olds.
The heart of this book is about two halves of one soul finding each other. Both Jeanette & Andrew are broken and tarnished, but when they’re together they’re able to find peace, even if it’s just for a moment. They both had to figure out how to fix themselves before they could be together without breaking each other more.
This book brought out a lot of emotions for me. There were tears, giggles, and lots of anxiety that they wouldn’t be able to get their HEA. I’m happy to say that they both were able to find their way and come together!
This book was everything I was hoping for and SO MUCH MORE! Jeanette and Andrew both had me wanting to know more about them from Lines, the first book in this series.
“His eyes always have this gleam in them. I’ve heard what people say. They call it mischievous, but I know better. I can see behind it. I can see his darkness. Because it matches my own.”
Jeanette and Andrew are both broken and troubled, and both think that they are broken beyond repair, and that nothing good could possibly come from them being together. Or could it?..Hmmmmmm!!
“I’m so good at forming bad habits, and Andrew Hill? He’ll be the worst habit of them all.”
I really loved the entire story. The drama, the steam factor and the chemistry and connection between the two of them was just great. Hot. Hot. Hot!!
If you loved Lines, then you will without a doubt love Habits!!
I read an ARC of the book and this is my honest review.
